Hi all, emergency press conference At 5pm has been called by Bielsa. Hopefully it's to unveil Kiko, but knowing our luck he bloody resigns, anyways, up the whites

1.) 16 Jan 2019 16:07:51
Not to unveil Kiko according to the YEP, but more on Spygate. Not sure he needs to say anything more today. Possibly to clearly apologise and clarify that he won’t do it again. Also to keep it seperate from the football press conference tomorrow. Hope it’s nothing more than that, but with Bielsa you never quite know. I thought he looked terrible after the game on Friday but watching his body language talking to Orta yesterday, he seemed a lot more relaxed.

2.) 16 Jan 2019 16:39:48
Oh, no, now I AM worried! Hope you’re right Spanish!

3.) 16 Jan 2019 17:37:35
Sounds like he's calling out the FL, no apologies, he's now doing a PowerPoint thingy to let the press know how a coach's mind works.

4.) 16 Jan 2019 17:54:20
Send a video of it to Fat Frank, he needs all the help he can get and sign it 'love Bubba' :-)

5.) 17 Jan 2019 10:18:17
Fat Frank does all that stuff anyway, have to say, it doesn't show.

14 Jan 2019 10:31:36
Phil Hay says Casilla is due for medical in the middle of the week, despite him being on the bench yesterday, all good team, well get our man. MOT.

30 Jul 2018 13:53:00
I'm hearing that Viera may be set to turn down the move to sampadoria. Any thoughts?

1.) 30 Jul 2018 14:35:06
Personally hope he does turn it down. He still has loads of potential to fulfill, and I'd rather see him do it here than somewhere else like so many others have.

2.) 30 Jul 2018 14:51:51
according to SSN on his way to Genoa for medical as we speak.

3.) 30 Jul 2018 23:01:18
If Bielsa wanted him to stay he wouldn’t be talking to another club. It was clear from pre season that he wasn’t in his first pick and was asked to play differing roles, if he didn’t like that then fair he takes the opportunity to go and we get some money for him. A new manager isn’t going to please everyone or keep them happy. I hope he does well and if he has sent happy with the move he can always reject it and stay and fight for his place. Lots of people on here were always moaning about him!

23 Aug 2017 12:29:43
We've been linked to a Real Madrid striker called Raúl de Tomás, he's technically good, good dead ball player, and a brilliant touch, would suit our front 4 very well, and would fit into our fluidity since woods left, and if things aren't going well we have Grot possibly, a big fella to out jump defenders. Any thoughts?

1.) 23 Aug 2017 12:52:47
Similar strike rate to Saiz in the same Lg last year which bodes well, also younger. Just hope it would be a transfer or loan to buy with an agreed fee, would hate to have him score a load then loose him at the end of the campaign.

2.) 23 Aug 2017 13:16:52
I don't think we had much fluidity with Wood in this setup, to be honest. Lone striker centre-forwards should get way more than three assists in a season if they're doing it right.

3.) 23 Aug 2017 14:38:09
Roofe will become number 9 for now and grot and someone else will come in to compete with ekuban, 4 strikers of similar quality, all with different attributes

4.) 23 Aug 2017 14:48:42
And all very bl00dy exciting!

5.) 23 Aug 2017 15:05:43
Hope not Samo, Roofe did well against a Lg2 defense, we knew he could do that when we bought him. 3 goals in 54 matches against Championship defenses says he isn't a striker at this level to me, our defenders outscore him. Looks more comfortable as a winger/attacking mid where he can find gaps and space to go into. Grot to compete with Ekuban, hopefully another striker coming in as a starter.

6.) 23 Aug 2017 15:23:57
Good post Gummie

7.) 23 Aug 2017 18:14:34

8.) 24 Aug 2017 00:06:36
Definitely take Jota. 100%. ⚽️⚽️⚽️😃

9.) 24 Aug 2017 00:52:02
Where you play him? Similar to Saiz.

10.) 24 Aug 2017 02:13:25
If we are wanting strength in depth to compete throughout this season. Then as you said. Similar too Sammy. So if he were to tire in games or get injured. We have a ready made replacement. And it will add compitition for Sammy too. Don't want him thinking he's an automatic starter with a few good performances. Keeps everyone on their toes. He's a bit more height that Sammy too so could be used more in front off him if needs be. ⚽️⚽️👍😃

21 Aug 2017 15:15:58
Apparently we've placed a £6m bid in for Rudy Gestede, don't know what to think of this, any thoughts?

