Given the pressure on the Leeds goal and lack of creativity and chances up front something of this order might prove beneficial. Lonergan retains his place in the absence of anyone else. Beradi at right back Jansson at centre back with either Pennington or Cooper. (not much to choose between) Dallas at left back with Alioski on the same wing (he does get back reasonably well) Shoughnessy to play just in front of back four. Vierra and O'kane in midfield. Saiz at number 10 and lasagga up front. Bench: Weidweld, Phillips, Roofe, cooper/ pennington, Ayling,, Hernandez, Klich or up and coming U23 Grot, I'm afraid, offers nothing, Checbici- Don't know what he's like. Hasn't shown much so far. I think will have more possession further up the pitch, Saiz will be playing in his preferred position, We should be stronger at the back. I was surprised how well the Dallas Alioski pairing did against Derby. Ayling gets a longer rest. Beradi plays in his preferred position. Lasogga might get the service he prefers balls in and around the box he can run on to. Why we persist in hoisting long balls to him is beyond me. He's not that sort of player and never will be. He's a good finisher given the chance and he has quick feet. His head is just for thinking and to have something on top of his shoulders and for the ball to bounce off occasionally.

Which leaves us with what our wide right?

The price you have to pay for having to play like that. It would better than we have been for the past few games. Playing more through the middle and down the channels might suit Lasogga more. If its not working you could always bring on Ayling and push Dallas forward and switch Alioski. Unfortunately most of our wide men are lightweight so a different approach is needed certainly in the short term

Have I understood this correctly - we play with a left wing but not a right? That should solve the problem of goals against us coming down that side!

We should win more ball before opposition can start attacking down the flanks (so there will be less of it) and more cover in the central areas if they do. The object of the arrangement is to control the game and limit the opposition. It might not work but it has some technical credibility and the present system (with two wide men) is just getting us overrun in all areas. Its designed to compensate for us having an iffy keeper, inconsistent central defenders, lightweight wingers, a mid field that can't hold its own against the better teams and a striker who can score when given the chance but can do little else.

Any team would just set up to constantly play down our right hand side, can't see that working at all Hess. our problem is at times we don't have enough players who want it enough. when the going gets tough they. well. get going literally. o Kane struggled to get around the pitch and has turned into bridcutt (always between the centre backs) . maybe time to give klich a run of games as opposed to just cup games. why not try sacko on the right, can he really do any worse than Alioski? .

Unfortunately I don't think we have the players. I thought just going with vierra, O'kane and phillips might do it. It didn't. I think we need even more in the mix to compete. Given we can't have twelve on the pitch somewhere has to miss out. We are deficit in the goal keeping dept. In the back four in midfield and wide. on top of that Lasogga is a finisher - that's all.
