I actually think each year is different in the championship, for me to get promoted you must have a player to break 25 goals and another near 20. Bub said many times about our chances to goal ratio was far greater than anyone we played irrespective of whether it was the Blunts or Wigan. So I personally would put the majority of next years budgets on THAT striker someone like Maupay, the U23s can fill all the other gaps but goals of that level don’t come cheap and I don’t believe we have a 25goal striker at the club.

Personally praying Bub stays think this could be the beginning of a New Leeds era.

I hope he stays too Class, as long as the powers that be back him to the hilt to try and get promoted.

Class

Yep, I am in agreement too. The missing ingredient is the goals. And again agree, goals don't come cheap.

I think Radz was thinking in the right way when he committed £7-£10m on Bamford. At the beginning of the season that was a hell of a lot for US to commit to one player. However, hopefully with hindsight, he can see that goals cost even more than he originally thought.

Personally I don't think Bamford is a bad player. I watched him on loan at other clubs and I definitely see a 10-15 goal per season striker there. Even more if you build a team around him like some of his previous clubs have done. But, for us, he can't be offered that luxury so I think a max of 15 goals next year

I love Roofe. He was bought for big money but for a couple of years was just used wherever there was an injury. But in all that time he never once complained. He just got on with improving his abilities and getting experience. This season I think he has shown how he has improved. In an injury hit season he has scored consistently and I would see him as a 20 goal a season striker now
But, he isn't getting any younger and I think he needs to challenge himself in the Premier league now. He doesn't have the luxury of giving us another year.

This doesn't make me despair as I can remember seasons when we did have 25 goal a season strikers who fed of very little service (Wood, McCormack) . Buy one of those fellas and, with the chances we produce, you would be looking at 40 goal a season men.

And a couple of goalscoring midfielders would not go amiss.
