I was going to say we need a tweak not a clear out but when I look at the players who are out on loan I am not too sure. mid season we had 20 players out at other clubs plus the U23 squad. That's a hell of a pile to sort out. Personally I would like to take a closer look at the likes of Wilkes, Pearce, Shaugnessy, O'Connor, Coyle, Denton etc. Surely some of these are worth a try pre season. In fact if the had been available during this season they would have solved some of our injury/ form problems. I hope the powers that be have been keeping a close eye on these outsiders as any one of them could save us millions in the transfer market. Whatever happened to the Sarkic, Rey, Balboa and Machucas of this world. For goodness sake do not keep 45 names on the payroll, make some decisions.

You are right about all the loanees, good to check them out again preseason, we will have a lot of faces at Thorp Arch. Hope we do like last year and effectively have two squads playing games. I’m assuming the B team will have some U. K. gigs whilst the First team goes to Australia which to be honest is seeming a bit of a distraction now!

Last year Bielsa used these games to test a few players out and Klich emerged big time from that. We could if we could unearth 1/ 2 more.

Kind of agree with what you guys are saying, in that we should be having a look at all our loanees that are coming back from their loan clubs

However, I would like us to be ruthless this time around.

If Biesla doesn't see anything in one of then do one of 2 things.

Sell him for as much as we can. Take a loss if necessary.

Or if we get no takers then pay off the contract

I know a lot of people on here are bemoaning Biesla's use of a very small squad but in reality it feels like he has a hundred players to choose from.
Get rid of all the deadwood and allow breathing space for the little shootings to grow strong

I still agree with the idea of a smaller tight-knit squad, but I think that in the coming season that squad will be bigger as many youngsters have started to really step up, and more will in the coming months. Although we are not at the Man City level of two players for every position I do think we are getting close.
