Fee of £11m agreed with Fulham for McCormack. You have to hand it to the new owner on the deal, £11m is beyond all expectations now hopefully we can rebuild! On ssn. Mot

1.) 08 Jul 2014
I think that's good business and like Beckford becchio and the rest it's about money hope he has a rubbishter at Fulham

2.) 08 Jul 2014
I would have been happy with around 5-6 million never mind 11 mill. He's had one good season and every team thinks he will do what he did last season, doubt it. Get in Cellino you beauty! MOT

3.) 08 Jul 2014
Cant believe anyone would pay that for him . Boro's bid last year about the right price haha . MOT

4.) 08 Jul 2014
28yr old the cottagers have paid DOUBLE what he is worth ;)

5.) 08 Jul 2014
Yes it's a good deal knowing full well Bates would have took £2m, risky business for any championship club paying that kind of money on one player.

6.) 08 Jul 2014
Never worth 11 Mill - all the "we don't need to sell him" stories etc pushed the price right up - well done MC, can't see any previous owners landing a deal like this!

Onwards and upwards - time to start signing some talent - fun season to come - I can't wait MOT

7.) 08 Jul 2014
I know I said I would rather have RMC than not but 11 million for this level great business hope he puts it all back in the team

Twitter saying that the £11m is a figure fabricated by Leeds to keep fans happy, true value nearer to £6m. Either way, good business, unlikely he'll get another 20+ goals in a season but he was a true hero for Leeds last season. Time now to invest in the first team and also the academy

Football has gone mad, surely J Rhodes would of been cheaper and he has done it every season not 1 in 3, great business for LEEDS thou nobody can disagree with that, wonder how much up front and add ons like if they get promoted etc, bet Cardiff have a sell on clause? Wonder if we had one for snodgrass going to dull? Need to re invest in 5 or 6 quality players (wingers) would be nice. MOT

11.) 08 Jul 2014
I smell a rat . He has gone for an undisclosed figure.

12.) 08 Jul 2014
Does anyone know if the 15% sell (£1.65 million) on clause that Cardiff have is still valid or did it expire when RMC signed new contract.

13.) 08 Jul 2014
Noswood. Good point. Eds. Does the sell on clause become null and void when he signed a new contract?

{Ed003's Note - a sell on clause is between the two clubs nothing to do with a players contract.}

14.) 08 Jul 2014
Leon
The only rat you can smell has just signed for Fullham.
(He said he would ONLY move to a premiership side!)
Although I like ross and wish him the best of luck he's 28 and handed in a transfer request, in my opinion if the true figure is nearer £6 mill then its still good buisness as he's ONLY had one good season.

Season 1 played 20 goals 2
Season 2 played 48 gaols 19
Season 3 played 39 goals 8
Last season played 47 goals 29.

15.) 08 Jul 2014
Don't believe all you read. THE DEAL may be worth 11 million, but the TRANSFER fee is only a part of the deal. RMcC wages are part, as is any signing on fee. If his wages are say 25K a week, that's 3.9 million. Signing on is usually 10% so another half million. Oh and the sell on will still apply.

I said right at the start Cellino is amazing at getting crazy prices for players i'm guessing all the deals leeds had in place were just waiting for this deal to offset the turnover . last season Ross was the championships Suarez bar the odd nibble on an italian but on a whole I doubt magarth's tactics will work for him .

17.) 08 Jul 2014
Sorry, didn't realise was 4 year deal. Wages at above rates will be 5.2 million.

18.) 08 Jul 2014
Fantastic business - now let's see some signings

19.) 08 Jul 2014

Just hope the money is put to good use, best of luck to him. Although I would chuckle if he has a poor season n we finish above them!

20.) 08 Jul 2014
Don't pretend to know a lot about these things but surely a player's signing on fee and wages do not make up any part of the transfer fee- these are between the new club and player and nothing to do with the old club. If Ross handed in transfer doesn't that waive any right to a percentage of fee as well?

21.) 08 Jul 2014
08 Jul 2014 12:49:59
Why is there still nothing on OS, oh yeah sorry we sacked em all as well lol

22.) 08 Jul 2014

Anything over 5 mil is good. As long as we replace him. That lad pavoletti looks a decent player and younger too.

23.) 08 Jul 2014
Jumpleeds.

I said DEAL, not fee. If the thing is announced as an 11 million deal By Buying club, then all sorts of bits and pieces make it up to 11 million. If its announced as a 11 million transfer by LUFC, then that's what LUFC get. In this case its "Undisclosed" which means in all probability a "Deal". I really don't know why some goo for undisclosed, as annual accounts show transfer dealings anyway.

24.) 08 Jul 2014
Reckon our fee will be about 8m (just a guess going on football manager games on which I am an expert) good luck to ross he had to go as club is becoming a joke. I fear for us next year and see us going down. Although I do trust MC which I guess is a contradiction? need to get some players in and hope that hockaday is a genius signing and not the joke that he seems and that Taylor is back up and players like him get no where near our main team

25.) 08 Jul 2014
The transfer amount won't be taking into account Ross' wages otherwise we would have accepted less than we already turned down. The only things it would have included are a loyalty bonus (that will have become void when he handed in a request to leave) and a percentage of the sell on fee (also void I believe). My guess would be that the deal is 10m for us and 1m for Ross for a 10% sell on clause he would have had.
As for what we get I would expect 6-7m up front (what they offered before) with the other 3m reliant on performance bonuses such as games played, goals scored and promotion, etc.
Sad to see the lad go, even when he didn't score he looked a class above the rest of the team, its a crazy fee though for a non top tier player and could shunt us well up the table if reinvested wisely in the playing squad.

26.) 08 Jul 2014
All media outlets, including ssn and NewsNow, quoting 'fee' (not deal), just saying like.

27.) 08 Jul 2014
Gummie.

Do you honestly believe that Fulham have more or less doubled their original bid to secure his services.

28.) 08 Jul 2014
So, why "Undisclosed".

29.) 08 Jul 2014
WRover - Ross handed in a transfer request, which if I'm not mistaken means that Ross gets nothing from the deal. Can you confirm this, ed?

{Ed003's Note - It usually means he waives the right to a loyalty bonus - but that could quite easily be negotiated that what he loses his new employers would pay (that is pure speculation by me) }

30.) 09 Jul 2014
I never suggested he would get anything. At least not from LUFC.

31.) 09 Jul 2014
The whole fee is payable to Leeds over 4 years - the length of the contract signed.

This is entirely normal.

There is a small figure paid immediately, some add-on clauses and the majority of the fee paid over 4 years.
