I'm hearing that Viera may be set to turn down the move to sampadoria. Any thoughts?

1.) 30 Jul 2018 14:35:06
Personally hope he does turn it down. He still has loads of potential to fulfill, and I'd rather see him do it here than somewhere else like so many others have.

2.) 30 Jul 2018 14:51:51
according to SSN on his way to Genoa for medical as we speak.

3.) 30 Jul 2018 23:01:18
If Bielsa wanted him to stay he wouldn’t be talking to another club. It was clear from pre season that he wasn’t in his first pick and was asked to play differing roles, if he didn’t like that then fair he takes the opportunity to go and we get some money for him. A new manager isn’t going to please everyone or keep them happy. I hope he does well and if he has sent happy with the move he can always reject it and stay and fight for his place. Lots of people on here were always moaning about him!

23 Aug 2017 12:29:43
We've been linked to a Real Madrid striker called Raúl de Tomás, he's technically good, good dead ball player, and a brilliant touch, would suit our front 4 very well, and would fit into our fluidity since woods left, and if things aren't going well we have Grot possibly, a big fella to out jump defenders. Any thoughts?

1.) 23 Aug 2017 12:52:47
Similar strike rate to Saiz in the same Lg last year which bodes well, also younger. Just hope it would be a transfer or loan to buy with an agreed fee, would hate to have him score a load then loose him at the end of the campaign.

2.) 23 Aug 2017 13:16:52
I don't think we had much fluidity with Wood in this setup, to be honest. Lone striker centre-forwards should get way more than three assists in a season if they're doing it right.

3.) 23 Aug 2017 14:38:09
Roofe will become number 9 for now and grot and someone else will come in to compete with ekuban, 4 strikers of similar quality, all with different attributes

4.) 23 Aug 2017 14:48:42
And all very bl00dy exciting!

5.) 23 Aug 2017 15:05:43
Hope not Samo, Roofe did well against a Lg2 defense, we knew he could do that when we bought him. 3 goals in 54 matches against Championship defenses says he isn't a striker at this level to me, our defenders outscore him. Looks more comfortable as a winger/attacking mid where he can find gaps and space to go into. Grot to compete with Ekuban, hopefully another striker coming in as a starter.

6.) 23 Aug 2017 15:23:57
Good post Gummie

7.) 23 Aug 2017 18:14:34

8.) 24 Aug 2017 00:06:36
Definitely take Jota. 100%. ⚽️⚽️⚽️😃

9.) 24 Aug 2017 00:52:02
Where you play him? Similar to Saiz.

10.) 24 Aug 2017 02:13:25
If we are wanting strength in depth to compete throughout this season. Then as you said. Similar too Sammy. So if he were to tire in games or get injured. We have a ready made replacement. And it will add compitition for Sammy too. Don't want him thinking he's an automatic starter with a few good performances. Keeps everyone on their toes. He's a bit more height that Sammy too so could be used more in front off him if needs be. ⚽️⚽️👍😃

21 Aug 2017 15:15:58
Apparently we've placed a £6m bid in for Rudy Gestede, don't know what to think of this, any thoughts?

1.) 21 Aug 2017 15:43:08
Personally I don't believe it, having seen how much better our 3 attacking midfielders have looked against port vale and Sunderland ( without wood) i. e. Target man, I'd like to see us go for a more mobile options/options. We look far more fluid with saiz alioski pablo Ekuban as they all swap n change position it keeps defences guessing . With a target man we look too rigid and they sit deeper to enable a higher ball forward!

2.) 21 Aug 2017 16:46:26
Chuba akpom, nahki wells, Cameron jerome all spring to mind

3.) 21 Aug 2017 17:25:59
What about putting a cheeky bid in for Darren Bent think he would do OK in this Leeds team don't think they would want to let him go but u got to be init to win it. ?

4.) 21 Aug 2017 17:29:36
Actually looks true as in a number of papers and sky . I suppose we have Alli etc crossing in balls so would be good to get someone on the end of them . As for Grot I think this is another one for future, calm down dear.

5.) 21 Aug 2017 20:05:06
Wells is a no go he's had operation on an injury and is out for atleast 6 weeks! I'd love Danny inngs or Shane long, and McCormack on loan

16 Jul 2017 13:57:14
I have a feeling that we won't be signing a left back, I think beradi will play there considering we have cover there, any thoughts ?

