Newcastle away in the next round. Very winable. Come on the mighty Leeds

1.) 28 Aug 2013
I agree, very winnable, however I hope that we don't go through. I think we'll put up a great performance, but maybe a 2:1 loss would be best.
That way we have no distractions, as we aren't going to win it, we can concentrate on building on our great league start.
MOT!

To the person who hopes we don't go threw. A good cup run would do us good for our financial situation and as a Leeds fan I want us to win every game. How can u not want us to Winn

4.) 28 Aug 2013
I agree the money would help, but a cup run would detract from our league focus, the 80 million we'd get for promotion would far out weigh a cup ru n.i would much prefer to get promoted than get to the last 16 of the league cup.as a passionate fan ill be over the moon if we win, but my head says concentrate on the league.

5.) 28 Aug 2013
Is there a date for the fixture yet?

6.) 29 Aug 2013
Around 23 Sept I think

7.) 29 Aug 2013
Agreed heart must not rule head we need as few distractions as possible

8.) 29 Aug 2013
Another good experience builder for some of the younger squad members

9.) 29 Aug 2013
To all those doubters, WHY can't we win this, Bradford got to the final and I have no doubt that we could and probably put in a better performance. I always feel that this competition is about the fans and not the money, how good would it feel for Leeds to lift some silverware at wembley.

10.) 29 Aug 2013
In the league cup there is always a team who shocks everyone and goes to the end, why can't it be us this year

11.) 29 Aug 2013
Everyone loves a decent cup run but if we lose Rudy or Ross to a leg breaker, we'll all be more than a bit miffed.
A nice distraction but a risky one with -ultimately- minimal financial reward, in the grand scheme of things.
If we filled the Red Bull Arena every other weekend, we wouldn't be talking about needing the poor financial returns of the Capital One Cup to improve the team.

To the one that said it would be best to loose, I totally disagree, we should never go out and BMD will never go out to loose, and also cup games give a chance like Wooton, Smith, dawson etc to get in the starting team and prove themselves. We'll get a lot of money out of cup runs aswell!

I never said we should go out to loose! Please re-read what I put! I said that in the long term a cup run could hinder the great start we have had. Another poster put a very good point forward about injurys.