1.) 21 Aug 2017 15:43:08
Personally I don't believe it, having seen how much better our 3 attacking midfielders have looked against port vale and Sunderland ( without wood) i. e. Target man, I'd like to see us go for a more mobile options/options. We look far more fluid with saiz alioski pablo Ekuban as they all swap n change position it keeps defences guessing . With a target man we look too rigid and they sit deeper to enable a higher ball forward!

2.) 21 Aug 2017 16:46:26
Chuba akpom, nahki wells, Cameron jerome all spring to mind

3.) 21 Aug 2017 17:25:59
What about putting a cheeky bid in for Darren Bent think he would do OK in this Leeds team don't think they would want to let him go but u got to be init to win it. ?

4.) 21 Aug 2017 17:29:36
Actually looks true as in a number of papers and sky . I suppose we have Alli etc crossing in balls so would be good to get someone on the end of them . As for Grot I think this is another one for future, calm down dear.

5.) 21 Aug 2017 20:05:06
Wells is a no go he's had operation on an injury and is out for atleast 6 weeks! I'd love Danny inngs or Shane long, and McCormack on loan

Excellent news to see that the Yorkshire Pirlo has signed a 5 year deal. Cracking contract! My only qualms with this, is about his release clause. Of course he has one, not a problem, but can it only be activated if we don't go up? Because, say in 2-3 years and we're in the premier league, who's to say he isn't worth more than the £20m? Anyways, hope someone can clear this up.

1.) 10 Sep 2019 12:06:29
I think it is in place if we don't go up this season. This allows the player to leave for the PL and allows the club to retain value on the asset. I think a fair deal for both sides. If we went up, I suspect that a number of contracts would be reviewed. The length of contract is more linked to the value of the release clause (between £20-£25m)

2.) 10 Sep 2019 13:05:31
Delboy It's not a release as such. It's more of a firm commitment from Leeds to sell to a PL club if certain conditions are met. Transfer fee offer which will probably need to be in the region of £25m and Leeds still being in the Championship will be the other factor. So it's not a release as such, just a commitment to sell in certain market conditions. If Leeds are in the PL, the "release" clause will be inapplicable. Notts is correct with "asset protection".

3.) 10 Sep 2019 19:42:32
If we are in the premiership, he’ll never leave .

16 Jan 2019 18:53:29
I'm a Sussex boy and a lot of my friends are Brighton fans. Mate sends me a link saying Bielsa to resign as Leeds boss in press conference. He says " i'd so laugh if he leaves".

Bielsa gives a detailed analysis of derby county. My friend texts me saying "but of a d**k isn't he? He just wants to show off. "

In summary, we can't win 😂.

1.) 16 Jan 2019 19:13:31
He’s a bit of a genius actually.

2.) 16 Jan 2019 19:55:29
I bet he’s great fun at parties!

3.) 16 Jan 2019 20:17:10
I bet his online shopping takes ages tho. Analysing each product, their performance etc.

4.) 16 Jan 2019 21:15:28
Spooky Delboy I’m a sussex boy and my brother a spurs fan (don’t ask! ) said the exact same thing! And another Mate Brighton season ticket holder just said “why is he making it worse”? As you say he cannot win, but then genius is most often misunderstood and creates fear through ignorance.

Mezzer called this correctly couple of days ago this is not a legal test (there is no breach) but a trial by popular media that requires heat to sell column inches and advertising space.

20 Dec 2018 14:47:50
I think darlow will sign in January, been said any outfield players will be a loan. I personally think Ibai Gomez will sign, guy has played under Bielsa at Bilbao, and wouldn't take anytime at all to fit into the style of play. He's a quality winger in Spain and means we can push Hernandez into the 10. Plus a loan will fit as he has 6 months left on the contract. Any thoughts?

1.) 20 Dec 2018 15:15:01
I think Pablo is a player with great guile but I feel he operates better on the wing and coming inside. As a number 10 he is easier to pick up and nullify. Brown is being lined up for the number 10 role but can we rely upon his fitness?

2.) 20 Dec 2018 19:37:57
Delboy Don't want Darling. Do want Gomez.

Notts Spot on.

3.) 20 Dec 2018 19:42:05
is brown that good even if fit? i don't know much about him but beleiev he had one bang average season in championship and that's it. what's his track record?

