Under 23s, good run out for Roofe and Beradi. Roofe put us 2-0 up and we should have had the game wrapped up with the possession and chances we had. Let them back into the game and they took their two clear opportunities. Roofe was played on the wing, beradi left back. Clarke bit of an off day but we didn't get the ball to him much, moved him to centre forward when Dalby came off and he had a couple of opportunities. Shaunessy down to play but went off in the warm up. Baker, some nice touches, quite a few didn't come off. Always feel he should have more impact on games at this level and doesn't quite do it. Forshaw played the full game Diaz looked good with the ball and a good partnership with Struick until the errors crept in during the second half. 2-2.

Thanks for the post Spanish
Good to hear Berardi roofe and Forshaw are back. They have another week to recover yet. Expect all to start next game. Shame we only drew though!

After our second goal we didn’t play with the same intensity. Forshaw looks fine. Beradi yellow carded and lucky not to receive a second, so back to his feisty self. I think the result reflecting the the fact, probably quite rightly, that the stability of the u 23 team has been effected by the promotions into the first team squad, Shackleton, Clarke, Edmundson, the first team era looking for match fitness and international break. The team is now changing a lot.
The talking points from yesterday were, Beradi and Shackleton lb and rb, in that order, perhaps an experiment? Roofe on the wing, possibly just a less rigorous introduction?

The defensive 4/ 5 of this team looking good, normally, Robbie Gotts, Leif Davis rb/ lb and then Diaz/ struick / appo Co options.

Corberan not happy with losing the two goal lead. Bielsa there for the whole game with virtually all of the coaching team.

Food for thought there Spanish.
Lots of interesting scenarios.
Love bs involvement. A very thorough man.
He does inspire confidence even if some players don’t.
Onwards and hopefully upwards!

know we have to give first teamers a run out after injuries and such but when half the tea is from the main squad think it loses a bit of enthusiasm. The celebration of the goals sort of showed that. Understand Bielsa uses matches to try different things with players but i enjoy it more when the likes of Kamwa and Stevens are in there battling for a first team spot. Nice to see first team play on the cheap but would rather see 2 or 3 at a time. When over half the team is out its a bit of a training match for them.

Fair point Bige, you could see that after the second goal went in. It effects the comradarie of the team. Interestingly there is a rule that you can only play three over 23s! It shows how young a lot of our first team squad are because they can creep in under the age rule.
