If it is confirmed that we've signed this Hamburg lad, then I wouldn't be surprised if that's not our business done for this window. Rads did say all of burnleys £22m million they kindly gave Us for wood and Taylor would go back into the squad, but he didn't say this window. They seem sensible and maybe they'll keep the vast majority of the money for January and use it wisely on what is needed then.

Why not put some into the academy? I'd rather develop our own stars than overpay for average English players.

2.) 30 Aug 2017 03:39:25
Pretty sure he's already putting money into the academy.

3.) 30 Aug 2017 13:53:19
I think Cibicki will be the last piece of business. Lasogga will already cost us around £2million in wages so even though its a loan its not without cost. Cibicki for about 1.5mill, already paid £1.5 (eventually) for Grot and save the rest for another time. 3 players for less than the price of one.

4.) 31 Aug 2017 03:26:38
I don't think there will be a single leeds fan that isn't now glad our striker has gone. What a cracking bit of business. 3 players and half of ER for him. It makes you laugh really.

Is it just me wondering why this wood medical/transfer has still not yet been completed! ? I'd have thought it would have been done and reported by now

Curahee

1.) 20 Aug 2017 20:55:57
Bound to be delay on a Sunday. Think the next meaningful update as in announcing a completed transfer will occur around 5pm Monday.

2.) 20 Aug 2017 21:12:37
Second thoughts? 😜

3.) 20 Aug 2017 21:21:14
Probably George. just thought he'd pretty much agreed everything. Maybe sg. maybe he got a memo saying 9am at the ethihad and actually thought the dream move was to Man City!

4.) 20 Aug 2017 21:36:47
Think he had a look on rightmove and realised what a complete hole Burnley is! Good riddance #sidebeforeself Keep Charlie warm on the bench on those cold miserable match days pal . 👋🏻👋🏻💰💸

5.) 21 Aug 2017 08:25:35
Transfers don't usually go through on a weekend - it is likely to happen today.

15 Aug 2017 14:05:57
Something nobody had mentioned. if we do get £25+m then could some of the money be used for a move for Delph? Would he be a solid ball winning midfielder we need?

Curahee

1.) 15 Aug 2017 16:08:14
Not sure we need another midfielder before strikers or CB's

2.) 16 Aug 2017 13:08:37
Wages? And I agree, we have midfielders coming out of our earholes.

27 Jul 2017 11:42:41
So the tactical genius that is monk is planning to spend £7m on Ashley fletcher! This is another reason I'm glad he left, if we gave him any money at all we'd have tropical fish in reception again in no time with the way he's flashing the cash! Also why has he bought another striker? that makes at least three they have.

now I'm not claiming to be a pep type coach, but if you are obsessed with only 1 formation how could three players fit one position? unless he thinks no body would notice. perhaps this is his new plan b, playing with thirteen on the pitch! 🤔

Curahee

1.) 27 Jul 2017 12:28:03
Love it😂 The mans tactically sound, but his off field decision making is appalling. Braithwaite is a good signing, assombalonga isn't, fletcher wouldn't be, they already have gestede and nugent, suppose he's just covering his srse incase teams work him out

2.) 27 Jul 2017 13:20:51
So glad he has gone. Just don't like the bloke. No plan b. No tactical awareness
And no idea what to do with a good war chest it seems. He can have as many strikers as he wants if mid start off as we finished, they won't see the ball.

3.) 27 Jul 2017 13:27:59
Samo, teams worked us out and he totally changed the side and the formation and the then the opposition didn't know what to do! if I remember correctly we won all of our last 10 games 3-0. 😋

4.) 27 Jul 2017 14:07:26
£7m . West Ham must be struggling not to giggle There's better players to be found abroad for a fraction of that Doesn't fit in with the current policy of buying young and unproven with a potential high resale value Same with Flint. Decent Championship player or Swedish international at same price? Easy call that one.

5.) 27 Jul 2017 16:34:29
Really woody! Struggling not to giggle? i think they're pissing themselves all the way to the bank! Isn't it the equivalent of someone giving us £7m for antonsson?

6.) 27 Jul 2017 18:39:12
Monk doesn't have a clue about transfers. Hence the numerous Swansea rejects he signed last year.

7.) 27 Jul 2017 21:53:17
Yeah SG totally agree, Bartley who 😂

Who in their right mind sets up a team in that way to play a team
Like wolves this season? There was only ever going to be on winner and the amount of goals!

Curahee

1.) 22 Nov 2017 22:58:04
Curahee. As much as I would like too agree. The stats for the game just before vieras red. Was 50/50 % possession with a very similar shots 9/8 to wolves and on target was 4/3 to wolves so with that in mind . It seemed an even enough game until off course going down too 10 men. We also wer on top after making it 2-1 with a great goal by alioski . so not the doom n gloom the score line suggests. Onwards we go. MOT. there is always the next game. 👍👍⚽️⚽️😃

2.) 23 Nov 2017 06:00:58
Well said Batty - Wolves will be promoted in top 2 IMHO
MOT

