Noticed the other day Villa announcing loses of 87 million I believe. With Sheffield Wednesday also spending big it does make me wonder what will happen next year if they both do not go up. I know we moan at times about our owner, but when is the last time we heard the phrase cash strapped?

i agree both villa and wendies could do a leeds go broke and end up in league one. not only have we been frugal with money we have also improved rapidly really. I know many have moaned and even hated MC and some have good reason but i honestly think he is a god send and one of the best and most important people to ever join leeds. I would go as far to say we are one of the best run clubs in the country considering where we were and where we are

Villa's loss was with £100m tv money too, so they would be looking at enormous losses for the 16/17 season. Unfortunately the FL turning a blind eye to ffp (unless it's lufc) will cause clubs to go bust.

BW you are 100% right Massimo love him or hate him his name should always be spoken with respect for what he has done with Leeds United

BW is right in saying MC is a god send but one of the most important people to be at LU? I could argue for and against that, certainly very important. What about Manny Cousins, John Charles, Bremner, Revie, Gray, Wilko, Strachan, Chapman, to name a few. Villa must have been so badly run over the past few years. Haven't really spent much in the final few seasons in the prem. This season spent about £20-30m+ I'm guessing on McBadgekisser, Hogan, sacking Di Matteo etc. All that prem money, now parachute payments and still so much debt.

There are many names that should be spoken with reverence at ER and you're absolutely right with who you name Lucas but MC's contribution should not be underestimated. If GFH were still in charge we would probably have been in administration again by now and likely relegated let alone chasing a playoff spot. The man has indeed been a godsend in my eyes.

thank you speedy and i love you 100% of the time. The reason I say the most important is this Lucas, imo you cannot name one player as that important overall no matter how great as it is a team game even though all you listed are very important but how can you compare, champman, strachan, mccalister lukic to wilko who was the one man who brought them here.

same goes for Revie's great teams so number 1 is the don who took us from poor 2nd tier team to one of the best in the world. Number 2 Wilko looking at relegation to 3rd tier to champs of England, then MC looking at relegation to 3rd tier and possible liquidation to stable good team in championship.

If / when MC takes us up, I would maybe put him top only because to go from near league 3 and liquidation to prem is maybe a harder feet than wilko or don did in terms of how much harder football is nowadays and the gap that so much money has made. I do know this is controversial and may get me locked up in a padded cell.
