Do I think we have a good premiership squad . NO

Do I think we are going to surprise a lot of teams in the Premiership . NO

I am going to dwell on our weak areas and the shoulda, coulda, woulda signings . NO

What I am going to do is thoroughly enjoy watching a squad of guys, some of whom are journeymen, that have continued where they left off from last season and play to the best of their ability for the full 90+ minutes and do not give up, because they are Leeds and they are playing for each other and for us.

In 50 odd years of following Leeds from afar, I have not seen a squad with this character (if not the ability) since the days of the Don.

Because of this attitude of the squad do you think I am going to spend a season worrying we might be relegated . NO

Leeds until I die, which after 50 years is probably closer than I would like :)

Their work rate with and without the ball is phenomenal.
Every team we play will know what’s coming and not look forward to it.

Good post Jungle! That’s how I have felt every time I’ve been at Elland road during Bielsa time. You can see why some players just don’t fit that approach. Very special time to be a Leeds fan, let's enjoy it!

agree with sentiment but you left off wilko's boys who punched well above weight to win league and maybe even graysons team who would of been prem bound if not for bates.

I am not sure how any. Leeds fan can ' enjoy' the concession of conceding 7 goals in 2 games and the feeling that clean sheets will be very hard for Leeds.

a strong Leeds defence and a 1 nil win every game of season I would much more enjoy.

Whiteman, As I said this is not a great squad, but with the spirit this team has under Bielsa, although it won't set the world on fire, I believe it is good enough to keep us up and to do it without us having to worry about a relegation battle every week.

Bermo, I am not trying to belittle the achievements of those sides but, personally, I did not get the same feeling of team focus and unity that I have from this squad.

Bazooka, Maybe I am a naive fool, but I am a happy naive fool. I have suffered the pain of having another team in a different football code essentially disappear into oblivion at the stroke of a pen by a bunch of officials every bit as fair and competent as the EFL. So yes, I can enjoy watching them concede 7 goals in 2 games, simply because I am able to still watch them (although I would prefer wins to losses) .

Jungle Know where you're coming from with your view which is healthy to have but we still have a side filled with internationals. I agree we don't have a particularly "good" first team but in my opinion an average one for this league. It's by no means a bad first team. As for the squad, it's thickening with "oftf" which is the right move by the club. What I will say is we're much less without Bielsa and sadly Ben White.

I know mate didn't think you was belittling wilko or the other squads

that is the beauty of football I think the most together squad was wilkos as they over achieved and also O'drearys before he released that soppy book

before my time but I am not sure if dons squad was that together they would fight to the death but often choked. but firstly that is the beatuy of football that people see different things have a different affect for certain eras, squads and players, and I am probably being bit harsh on dons team as before my time. but now looking back I always see them as a great team that massively underachieved as wilkos was decent team that massively over achieved.

also I agree with BV we know defence will cost us. I don't mind 4-3 when we win but if we lost to teams like West Ham due to poor defence I will not enjoy that at all.

Bazooka, not sure if you go to the games or watch on the tele, but I love being at Elland road under Bielsa. Yes we concede goals, I was at Cardiff and Millwall, but we play exciting football and you see great games. I much prefer what we’ve done with Bielsa than draws or 1-0 wins every week. And Whiteman we can play like that and stay in the premiership, because the Bielsa style and the never say die attitude will win enough games!

I can understand posters like Bermo who believed that Bielsa was wrong for the club and thought he would be sacked before Christmas, but not posters who like Bielsa but then think he should play with a bigger squad, be more defensive etc . It ain’t going to happen, if you want that type of football, sack Bielsa and get a different manager. He ain’t going to change!

Spanish

Bielsa has many good points but having a small squad in the premier league is something I wish he would reconsider.

good point spanish

I am not one for style. could not care less. I like the win, the whole win and nothing but the win. I don't think we on the whole played amazing football under wilko but I loved it. I didn't think bubs was right for championship and love that he proved me wrong, if you are going to go up 10 points clear and do it in style that is a wonderful bonus

now in prem it horrifies me and I can see us getting record goals against and that could cost us top flight football. if that is the case then style needs to change or bubs needs to go. but that said he proved me wrong once before and I have a feeling he might prove me wrong again.

I too worry about the defence. I agree Koch will mature and do well, but is he tall enough. Out jumped by Van Dijk last week and Mitrovic this week.
Meanwhile at the other end I thought Rodrigo was a bit anonymous, I hope he finds his feet soon.