1.) 16 Jul 2017 15:08:45
Who's the cover Delboy? Coyle is out on loan and Taylor gone. Unless one of the newbies can cover, but considering Beradi is a right back I think I'd like to see a true left back in the squad.

2.) 16 Jul 2017 15:37:48
Ayling can play there, cooper, and Alioski plays there for Macedonia. Personally I hope we sign a left back, but beradi played awfully well there.

3.) 16 Jul 2017 15:39:50
Denton is a left back

4.) 16 Jul 2017 16:33:07
Betahdi can play anywhere wouldn't cloning be cheaper?

5.) 16 Jul 2017 16:46:56
Why not clone Michael Brown? We all dream of a team of Michael Browns don't we?

6.) 16 Jul 2017 19:41:16
Ain't we linked with Borthwick-Jackson from Man U as the new left back

7.) 16 Jul 2017 19:53:33
If we get Jackson that is

8.) 17 Jul 2017 10:23:42
Anita Denton Ayling Could all play as either full back I'd like the lad at Celtic at LB, but that's unlikely Well, till next season ;-) Need two (or three ) centre backs as a priority

9.) 17 Jul 2017 13:31:30
TC has supposedly said he sees Anita as a full back so I'm guessing we just found out who our new LB is, unless he is thinking of playing Ayling or Berardi out of position.

10.) 18 Jul 2017 13:28:46
I'm still unconvinced on the signing of Anita as a right-back. We just didn't need one. Ayling at centre would be even less convincing. Berardi would do well wherever he plays but, in my opinion, should be playing on the right. What we're left with is needing two centre-halves and a left-back. Midfield I think we did well for signings. Defence, we signed a player for the only position we've got covered.

04 Jul 2017 17:44:02
Supposedly, the new kit is said to be announced tomorrow, so what are our guesses in what said kit will look like. Or if there's anyone in the know what does it look like. Food for thought!

1.) 04 Jul 2017 18:03:25
Red shirt, white shorts, black socks. Only kidding that's the new away kit! 😉
Got a feeling the home kit will be predominantly white with a bit of blue and yellow on it somewhere, in fact I'd put money on it! 😀
Seriously though, I think they've done very well to keep it a secret this long if it is to be unveiled tomorrow.

2.) 04 Jul 2017 18:11:31
Said on newsnow that it's announced tomorrow.

3.) 04 Jul 2017 18:37:54
Something to look forward to, Delboy
We just need a few more decent players in now to wear it!

4.) 04 Jul 2017 19:22:21
Yeah, let's hope, don't know what's wrong with this new gaffer, he hasn't even given me a call yet

5.) 07 Jul 2017 07:13:25
Wow, I'm glad I didn't put money on it! 😀

Hi guys, off topic, but I have a question for aus and kiwi and other Aussie and kiwi readers. Are u guys from them countries and support Leeds? Or originally from Yorkshire or England in general! I'm from Sussex and love Leeds, so yeah, just intrigued.

1.) 10 Dec 2018 12:55:46
From Essex mate. Grew up with the revie era.
Been in aus 20 yrs.

2.) 10 Dec 2018 13:24:41
That's really cool, my earliest memory of Leeds is watching my dads reaction to final score and Leeds losing and is veiny relegated to the championship. So hopefully this season will be my fondest memory of being a Leeds fan ahah.

3.) 10 Dec 2018 14:03:58
now i feel really old ; (.

4.) 10 Dec 2018 14:49:43
I am kiwi through and through. Of this I am very happy. Alas the downside is that I have never had the chance to see the whites in the flesh. Even if I make it to Perth next year I fear the experience will lack the zest of true competition. Keep up the good work you lot over there. It warms the cockles of my heart every time I hear MOT belting out from the tell.

5.) 10 Dec 2018 16:00:56
So do I Alf! I remember almost going on a coach to watch the European Cup final, not going because my grandad could only get one ticket on the coach and no one could take me! So watched it on the tv at their house and threw my bobble hat up to get caught on the light fitting when I thought Peter Lorimer had scored! I think I cried a bit that night!

6.) 10 Dec 2018 17:10:55
Born in Leeds, Coached junior football in Leeds (including a couple of Leeds players to be) and played Yorkshire league. Work took me to East Yorkshire when I was in my 30's. Still there.

7.) 10 Dec 2018 18:11:07
Been a fan for 40+ years and never been to Yorkshire let alone Leeds. Kiwi through and through.

