This issue of whether or not Radz has invested enough money! As the whole purpose of investing money in the first team squad is about how that team performs in the season, you can't analyze it properly until the season is over and you can see what has been achieved. I imagine we have already met the seasons goal, top six and relatively easily. If we get promoted we will have over achieved . If we get promoted, with the first team squad we have on the budget we have spent, I would imagine most business people would see that as having been very successful and investing wisely! You can add on to that the extra buzz created and sales created by the play off games! Might even be more successful from a business point of view to go up by the playoffs!

I understand that people wanted us to have bought more first team players but that's also not the only form of investment in the club. All the coaching staff, backroom staff, academy investment and under 23 investment, it's all investment as well and it's producing results!

In my view this year has been an experiment in doing things in a different way, and that experiment still has a chance of delivering the gold!

Spanish are you sure your account hasn’t been hacked by Radz . You seem to have become his apologist.

Red, come on, I’m an apologist for Rads just because I don’t agree with you? I just don’t think this season can be judged until it’s over. We can engage in loads of debate about what could have happened if we had bought x, y, or z and it’s easy to say that any or all of that would have made a difference, because we will never know! Let’s see what happens in the here and now!

Spanish you are a top poster . We can however judge the season to date and at the end of the season judge the season as a whole . To date we had an unbelievable chance for a top 2 place and in my opinion blew it because the squad was not strong enough, purely down to a lack of investment. MB did a great job with the squad he had and the players gave it there all. Hard to raise themselves for 3 playoff games when they couldn't do it for last 4 games of the season. How many prem quality players have we got 3 or 4? Although we all dearly want promotion, it might be better coming next season hopefully when the squad would be stronger, rather than go up, struggle and come straight back down. There are question marks over current squad being able to complete. Pablo has been our best player and he was deemed not good enough for prem a few seasons ago.

Not saying you are wrong Spanish because the season is far from over yet but think it was a bit naive not to add more outfield players in Jan given our history of injuries this season and possible suspension. As you say might not have made a difference but then again they might have.

Spanish mate I agree let’s see what happens . Major post mortems are for after the play offs . A lot of us feel that on form it won’t happen now although desperately want it to . But I don’t buy the whatever happens it’s been a great season argument and with our great under 23’s all will be ok next year . Football is all about seizing the moment like Liverpool did last night . If we are in the champ next year this season is nothing but a wasted opportunity as none of us know what the future holds next season .

Well said Spanish, apart from transfer fees I don't think a lot of people take wages and FFP into account.

Agreed Spanish but for me, promo or not this has been one hell of a season. Nothing is guaranteed in life. You cannot live on what ifs. Just take what you've got and get on with it. Here's to next season, wherever we are.

We have had 15 years of experiments Spanish. In all fairness Spanish we should have run away with the league surely you know that. One 30k a week player on loan in January is all it required. There is no justifying the fact nothing transpired. We all were waiting for the window to see where we were and sitting pretty at the top of the league was the time to throw some chips on the table Radz folded a royal flush. And there are no excuses for it Radz and co blew it.

Leodis great post. We can moan as much as we like about what could or might have happened. We could have stayed with Heckofabottom! We still have a chance of going up, does t really matter whether anyone on here thinks it isn’t going to happen. What matters is how the players do in two matches against a team we have comprehensively beaten twice.

If we win at Wembley no one is going to care about what happened in Jan or whether we finished 1/ 2/ 3. Its still exciting times let’s embrace the moment. I’ve loved this season and I love loads about what the club is doing at the moment and I prefer to be positive about the future. If that doesn’t work for you, then fine, I respect your opinions. I’m absolutely sure that is we win at Wembley we will all be cheering and celebrating like mad things and thinking about the future not the past. If we don’t, different story, but we are not in that position at the moment!

Wex, Harrison is a 55k a week player on loan, has he helped us run away with it? Izzy Brown a 35 k a week player ditto? Pukki, was a free transfer, who has done better? It’s not about how much you spend it’s about what they do. If we don’t get promoted and promotion was our goal, clearly we should have done something different, if we do get promoted, who cares?

Harrison played his part Spanish bit harsh to pinpoint him as he has probably gained us 6 or 7 points with a couple of goals and a few assists so another one like him would have promoted us and highlighting pukki as a free transfer shows how inept January was.
