Salerno rejects Palermo and is reportedly linking up with MC and bringing Inter Milan goalkeeper Raffaele Di Gennaro with him

Cornish White

1.) Really hope this is true

2.) If this is true it will make up for being underwhelmed over Hockaday. Could be the link needed.

A emphasis on the development of youth and good players, coaching as opposed to managing, a two to three year plan, appointing a man whose ideas on youth development were adopted by the majority of English Clubs!

Sounds like building the dream and not buying it to me. Look were we got trying to 'buy it', too long in the proverbial footballing wilderness, bled dry by people who were more than a little dodgy (allegedly).

Have a little patience Mighty Whites, you never know the coach might just be the power behind the throne, it is not always about high profile or what you see, how many of you drive your ferraris with the bonnet up eh!

'I can't explain the dramatic dip in form' (I paraphrase) attributed to Mr McD

Without resorting to the well known McEnroe 'you can't be serious' what planet is he on, he is the manager, the person who decides what team to play, what tactics to play, what players the club needs, need I go on. He is paid far more than most of us could hope to earn and for what to admit us something that is becoming evermore apparent, that he doesn't have a clue why a well performing team dipped so badly in form that we started to think about life back in Lg1. OK so life has been difficult, we all knew that the finances of our great club were 'complicated', I want to say as dense as Mr McD response. where does personal responsibility come in here, if I went to my boss and said Sorry I can't explain the serious discrepancy between my teams performance between the start of the financial year and now I would likely be placed under competency procedures. Man up Mr McD take some personal responsibility, acknowledge your own part in what has happened you may get some sympathy from others if you do, otherwise it will be a case of 'exit stage left and please turn the lights out as you go we need to be careful with money you know'.

Sorry rant over but what a limp response to a very disappointing season

Cornish White

1.) Ha ha, I agree, that is a very very poor response to how the season has gone, if he can't explain it then he is basically saying he has no clue about football IMO, and in which case should be shown the door.

2.) Have to agree with BOTH of you he's not even blaming the take over like he was last month, hey don't listen to me though I change my mind about BmD everday

My brain says get rid my gut says give him till xmas but its edging 60/40 towards a NEW manager i'm afraid ;)

3.) Another comedy gold comment from our inept manager. He has been spouting for months on post match radio interviews that he knows what needs to be done to get out of this division and then comes out with this contradictory nonsense. The art of a good manager is being able being able to manage events when they do not go to plan. His belief that he knows how to get out of the division is through his time at Reading (You do know that he got Reading promoted!), where granted he achieved promotion but with a team that was built by someone else and with little or no issues i.e. injuries.

I don't understand this statement "dip in form"
we have been rubbish all year.
we just got lucky in the first half of the season until we got sussed by other teams.

dont forget our great performances in the cup.the writing was on the wall early doors, but as usual we buried our heads in the sand.

5.) BM? oh dear oh dear fancy not having a clue, well here are some tips why it went so bad.

1) Playing players out of position

2) Going back and forth with different formations, then deciding that ones that don't work will give them another go later in the year and expecting different results.

3) Not getting the best out of what you have (which isn't great but better than 16th in this league)

4) Not knowing your best team.

5) Not making pro-active decisions in games until we are behind, he is Mr Reactive.

6)Motivational skills clearly lacks

So he should have had ideas why it went so wrong, to me if you don't know the problems how can you address them? He has to go I'm afraid

6.) Think you missed the most important one:

'a team wins twice on the trot without conceding a goal and you change it'

happened quite recently actually, so not hard to remember?

7.) Add to DR'S list:

7) Buying defenders that can't defend

8) Bringing in Hunt - a striker who can't score

9) Bringing in wingers that can't run at a defence, can't beat a defender or cross the ball

10) Not playing Byron or Diouf - two of our better players last year

11) Picking Tom Lees - who can't defend, can't pass and who hoofs the ball straight to the opposition

8.) Take my hat off to Ian Holloway with palace at the bottom of the pile he put his hand up and said I need to go.

They are now 11th if only BMD had the balls to do the same.

The re-building has already started, I would be worried if it didn't start until next season.
