Well done Tyler Roberts. Most people were saying "all the lad needs is a goal" Well he's now got two so the big test of the player is now the weekend. Hope he can pop up with another one (at least) then MB has one hell of a decision when Roofe is fit. It's a good problem to have.

Nessy on the injured list as well now. We won’t have anybody left come November.

I watched it live in Melbourne, draw a fair result with injuries and great to still be unbeaten, made better with boro and derby losing.
They were physical and just pumped ball into box, every throw in went long into box too, defense dealt with most of them.
Looked like Phillips playing very deep, 3 CB's, only looked vulnerable in last 3 mins, they went for it and hit post.

As for Roberts, he made some decent runs in behind and had 3-5 chances but like Ekuban, never made great confident contact, but least he got them and a goal will be a help for him.

Alioski was rubbish, no final ball, caught off side constantly, should have gone all out for Foden ( he unused sub again) ?
Missed Hernandez today but Harrison getting better. Surprised Edmundson didn't get a run when Roberts off and maybe not the right game for young Clarke, get him in for alioski against Preston.

Seems very fair and accurate summary Shadwell, thanks. I’d like to see Roberts getting another crack against Preston and hope he can get a goal so his confidence rises.

I seem to remember Alioski having bad games after the international breaks last year, he’s definately not consistent.

Not sure if he will start with Clarke bu a great Elland Road crowd must be a good place to give Clarke and Edmondson some minutes this week.

Trust Bielsa to know the right moment for Clarke 😉.

We bought Roberts for a reason, this is his big chance in his position, so has to start. He has pace and looks strong which we'll need against the wall. Now he has had a few run outs, let's hope he can play well and get us a goal.
Edmondson on bench as back up and would also have Clarke there too. Will Forshaw make the subs, not match fit but an option late on?
Think jansson in is a good thing and can see him and cooper being our main 2 Cb's.
Going for 0-1 and Roberts to score and then all discussing how good he looks?

Not an ideal situation with players out but a chance for a few to shine.
I think Harrison is showing signs of being a key player for us.
Will need 11 players on the pitch against the wall and all of them to do their role well.
Suspect a draw but hope for a win.
Speed can undo them.

Worth noting that this is not the same Milwall we came unstuck against last year. We have the second best goals against in the comp and Milwall are leaking like a sieve. Even without our frontrunners I think I believe can take this.

Kiwis we had trouble finding that sieve.

It did seem somewhat clogged Whiteman. Glad for the point in the end. I feel it wouldn't have been forthcoming last year.

Patrick Bamford injured with cruciate knee ligament out for 4 months. Won't play again until early next year. Chance for Roberts and Clarke in my opinion.

all of our most expensive players seem to go out injured for months. is this some sort of conspiracy?

Although it's tough on the lad, unless Roofe hits some horrible form I don't think we'll miss him. Also maybe a chance for Roberts and/ or Clarke to step up.

True about Roberts and Clarke, maybe edmondson too, but do feel for Bamford.

How about Dallas for the centre forward role. He seems to be ear marked for every other position

He could our version of Cesc Fabregas, a false number 9.

Shame but hopefully back for Jan when the bad weather might be taking its toll on Roofe. Think Edmondson and Clarke can do a few shifts as well. Roberts still to convince me but sure he has something to offer. Typical though get a new job, get your feet under the table then have a couple of months on sick lol.

Dallas leading the line, I mean he runs like a dog after a ball, he's not got a bad shot, but he'd get sucked into the midfield battle too much. no promotion winning team uses last seasons reserve RB/ LB as a striker. Roberts now next in line for me, alioski is even a better hout, izzy brown has also played there.

Shaunessy got a full game for the Irish under 21s yesterday which is good news. Against Preston definitely looked rusty. Looks like he played at the back as well.

Liam Kitching and Paudi also had good games again out on loan. Paudi scored and Harrogate are top of their leaue with Kitching playing every game and two goals for him so far. Know its lower leagues but still experience.

Apparently leeds have negotiated a deal with chelski that we don't pay a penny of Izzey's wage until we get him fully fit and play him!
Good business!

I think this is a really important and interesting deal. A club like Chelsea prepared to trust our team to get this highly rated and expensive young player back to peak fitness and playing again. We also seem to have thought it through, getting someone who should be a real asset during the often tough second half of the campaign. It’s like a jan recruit but secured, in place and learning the Bielsa way already. Great move!

Not sure if I'm the only one but getting a bit fed up with some of Pontus's comments to journalists. I don't really care what happened in the summer regarding a transfer with him, if the club was prepared to sell him for a price, I'm sure that happens with lots of players. I'm sure in the past, pontus himself was sniffing around a possible premiership move. He needs to focus on being a regular in the team again and contributing to the great performances. Perhaps he's miffed he is no longer first pick in the defence, but get your head down lad and contribute to getting the team and yourself into the premiership.

Agree spanish he is fast going from hero to zero, not done his reputation a great deal of good during the last season or so.

Disagree Spanish. Pontius telling us the truth were as Angus kinnear lied and and told us they rejectected the offer for him. Why?

Just not sure Martyn if you ever get to find out what really happens in the murky world of transfers with agents wheeling and dealing. Likewise we never really know how much players try and agitates moves. Just becomes a distraction. Glad he didn’t go and hope he gets his head down and makes himself a regular again.

Good player he is I've never really trusted the man.
He’s always banged on about how much he loves Leeds but I reckon he’d be gone in a shot if offered higher level football and pay rise. Then again I might be wrong?

Agree0 0Disagree

06 Sep 2018 00:27:16
He was offered a higher level of football and a big pay rise in Russian top league cork and said no. If he was lying about turning the offer down kinnear and the board would be jumping up and down to clear their names. It's the board I don't trust on this one I think Pontus has done nothing wrong except expose the board for lying to us.

06 Sep 2018 12:16:22
Fair enough Martyn! Not sure I’d want to go to Russia! Perhaps he feels a bit miffed about how he was treated. Not sure he fits in 100% with Bielsa, but let’s hope that it’s just a bit of response to whatever happened during the summer. If he is at full form, cooper and Beradi playing well, that eases our worries at centre back!

Very bold, but a part of me agrees totally, give it 2 games where roofe doesn't score, bamford will be in. Personally think he might even start v milwall as he's got a bigger presence, roofe works so much harder and its commendable, but against boro bamford should have started, would have been hungrier to prove a point to pulis, would have loved to have 1 over on his old team mates, and has height but is still mobile, could have proved the difference. Begging for bamford to come good.

Agree2 0Disagree

05 Sep 2018 12:37:26
Agree with both of you; he will come good when he gets his chance, but to have dropped Roofe for Boro would have been very harsh on the lad imo. The workrate he has been putting in, will however, mean he needs a break soon anyway I think.

He reminds me a bit of Micheal Bridges when he first arrived. Tall and mobile. Understated. From a North East club. Where he had been playing second fiddle

Please please please can he flourish in a similar manner.