3.) 23 Nov 2017 06:33:04
Possession Doesn't mean anything if you're two down after 30mins against top of the league. Great we can pass a ball between us as much as them, but when you have to the score
TWO just to get even it means very little! We all know that wolves are almost a certainty to go up. just from talking to the fans I know, I've worked out that wolves like to play in space and are very good at finding it, so surely you don't play against them with an open midfield and 4 forwards! You keep the space they have to a minimum! I'm with woody. Lessons just aren't being learnt, yes we won against borough, but we're hanging on by a thread. Yorkshire derby next, which we are notoriously bad in and then villa! I am getting more concerned by the day! The table is so tight we could find ourselves in deep trouble over Christmas if we don't starting learning lessons and thinking about how the opposition play more carefully

4.) 23 Nov 2017 07:09:15
Agree Cura, I posted yesterday saying we need a defensive performance to prevent damaging the back 4. Any confidence picked up on sunday is lost and the team need a major refreshing. At this rate we are middle of the pack. Carry on this way we will have roughly 60 points by the end of the season, usually play offs is a minimum 75, way off the mark. Forget playing well if its not winning you games. Need a new ST, and GK, would argue that shaugnessy needs to play a lot more too but cooper won't be moved out of the side now that he's captain, ridiculous decision at the start of the season

5.) 23 Nov 2017 08:48:39
Batty is right. The stats., including shots had us equal early in the 2nd half and it looked like we were starting to pick up. You would expect a good side to dominate at home in the first 20-30 minutes of a match. The sending off was a major blow but I’m sure he’ll learn and we need him back in the team after his auto ban.

6.) 23 Nov 2017 10:55:27
Exactly manston ! that's my point, you know they'll dominate the first half an hour, so set up to reflect this! Don't pray you'll hang on for the first part then maybe get a sniff! Smother then, and then grow into the game! I'm not claiming to know the answers, I'm praying for common sense to be used at some point this season.

7.) 23 Nov 2017 12:06:14
Only one stat that counts I am afraid

8.) 23 Nov 2017 12:22:06
Definitely

22 Nov 2017 20:10:51
Let's keep it below 5 tonight lads

Curahee

1.) 22 Nov 2017 20:24:09
Not looking good for that atm :)

2.) 22 Nov 2017 20:47:54
I'm going to revise that. 8 lads, ok no higher than 10

04 Nov 2017 19:30:18
So who would people want? My personal view Is not a fancy European appointment who plays fancy stuff. Some allardyce esc. Such as warnock again, or moyes. Think he could be just what we need at the moment

Curahee

1.) 04 Nov 2017 19:36:12
Moyes? Really, get a grip of yourslf.

2.) 04 Nov 2017 19:44:05
Why not? because of Sunderland?

3.) 04 Nov 2017 19:52:38
Cura your delusional

4.) 04 Nov 2017 19:57:23
Curahee, Everton apart, his record is shocking.

5.) 04 Nov 2017 20:03:21
Preston he did well, Utd he didn't do any worse than van gaal, Sunderland is a sinking ship

6.) 04 Nov 2017 20:19:32
Moyes in on the downward slope. I'm afraid his best days are behind him.

7.) 04 Nov 2017 20:24:54
I'm open to suggestions. I just think it needs be a solid manager who know she English football and plays football which isn't pretty but gets the job done, such as warnock is with Cardiff

8.) 04 Nov 2017 20:57:02
Is there any English manager top 2 in any division worth talking about

9.) 04 Nov 2017 21:06:29
Not one who isn't just on a good run that I can think of wex

10.) 04 Nov 2017 21:07:33
Or even warnock again, given a fair crack of the whip

11.) 05 Nov 2017 16:59:20
Warnock? No effing way!

👋👋👋👋👋👋👋
See you TC, thanks for the 5-0 at burton and the 4 days 2 points clear

Curahee

1.) 04 Nov 2017 19:36:46
Please TC fall on your sword and go now. You seem a nice guy but you clearly have no idea how to stop the rot. It seems like ground hog day every match lately. AR must act now if TC doesn't walk because continue to play his brand of football in the hope it will come good will have us in the relegation places by January. Also take Victor Orta with you please.

Maybe that's the thing kiwi, perhaps they don't have egos. Perhaps that's part of what we now look for on players. team players, young and hungry

Apparently West Ham want Benitez and Newcastle would never go for TC. theyd go for someone they have to pay much more money to for poorer results than TC. So maybe even very terribles for them then! 😂

Me TC is a different breed and so is Rads. I think they're both in it for the long haul and share the vision and dream.

Totally agree sg. if he's only good enough for the championship then clearly no prem team is going to go for him, therefore that leaves the championship teams. none of those can afford £18m for one player without going over FFP rules, so it's just a brainless bit of business from Newcastle. £10m perhaps up to £12m, but £18m is just crazy

THought toon needed to sell! now surely £18m for a player who's great in the second division but can't get in their team in the top division is sort of pricing him out of all moves.

Agreed manston, however there's just no evidence that players will be moved around to provide more cover etc. We change it round once, which appeared to work, then went back to normal. It's all well and good us all saying this is what needs to be tried etc, but at the end of the day the only person who either can't see it, or isn't prepared to try it is the person who can do these things, which ultimately I think will cost him his job! Am I right in thinking we're only 9 points off a relegation battle now? Apart from the first 5/6 games it's relegation form, probably the worst for in the division. People were having a go at moyes for his job at Sunderland, but I honestly don't think TC has a better record. There's always one team who has a barnstormer of a start, but come may are either fighting relegation or hovering just below mid table. At the moment, unfortunately I think that could well be us!
