Played his first first-team game for us at age 15 the year I was born. He scored nearly 300 goals in 700 odd matches.

He was a boyhood hero of mine and someone for who the words “football legend” or just simply “legend” were invented.

And “Hotshot” as he was known couldn’t half thump ‘em in.

Reckon there’s a few goalies in heaven now, wishing they’d picked out thicker goalie gloves.

Say hi to Billy, Jack and Norman for us willya Peter and tell Don, his teams in good hands now. am sure he knows.
