Bamford scores! Welcome back, nice finish as well. Under 23 side that includes, Harrison, Baker, brown, Bamford, Shaunessy. Of course, we gave them a 1 goal start! So 1-1!

2-2 now! If you get a chance have a look at Jack Clarke’s goal, great run and scores! Not a bad performance so far, up against top of the league side who are pretty free scoring recently!

3-3, some game this is! Now Baker gets a bit of scoring practice for us! Harrison gone off to be replaced by Clarke and Leif Davis gone off for Aapo!

Now Izzy brown goes and gets a goal, 3-4 in what is turning out to be a very positive outing for the squad and great news for the first team as well!

Bamford with number 5! He put himself into a position in scoring where he really could have hurt himself and comes away rubbing his leg! This game in a strange way, could prove to be a key part of our season. This lineup not too far away from championship standard!

It's the FA Cup squad getting some time in ;)

Wow, this is some performance, Clarke goes in another incredible run, takes out 2/ 3 players and Bamfird gets his hat trick! There is some talent out there today. When you get the chance what he the highlights! We could be seeing a glimpse of some of our future first team performances here!

Well that was a pleasure to watch! Strange to see a under 23 game that actually answered a lot of questions about the First team squad.

Brown now looking fit, played the full ninety and looks class
Bamford hat trick, mixture of skill, good positioning and being brave.
Clarke, stunning second half, class every time he was on the ball, passed players for fun!

Harrison had a good 45, baker looked a lot better and got a goal.

Add into that, Clarke Odour, another good kid!

Really encouraging for the second half of the season.

Nice one Spanish.
Sounds awesome.
Can’t wait for Izzy and Clarke to be regulars this season.
Sounds like we may be comfortable with just goalie and striker admission in jan.

And I forgot to mention, guess who was in goal for Burnley! Mmmmm!

From the report of the U23 game looks like it is time to replace Alioski from the first team starting line up and give Clarke his place.

Clarke still only played 45 mins. Bringing him on in the second half still seems to bring out the best of him and really stretches the play. If you can keep him fresh and use other legs for the first 45, why not?

Guys, wasn’t at the ground just watching it all online! The Burnley website claimed the game was going to be played behind closed doors! Put me off, I saw a lot of agents there but I think some fans went anywhere. Still great to watch!

What the under 23s are doing just gives me greater faith in what the whole club does. The games showcase the youth, give first teamers game time, give us a chance before in a way of playing and form a real bridge to the first team. It’s just so joined up. Brown and Bamford are going to be like Jan signings that have already been inducted into the ways of Bielsa. Harrison and Baker still very solid and good assets. Jack Clarke is definitely our wild card for this year that will win us games. Robbie Gotts and Clarke Odour, other Names from the squad that may well see more involvement in the first team plans. it’s a good time to be a Leeds Fan!

Spaniard You're so right. Investment in the correct place, the youth, after it was harpooned by the previous owner.

Great posts Spanish and George.
George you are bang on regarding the previous regime as there was little to no forward thinking. Great to see an owner and his senior staff looking to the future as well as now. Well said George.

George, keep that stuff about Brown on the downlow, we might be able to make Chelsea think he's poor and snap him for a tenner ;)

Clarke Shackleton Pearce all here when Cellino was in charge. Set up now is a lot better with academy teams reflecting the way the first team play. Think that has little to do with owners and more to do with Bielsa.

28.) 12 Dec 2018

Its interesting to see how the attacking element of the team get the headlines and guys like Stevens and Nicell who put the graft in to allow them to get forward do not get a mention poor lads. Fact is its same as first team in the effort the whole team put in and though its good to see guys like Bamford and Brown doing well and progressing its also good to see the togetherness and when the first teamers drop in for game time they are starting to respect the young lads. In the past some have treated it like a training session but now they know they have to be better than the guy they replace even in the U23s.

Bige we had no scouting system when cellino was here. At least now we are looking to snap up young players who are hungry to join Leeds and do well.

BIGE, good post. I think Bielsa really understands the team ethic. Also, if you drop into the under 23s and don’t take it seriously, that will be noted by the coaching team! Bamford was a good example yesterday, really put himself out. Harrison has had 2 good 45mins recently as well. Whether you are a kid or a returning pro it’s your route back into the first team!
