Disappointed to see Radz playing games and not sorting the 2 ks kemar and kalven contracts. Our 2 most sought after players. Just put your hand in your pocket and get it sorted.

Wex No game is being played. It's called strategy. We need to know which division we're playing in next season before committing on salary. Since we might get promoted (promotion is good, would be good news) I can't see Radz examining this further until earliest end of April 2019. January interest maybe even bids for our best players are inevitable but I can't see anyone leaving until the end of the season. Something to do with want to be there and enjoy being part of getting LUFC promoted and not sitting on a PL team bench instead during our return to glory.

Dunno about KP but Roofe's current contract is, at least, till the end of next season so why risk new contracts (on PL wages) until we get promoted?

Wex Think you'll also find Jack Clarke is our most sought after player. Otherwise, excellent post. Expect a large bid from Citeh in about 5 weeks for him.

These days, Wex seems to come on, leave a critical post and then disappear for a week with no debate. It’s good to discuss these issues on here. I think Wex is only quoting one side of the story, the agents view. George is right, these days player contract negotiations are an enormously complicated task.

Al is also right, Roofe contract finishes 2020 and KP 2021, so there is time!

With both Roofe and KP, would they be automatic starters for a Leeds premiership team? ( Bermondsey, you don’t need to answer the second part at least) ! The answer to that question determines what kind of contract that the club would offer at the moment and also what the agents would negotiate. I suggest that’s why it could be in both sides interests to pause for the moment and concentrate on the task in hand!

We're willing to pay Bamford twice what roofe and Phillips are getting.

6.) 09 Dec 2018
09 Dec 2018 10:48:17
We'll see what their contracts are worth if the mighty Burnley or Bournemouth offer too triple their wages in January.

7.) 09 Dec 2018
09 Dec 2018 10:54:35
Roofe should be on more than Bamford.

8.) 09 Dec 2018
09 Dec 2018 11:49:29
Burnley are in the Championship next season so won't be in a position to lure anyone from us.

9.) 09 Dec 2018
09 Dec 2018 12:37:49
Disagree Martyn. Burnley won't go down. There are 3 worse teams. I can see the incumbent bottom 3 all being demoted. This does not mean however that our better players will end up at Turf Moor anytime soon.

Wex, no problem with KP, Bermondsey is confident he is not good enough to play in the premiership or indeed for us! Perhaps Bermondsey is on the Leeds United contracts negotiation panel!

If A premiership side come calling for either Roofe or KP and offer a fair price then I think there is a good chance we would take it if the player wants to go. The more likely we are to be in the premiership, the more likely they are to want to stay and the more we might pay. But the question remains, are both KP and Roofe good enough to be premiership starters every week?

Other point is, does any one on here really know the details of Roofe, KP and Bamfords contracts? I don’t but would be interested to know Wex if you do?

Spaniard No true fan would even be thinking let alone discussing the details of players' contracts right now. We're 2nd in the league with a 5 point gap and the transfer window only 3 weeks away during which we might strengthen, hopefully. We have a truly excellent manager and coaching staff getting every ounce out of the players. Bamford is back, Brown about to break into matchday 18 and various players who've seen a good amount of first team action returning late January. Anyone critical of Radz either not a full pound or has an unattractive agenda. If fans can't rejoice a little now and heap some praise on Radz when can it ever be done?

Seems wanting more for your club is unacceptable. Wanting more from your owner makes you not a true fan. Some of you guys have some neck.

13.) 09 Dec 2018

As you might suspect Mr George, I agree with you!

14.) 09 Dec 2018
09 Dec 2018 16:41:22
Wex, happy to want more from club, owner and fans, but getting the cheque book out and agreeing to whatever Roofe and KPs agent wants isn’t necessarily good for the club! There are posters on here who don’t think KP should play for Leeds in the championship never mind the premiership, so bound to be a healthy debate about what kind of additional contract he deserves!

I just don’t think it’s a bad idea to concentrate on the football now and contracts later.

Don’t you think perhaps Radz deserves some credit for anything he has done?

15.) 09 Dec 2018
09 Dec 2018 17:46:56
Who said anything about giving them what they want. Improve their contract and tie them down for a couple more years. Not exactly breaking the bank considering how little investment has been made.

Wex Newsflash!

In 2004 we were relegated from the PL depriving us in cumulative terms of an estimated £1.5bn in income. We subsequently experienced a firesale of our better players, a number of dodgy owners, two administrations, a 15 points deduction and further relegation into League One. It usually takes a long time to turn it around and bounce back.

A decade and a half later we're doing just that. Surprised it took this long? Obviously our resurgence not on your timescale but I believe you're in a very minuscule minority of Leeds fans who realistically feel short changed by the current owner. My apologies for Bill Gates not buying us when we had on our books Enoch Showumni. Why not find a new planet to live on? One where 99.9% of all wealth belongs to the city of Leeds, wars are fought with chicken drumsticks and no-one engages in crime or sex before marriage. You'll be right at home then.

09 Dec 2018 19:24:43
And Wex, perhaps the reasons why the talks haven’t progressed is that we wouldn’t give them what they wanted at the moment! Fact is, we don’t know the details and it always takes two to tango! I think Radz is to you what KP is to Bermondsey If we go up this year, don’t think anyone will be able to say that the board hasn’t invested
Wisely!

My question before was a genuine one, you said we are paying Bamford double Roofe, what are the details of both salaries?

Do you think Fulham invested wisely during the summer, 100 million?

Why are you so anti Radz, when it seems to of us that what the club is doing is working?

18.) 09 Dec 2018
09 Dec 2018 20:09:46
And they have 18 months and two years left on the ones they have. Not like they run out next week is it!

Whiteywoman You're entitled to your opinion as I am to mine. I think you'll find the majority of posters agree with my appreciation for Radz, his successful learning curve and the gradual improvement of our club. You're welcome to discover who else thinks my view is rubbish.

Shock horror Whitey people study contract law for years in university. Then some of them specialize in the law of sporting contracts all their working life!

But actually, the point I was making was that, today, the process of drawing up and agreeing contracts with players is complicated . That’s why they have agents and the agents have legal advisers and the clubs have legal teams. Not sure it’s something that we want players involved in when we are trying to win the championship. Coming back to the original point by Wex, ithe complexity of the discussions also means we on the outside really don’t have a clue as to what has happened!

Spanishleeds I agree with you it’s ones point of view, wex is allowed to post what he thinks is his opinion, or views, then post like yours and one or two other don’t like it and take the mick because you don’t like his opinion, or maybe it’s not to your or others liking, let fans post what they think with out criticism, or sarcasm, it’s a Leeds fan site god sakes not just yours; Georgina, and, AL, s.