4.) 20 Dec 2018 21:01:31
I think 2 promotions from this league and around half a season at Brighton in the PL, so all in all, not too shabby :)

5.) 20 Dec 2018 21:50:06
Berm Been saying for a while now, Brown has the capacity to become world class. So yes he's good enough.

6.) 20 Dec 2018 22:44:17
Yes he is berm.

7.) 21 Dec 2018 10:03:56
sounds good to me, cheers i literally knew nothing about him, good to know he has a decent c. v.

18 Dec 2018 19:06:59

How did Luke know what Darth Vader got him for Christmas?

He felt his presents.

10 Dec 2018 11:35:37
Hi guys, off topic, but I have a question for aus and kiwi and other Aussie and kiwi readers. Are u guys from them countries and support Leeds? Or originally from Yorkshire or England in general! I'm from Sussex and love Leeds, so yeah, just intrigued.

1.) 10 Dec 2018 12:55:46
From Essex mate. Grew up with the revie era.
Been in aus 20 yrs.

2.) 10 Dec 2018 13:24:41
That's really cool, my earliest memory of Leeds is watching my dads reaction to final score and Leeds losing and is veiny relegated to the championship. So hopefully this season will be my fondest memory of being a Leeds fan ahah.

3.) 10 Dec 2018 14:03:58
now i feel really old ; (.

4.) 10 Dec 2018 14:49:43
I am kiwi through and through. Of this I am very happy. Alas the downside is that I have never had the chance to see the whites in the flesh. Even if I make it to Perth next year I fear the experience will lack the zest of true competition. Keep up the good work you lot over there. It warms the cockles of my heart every time I hear MOT belting out from the tell.

5.) 10 Dec 2018 16:00:56
So do I Alf! I remember almost going on a coach to watch the European Cup final, not going because my grandad could only get one ticket on the coach and no one could take me! So watched it on the tv at their house and threw my bobble hat up to get caught on the light fitting when I thought Peter Lorimer had scored! I think I cried a bit that night!

6.) 10 Dec 2018 17:10:55
Born in Leeds, Coached junior football in Leeds (including a couple of Leeds players to be) and played Yorkshire league. Work took me to East Yorkshire when I was in my 30's. Still there.

7.) 10 Dec 2018 18:11:07
Been a fan for 40+ years and never been to Yorkshire let alone Leeds. Kiwi through and through.

8.) 10 Dec 2018 18:51:40
Nice to hear all the stories, we all come to the club from deifferent eras and different reasons. I met a few of the scandavian families during their recent visit, incredible! There was one family from Norway, with a load of kids and the tradition was on the 10 th birthday they make a trip to Elland Road as part of the family celebration! Lovely, they’ve got one kid left under 10! The mum hand knitted bobble hats for everyone in Leeds colours. I was sat in the peacock with them and mum produces a bottle of vodka from her bag, to help with the cold!

9.) 10 Dec 2018 19:25:30
Oh Hess, nobody deserves that, my sympathies ;)

10.) 10 Dec 2018 19:29:49
I was born down south, grew up with all my mates being fans of Chelsea, spurs and arsenal. I didn't want to follow the crowd, this was the late 60s, so I chose Leeds. Moved to the Midlands in the 1970s where my dad's family was from and still there now. Leeds is in my blood, witnessed some really great times and some not so. Try to get up to Leeds as often as i can.

11.) 10 Dec 2018 22:10:11
I was taken by my Dad in 1964 v Scunthorpe and been a fan ever since. My Dad is still alive, he first went to ER in the forties, he is now over 90 years old, he has virtually lost his sight so he only goes once a season just to say he has been, but listens to every game and all the news regarding the Whites on Radio Leeds. He is determined to witness us return to the Premier League, hopefully this season he will get his wish.

12.) 10 Dec 2018 22:43:31
Always nice to hear all the different ways that we became Leeds fans, especially the lads from abroad and other far flung corners of the country.

13.) 11 Dec 2018 08:10:49
Born and bred in Sydney mate. When I was a lad the only football coverage we got was Jimmy Hill and Match of the Day and Shoot magazine about a month after it issued. You only ever heard about a few teams and TBH I can't recall what is was that attracted me to Leeds except, maybe even then, it was them against the rest. Can't get to Perth due to work, but will be moving heaven and earth to get a ticket for the Sydney game.
