1. Keep the hell away from Leeds targets.
2. Extend Ole's contract by decade.
3. Buy Neymar for £200m.
4. Increase their canteen prawn supply.
5. Disarm their fans.
6. Make Rachubka new goalkeeping coach.
7. Lose their next friendly fixture in 8 nil drubbing.
That Orta do it! 💛💙👊.

The only reasons Man Utd were so dominant were:
- Fergie intimidated referees and officials and bullied them into letting him get his own way.
- the Premier league was geared to making them much richer than all the other clubs
- the media promoted them relentlessly

Once someone else could compete financially and bridge the gap between the Premier League pushing funds to Man Utd and Fergie left they declined. With any luck they will never get back to that point again and will revert to being around 6th as they were before The Premier League.

{Ed001's Note - you forgot to mention Sky owned part of Man Utd, so it was in their interest to promote them more than any other.}

Cheers Ed - I kind of included Sky as the media but they do warrant a separate bullet. We still get the media love in for Man Utd sadly (including the BBC who like to show, or commentate on, every single game that they can) but it doesn't seem to be quite as bad as it was previously.

{Ed001's Note - sorry mate, I just thought it did deserve mentioning why the media hype was so big at the start of the Premier League surrounding them. Sky may have had a tiny stake but it was still a stake and in their interests to build them up over everyone else.}

IIRC, S*y had a 9.9% stake in all the club's at some stage.

Alf You left out the 2 main reasons, one of them is reason they're struggling now. They are:
Good purchases such as Cantona, Keane and Ferdinand
International class youth all came through their ranks simultaneously. Sharpe Giggs Nevilles Butt Beckham Scholes. Those players alone must've racked up almost 400 international appearances.
They don't have this quality of youth anymore.

Those internationals were over hyped just like their team. if they were truly all that then why did they fail so miserably at international level? They rode the Man Utd band wagon and looked better than they were because of the bias their team enjoyed, only to be exposed by genuinely world class players.

Alf Weird "sticking up" for this team but you're hardly making a decent point by saying they were outclassed by world class players. Who wouldn't be? The players mentioned were international class and little more which is what I posted to begin with. Giggs, however, was world class. They were good enough to win their PL titles but yes they did enjoy bias. Fergie time and that disallowed Bowyer goal still vex. The thing is though it was actually Howard who started off their double decade dynasty. I said at the time he was a total unprintable word for doing so. Howard may as well change his last name to Hock as far as I am concerned for that act.
