I am not a fan of player recruitment in January unless there is areal chance of relegation or winning something. We, hopefully, shouldn't be in a relegation struggle and we are not top six material. However, if either one was the case, I believe it would be a defender or midfielder we should be looking for not a winger. I would think midfielder first of all. Although non of our centre backs are dominant in the air and we are suspect at set pieces most of our problems start by us giving the ball away in midfield and not quick or 'savvy' enough to prevent the back 3/ 4 being put under too much pressure. These counter attacks often lead to goals or at least corners which in turn often lead to goals. If we sorted the sloppiness in midfield less pressure would be placed on the back four there would be less goals conceded and possibly more goals going the other way. None of our current centre backs can dominate like jansson did and Cooper even managed to undermine Jansson's presence at times. We need need a player with Jannson's dominance and experience but with other attributes that I hope Koch and Llorente will show. After that, Yes improve the squad in other areas but the problems we have now are there for all to see.

Agree Hess. That’s all we are short.
We give ball away way way too many ch and cause problems for ourselves.

Agree Hess, we need a Billy Bremner clone. Can attack with skill getting a goal yet in a split second be tackling back preventing a goal. Unfortunately that species is rare and expensive. Like Don, Victor maybe has to find a young lad with all the right attributes.

Koch is 6ft 3

Cooper is 6ft 2

Lorentz is 6ft 1.5

Struick I 6ft 3

Casey 6ft 2

Cresswell 6ft 1.5

Why do we need to buy more centre backs?
I understand a loan until our regulars are back but buying anyone now is just creating competition for Casey and Cresswell.

Agreed Axe. Tomori seems to be ideal. It will allow us, not to rush any of our injured back too early. Plus he has experience and is well thought of.

All of those are pretty short by todays standards in relation to PL footballers.

Size isn't everything. There's a lad in the school nearby who's 6 foot 6. Apparently he's not that great at football. There's a lot of players in the non league who are just as tall - doesn't mean they're great.

Yet Berardi is the best header of the ball that we have!
Sadly even injured its probably true.

Hess, when trying to head a football size has an awful lot to do with it.

As you yourself said the 6ft 6in lad was crap at football . so not sure why you mention him in a football debate

The above named players are all good at football so totally different kettle of fish.
