I picked up on an article in the Yorkshire Post that details the possibility that Derby may not exist after 1st Feb.

It revolves about the club's "slow strangulation" by Middlesbrough and Wycombe who see merit in pursuing to have their day in Court.

Google "Why are Middlesbrough and Wycombe Wanderers suing Derby County". Click on the Yorkshire Post link and ensure you read the Middlesbrough and EFL statements regarding the matter.

It is a fascinating read and shows in detail the mess that Derby are in.

I cannot see how Derby can survive.

PLAB I think they'll survive. They could offer Boro £20m by selling their best players and Wycombe £1m. Knight Sibley Lawrence will fetch fees. Otherwise, if Boro prefer to see Derby die, they'll earn nothing in the admin and liquidation. I don't think Boro will want to see Derby get finished off like that.

George I agree, for all there faults I would not like to see them go, it’s the way thay have been run, the FA should kick out the owner, perhaps Mike Ashley will buy them he runs a tight ship. Look at Newcastle 200 million to spend and the toon fans didn’t want him.

Despite Lampard, and their financial “cheating” it would be duplicitous of me to say I wanted them to die. An historic club such as Derby should never disappear. I think that’s one thing that differentiates us Leeds fans from many others; so many people wished for, and celebrated our demise and potential extinction. Most of us are not like that.

What I don’t get is how the Derby fans allegedly are furious with the EFL for the points deduction and for Middlesbrough and Wycombe W for their lawsuit against them. They should be venting their fury at only person, Mel Morris, he has created irreparable carnage with his greed at Derby.
It’s also a heck of a lot money that the potential new owner will have to take a hit for and selling potentially half their squad is not going to make matters any easier.
Some daunting figures have also been publshed almost £30m owed to HMRC £20m to Middlesbrough, £5m to Wycombe W. and £9m to football creditors.
They truly are sliding down that greasy pole into bottomless pit.
