Matthew Brown a reporter from Bolton has uncovered evidence that MC has been told he CANNOT buy ER (as Matthew put it) by a nebulous TEAK HOLDINGS!

Anyone else heard this?

Only thing I heard was the price had nearly doubled.

1.) 28 May 2014
Leeds have a long standing agreement on buying elland road back, though the price goes up every year

2.) 28 May 2014
Sorry but can you provide a link because the sale of er came with a buy back clause which currently stands at 15.8 million goes up 3% along with same rent increase each year the thing stopping cellino is ghfc who can block any major investment from cellino

Load of rubbish mate teak holdings can't refuse to sell as they would be breaking a contract with lufc which would open them up to a lawsuit

4.) 29 May 2014
Probably cheaper to build a new stadium!

5.) 29 May 2014
When we negotiated a deal to remain as tenants at ER until 2029 we also retained an option to repurchase the stadium at any time before that date.

Since 2004 the cost of renting ER rises by 3% each year. The cost of exercising Elland Road’s buy-back clause also rises each October. The current rent paid for Elland Road is £1.4m pa

6.) 29 May 2014
If Ken Bates owns the ground then it mite be true. Not selling and double the rent would be his way of putting pressure on MC after promising to buy back the ground.
That is when MC will build a new ground and tell him to talk to the super markets.LOL

I suggest you do a bit of research as I DID give you the reporters name in the post, its not hard to find and i'm ONLY passing on info I was told about by a felow LUFC fanatic ;)

{Ed001's Note - the link is held for Ed013 to check out.}

No worries mate let them do a bit of work themselves and find the link, i'm ONLY passing on a rumour a friend told me and getting knocked for it.
(wonder why I bother lol)

Keep up the good work EDs ;)

I have read the article the actual quote re buying back ER is "He has moved from I will buy Elland Road back next week to not being allowed to buy it from the nebulous Teak Holdings. " Nothing there saying its Teak Holdings stopping the buy back. The article is worth a read although it doesn't really contain anything new.

My information is the same as Eddiegrays, I have a feeling Milky Bar is right about the GFHc involvement, they have a lot of constraint as to Cellinos investment

Can we have just one season where the talk is all about football? Please? Other clubs can count on that luxury, even when they're in deep financial doo doo. We're put through the off-field ringer every flamin' season and the result always ends up with carp on the pitch.
Just one season of enjoyable football and nowt else. not too much to ask for, is it?