8.) 10 Dec 2018 18:51:40
Nice to hear all the stories, we all come to the club from deifferent eras and different reasons. I met a few of the scandavian families during their recent visit, incredible! There was one family from Norway, with a load of kids and the tradition was on the 10 th birthday they make a trip to Elland Road as part of the family celebration! Lovely, they’ve got one kid left under 10! The mum hand knitted bobble hats for everyone in Leeds colours. I was sat in the peacock with them and mum produces a bottle of vodka from her bag, to help with the cold!

9.) 10 Dec 2018 19:25:30
Oh Hess, nobody deserves that, my sympathies ;)

10.) 10 Dec 2018 19:29:49
I was born down south, grew up with all my mates being fans of Chelsea, spurs and arsenal. I didn't want to follow the crowd, this was the late 60s, so I chose Leeds. Moved to the Midlands in the 1970s where my dad's family was from and still there now. Leeds is in my blood, witnessed some really great times and some not so. Try to get up to Leeds as often as i can.

11.) 10 Dec 2018 22:10:11
I was taken by my Dad in 1964 v Scunthorpe and been a fan ever since. My Dad is still alive, he first went to ER in the forties, he is now over 90 years old, he has virtually lost his sight so he only goes once a season just to say he has been, but listens to every game and all the news regarding the Whites on Radio Leeds. He is determined to witness us return to the Premier League, hopefully this season he will get his wish.

12.) 10 Dec 2018 22:43:31
Always nice to hear all the different ways that we became Leeds fans, especially the lads from abroad and other far flung corners of the country.

13.) 11 Dec 2018 08:10:49
Born and bred in Sydney mate. When I was a lad the only football coverage we got was Jimmy Hill and Match of the Day and Shoot magazine about a month after it issued. You only ever heard about a few teams and TBH I can't recall what is was that attracted me to Leeds except, maybe even then, it was them against the rest. Can't get to Perth due to work, but will be moving heaven and earth to get a ticket for the Sydney game.

24 Nov 2018 14:00:59
Hi guys, I was wondering if anyone knew any place to get a radio commentary of sort?

1.) 24 Nov 2018 17:28:09
Try Leedsmedia on face ache next time.

07 Nov 2018 10:21:56
Hi all, I woke up this morning m, and as I do every morning I checked the Leeds rumours. I saw this brand new glistening, yellow, Leeds United kit. First away kit in a few years that I've looked at and thought, that's Leeds United.

1.) 07 Nov 2018 10:50:56
Trouble is Pontus will start talking to his team mates in Swedish when they're wearing it. 😂😂.

2.) 07 Nov 2018 10:55:19
I agree Dellboy, it it’s a more traditional away shirt than the black or blues paint job. But 5th shirt in just over a year!

3.) 07 Nov 2018 12:16:02
Agree. Home white. Away yellow
See your point though Spanish. There should only be one a year. Spose we got to pay Bielsas salary though!

28 Sep 2018 09:16:41
Right, I'll say it early, what is wrong with Kalvin Phillips, cost us the bloody game. Cooper, what a liabilly and don't get me started on Alioski😂😂.
On another note,
3-0 Leeds, Roberts with another brace, saiz will beat 3-4 players then score with a a fine finish, and Kalvo will bag a 30 yard screamer. going to put £50 on that, then check myself back into the loony bin.

1.) 28 Sep 2018 14:44:00
Sounds a reasonable bet to me! ’.

2.) 28 Sep 2018 16:46:30
Bookies must love you, brace for Roberts, a superb Saiz goal, a screamer from Kalv, and you've got £50 on 3-0? just saying ;)

3.) 28 Sep 2018 19:40:35
Maybe i counted wrong😂😂 too exited mate ahahah.

23 Sep 2018 14:46:33
It's Sunday Funday everyone, Leeds lose but we're still on top, and Anthony Joshua still holds the titles and is undefeated. So happy weekend all round for me.

I would like to carry on the KP discussion with you guys, discussion, not argument. I will attack this from a different angle and say why he is slow and what makes him different to others that play the same holding role.

Others who have played his role successfully, like David Batty, Chelski players like Makele and Kante. These players have one thing in common, they're small, and have little weight on them, but have a lot of aggression.

Kalvin Phillips, on the other hand, seems like he has hit the gym and is going for a more stocky look. Since he now carries more weight, he has became stronger. However, he isn't as pacy as he should be.

