Wow this one should really test the " in Bielsa we blindly trust " brigade . Talk of us blowing most of the JC money on a permanent deal for Harrison . Utter utter madness .

Sounds unlikely - where have you seen anything to suggest that. All reports to date say it will be another loan deal - perhaps with the option to buy next summer.

I've just read a report that we are signing him for £7m
I hope it is a permenant deal but think £5m is more realistic.

Daily Star says perm for £7m . Hopefully wide of the mark! I understand a loan on sensible terms but not perm .

Man City want £20 million so it’s probably lazy journalism.

RHC

I hope you are wrong about Harrison at £7m on a permanent deal. I am with you on the idea that Harrison isn't £7m if Clarke is a benchmark of £10m

I wouldn't be averse to signing him on a loan-to-buy for £7m as we would only have to shell out the fee if he did really well and/ or we got promoted. In which case he would be an acceptable squad player in the Premier League

I have the same feeling about Costa. £12m on a loan-to-buy would mean we shell out the money if he shows himself to be a world beater and/ or we get promoted

I would even try the same deal with Newcastle for Gayle. Loan-to-buy at £20m if we have to. We only have to actually pay these fees if we make it to the Promised Land. And if we do then the above transfer fees are acceptably sized for that level

Even if it took the whole of Jack Clarke's transfer fee to broker the 3 deals I personally say it's worth it. It shows intent. It shows we have added MORE quality to an already very good squad. And it gives our very good U23s another year yo improve. If Harrison, Costa and Gayle had to be sent back at the end of season, possibly Stevens, Bogusz and Edmondson would be ready to step up.

Not happening. Simple.

Axe the three on loan to buys would be great . I’m a firm believer that if you borrow a player you must try to have an option to buy included otherwise it’s so short termist .

Bright, your more than probably right, but I just want us bringing in better than what we already have.

Quality players not only upgrade the quality of the 1st XI, but they also work as benchmarks for our permanent guys to aspire to. Our youngsters see how hard you have to work to get to their level. In some cases those quality players become mentors to the younger players. Show them how to be a 'professional' footballer

I remember how Strachan up'd the work ethics of the guys already at Elland Road.
