Very sad news about Mick Bates the always smiling, always very happy perennial sub in the great Revie Leeds team

May his soul rest in peace.

Was skilful player and a great battler. Remember the Wolves game at end of 71/ 72 season when the FA gave the title to Derby, he gave his all that night. Always wondered why he didn’t move on. He would have played twice as many games for any other team back then.

Mick Bates RIP. A great servant to the Club. He was happy to be a squad player for the great Revie side, but when needed he never let the side down. He would have walked into many other teams, but stayed loyal to Don and the Club.