So to me, if I was him, or the clubs dietitian I would be speaking to KP to shed a few pounds and this will improve your overall game, as you will be able to cover more ground quicker.

Bermo, BIGE, I hope this adds to the discussion, and as you guys know I am a big KP fan, but I agree that he lacks pace. This is how I would combat it.

1.) 23 Sep 2018 15:03:47
Think he has been trying to up his stamina levels because he has always struggled to play 3 games a week but agree with you about his pace, needs to get a bit leaner, up to coaches to work on it and his diet. Maybe have a red bull before each game.

2.) 23 Sep 2018 15:24:02
Or what Strachan used to say, bannanergy, eat a banana before the game or something, I dunno.

3.) 23 Sep 2018 15:40:11
i agree and good point he can be leaner but also just don't think pace is his game.

I do feel sorry for him with people like me getting on his back as he is knew to the role, I don't think he has a natural ability to sniff out danger like batty kante etc. also think he is not a great tackler, but this is not his game, also think batty can't lace KP's boots when it comes to passing. I honestly think he is in top ten passers in the game and last year further up feild played well.

i know it is different world but i use to play right wing and was quick, i'm not old and fat and slow so play in goal. Occassionaly i have to play on pitch i foul everyone because i'm too slow and i see this with KP. I don't think he is the best player but i also think he is being used very badly by MB, which spanish pointed out is not KP's fault.

funny you mention Strachan i went in the dessing room to meet all the players in 90 before a wimbledon game, steve hodge showed me around, i had photo taken with lukic and met srachan who had a chat with me and batty. Strachan was eating a bannan as we were speaking about 30 minutes before kick off. I was only six and remember feeling a bit sorry for him that they didn't have any choclate or something better for him to eat, like it was pack lunch at school.

4.) 23 Sep 2018 16:23:21
Haha great story bermo, at my level of football it's 2 pints of bitter before the game instead of the old banana. Dare say old Vinnie shares the same thoughts as me when it comes to pre match rituals 😂.

5.) 23 Sep 2018 19:32:30
Haha Bermo the obvious photo of you and Lukic now explains your reasoning that John was better than Big Nigel!
Anyway let’s leave muscular KP alone mate as we all need to pull in the same direction and we are Leeds we are Leeds.
I’ve seen too many young players get a hard time at ER over the years without you my cockney mate adding to the problem.

6.) 23 Sep 2018 20:02:53
Del Boy there’s one big difference between batty kante etc. they are proper premier league players whereas KP is not.
The lad is doing more than ok and thank god for that as we have nobody else for his role. MOT.

7.) 23 Sep 2018 20:12:42
I reckon Dallas could play in that position and make it his own. He can tackle, run with the ball and pick a pass.

8.) 23 Sep 2018 20:18:43
Thing is, KP will improve cork, and no better person to improve him and better him that MB!

9.) 23 Sep 2018 21:22:10
I think Dallas is a good shout, if KP fails. I wasn't a great fan of Milner as any sort of attacker, especially a winger but since moving to the back he has been described as the best pound for pound defender and I agree. He does not hve the quick brain or feet of Georgie Best but he does have heart and lungs of Maldini and I think the same could be said of Dallas, if tried. He will give a 100%, put a tackle in and get around the pitch. Come on MB see it, give him a go.

10.) 23 Sep 2018 22:07:22
corky i played the other day and think a shot of meth might of improved my game! very true about KP and even i have to admit he wears the weight well and certainly a lot better than i do! also he seems a smart lad and with mb and expereince i have no doubt he will get better in the role

and of course the photo explains a lot! i have been in love with Sir John Lukic since i have been six, my youngest middle name was nealry lukic and she is a girl and I spoke to his agent about getting him to marry us but the chruch wouldn't allow it (both true facts sadly)

you think my views on Kp are strong you want to hear them on sir john. you see it is not my opinion but fact. Lukic is the greatest goalkeeper. nay footballber. nay person to ever walk this planet and any one who thinks otherwise is just wrong. again not opinion fact and I will fight anyone to the death who thinks otherwise.

11.) 24 Sep 2018 08:02:40
Lukic is indeed a living God.

12.) 24 Sep 2018 12:35:29
He doesn't like playing under lights tho does he? ;)

13.) 24 Sep 2018 18:40:26
is this s slur on Lkic Al because i will find you.

Ok his whole career he scored 4 I think, 2 for Leeds and 2 for Blackburn I think.
