Radz is attempting to deflect blame from ownership and upper management and onto the players in the hope of preserving fan loyalty and crowd attendance. Radz, tip for you. Don't give 4 years to League One standard players. I don't disapprove of your player sales of better players. Taylor and Wood had to go but the answer is not to use those monies for longer term contracts of lesser players. That is what you call "demented". There are several posters on here who really know the game and the division. Why not seek their opinion on recruitment and player retention? Can't speak for others but I'm sure their services would come relatively free because they are passionate and committed and that's because they love the club and city from the heart. Like your predecessor said, you can't buy the love. 4 year contracts to League One standard players don't buy passion. It just put lipstick on a pig. 💋🐷 #lipstickonpig

Thanks Martyn. I still think Radz is doing a fairly good job but it's the hypocrisy and attempts to delude fans I object to. The fella bought back the ground and he's revitalized the academy. It's currently to the cost of the first team but that can change in a year or two when more funds are available but blaming the sorry state of affairs on so-called underperforming players is the wrong way to go. Only RV is underperforming. The rest comes as no surprise because they aren't very good to begin with. Radz rebuilt the assets Cellino failed to address or stripped. More time is needed hence why Radz said 5 years. Radz ought to know he said that because Cooper is very average and Radz for financial reasons decided not to pursue Flint and players of that ilk. Radz, recognize that Phillips is only a squad player and Okane is utter garbage.

I agree with you, Georgie-Boy, about Radz's cynical attempts to play the fans and not address the real issues. To me we look to only have an improved version of Cellino - at least so far. And anything similar to Cellino ain't good. Pep Guardiola probably wouldn't get much out of our boys. if the eggs are off there isn't going to be a Michelin star omelette! And Radz is the owner at the top of this tree so HE is ultimately responsible. He has selected Orta, the manager and seemingly issued the long term contracts to muppets. He isn't doing too well is he. My concern is he looks at risk of repeating similar mistakes to Cellino (new players on the cheap, let the better players go, talk a good game but under-deliver) . And then guess what. he achieves jack over the 5yrs and sells up for a modest profit whilst the fans have been cheated once again. I honestly did initially think Radz was much better than this but the evidence so far is not good.

The way to be an outstanding owner is to surround yourself with outstanding advisors. So far the only direct critisizm I can level at Radz is his unwise social media posting. Needs his PR man to say "just take a deep breath and think twice Mr R. George, on the face of it too many average players are on too long a contract so are maybe, coasting. This is now down to Hecky, who knows them the best, to sit down and write a Keep List, a list of those that are not trying but may be salvaged Then the list of those that are maybe trying but will never be good enough. I personally think that the not trying list is just as damning as the not good enough list. If he has coasters, now is the time to show them that, by whatever action, their place is not secure. Whether we buy in or promote internally there is always somebody to take them and we don't want to carry excess baggage. The jury is out on his recruiting chief. At present things are not all rosy in the garden but if some of the young buds bloom in the next 9 games then the man is a genius and many of us (me included) owe Radz and Orta an apology. Are we moving toward a BIG shakeup this summer?

Good post LS11.
Leodis, I wouldn't be surprised to see little in way of outgoings because no-one will want to take them as they'll want their wages matched. Players like Cooper, KP, Okannot, Sacko even Dallas know Leeds is the pinnacle of their career but they've deceived management into thinking they're good enough. Expect more Murphy scenarios, that is 2 years on loan before they sling their hook. Length of contracts is something Cellino knew all about and did well. He just wasn't that good at pay increases. He knew who was average though. As for Wiedwald, if you pay him what he's worth, he owes his current and next employer large sums of money. He is at best conference standard. A radical overhaul required otherwise I see us in a relegation dogfight in 2019.

I have to disagree George, I have seen many fine goalies in the Conference, and a few better than Wiedwald in the Northern Prem!

I agree with Leodis about Radz's PR. Drawing attention to your self by criticising others in public makes you look unprofessional and could be viewed as a poor sign of character. It's also probably a bit embarrassing for the club. Instead why not keep a low profile, concentrate on getting what you do right, and let your results on the pitch do the talking. Whether or not Wolves are operating appropriately and in the spirit of things could have been found out without a public outburst. So one wonders why he chose to go about it the way he did? Perhaps this is an indication Radz is worried he has bitten off more than he can chew by buying LUFC?
