Well done Marcus Rashford MBE. A fine example for any aspiring young professional footballers to look up to.

Absolutely agree

There are times when all football rivalries should be put aside and this young, inspirational man is one of those times.

I admit to being sceptical when I first read of his initiative. Another footballer's PR exercise. Jumping on the back of the virus bandwagon. But the more I have read the more I am humbled by this young man's drive and commitment.

My only hope now is that he is transferred to a big club like Madrid or Juventus, so I can enjoy watching him play on TV. I am unfortunately a petty older man, bereft of the class of Mr Rashford.

Well. he’s showing leadership off the field as well as on it. I just wish the poor lad didn’t have to stick that ugly red rag on his back of a Saturday. that’s not fair on him now is it. Should be a law against it really. Exposing decent folk to that kind of cruelty.

It's just a shame that the honours system is devoid of value, and has been for almost a century. The lad is doing good work off the field, and I am pretty sure that he would have preferred some material support over some empty posturing.

Completely agree, he has done tremendous work and fully deserves the honour
It’s just a shame, as Cyno mentioned, they are devoid of value and have been proved again by awarding one to Lorraine Kelly, who adds zero value in this world and is basically an oxygen thief.

Really, he done some great charity related work for 5 mins which is great and nice to see but come on.
There are thousands out there doing valuable charity stuff every week but they won't get mentioned.
It's all BS PR. he's made waves in the news (well done lad, it's a valuable cause) so he gets a gong. If he'd being doing it for 10 yrs I'd think well deserved.

But harsh CW, at least he has been honoured for going above and beyond what he does on a day to day basis, he hasn’t done this for PR, I think he genuinely cares and wants to make a difference and has used his status to do so.

I won't disagree, but with power imbalances being what they are his huge platform gives him the ability to have a much greater impact than most of us.

Not saying Rashford did it for PR at all, saying whole honours list is decided based on PR.
If it was decided on merit he wouldn't be honoured whereas Mr X who has worked at the homeless shelter for 25 hrs with no pay would be honoured.
He gets it because he's well known.

Canadawhite, 150% agree with you mate, a good pr stunt There are far better candidates out there that have done more and on less wages then he get could afford to pay for free meals out of his own money, and he wouldn’t even miss it, shame on the Queen still sheet looks like she keeping up on things going on in the uk makes her look good.
