I'm pretty sure 99% that Bielsa will stay!
New players talking about working with him, walking around Leeds in new training gear etc! I just wondered why there might be a delay in announcing it? Maybe they are looking at a longer contract,2 year's possibly?

I've always thought it would only be one year at a time! It would be great if he looked on it as a 2 year project!
Also quite excited by the influx of young players! I know some of you will say we need premier league experience but do we?

I love to see hungry ambitious, brave young players and I think with Bielsa coaching them and the steadying influences of our more experienced players, we could be in for some exciting times! MOT.

The delay in Bielsa signing is interesting When accompanied by all this don’t worry it’s a formality! If it’s a formality just bloody sign it! Bielsa has been burnt before on promised players not arriving and he has walked very quickly. Also for me, it’s much less clear what our objective is for the new year and if it is just to survive, it’s not very sexy. Add into that already he is in Uncharted waters with a third year. Can’t see him agreeing to more than one year, not his style and also think he will want to be very clear on what success looks like this year and what resources he will have. In some ways better to walk away having got the club back to the premiership than to walk away after a messy fight to survive.

Reading what Carlos Corberan had to say about Luke Aylings influence on the younger players made me realise how lucky we are to have a core of seasoned professionals at Leeds! I think Coops, Pablo, Dallas and Luke are the glue holding the loanies and younger players together! Also I think they are probably good men as well with good moral backgrounds! We are very lucky! MOT.

Think Bubs instills a strict moral code throughout the club, maybe that's why PJ had to go. Players involved a lot in community projects and visits to kiddies in hospital to ground them. Having players like Luke, KP, and Coops around helps with young ones development both on and off the pitch.

2.) 18 Sep 2019 12:40:07
Agree DSW. Watching the U23’s the other night, the way the senior players gave their all like it was a league match, and celebrated passionately with them was just class. I think the whole “team” ethic is now running thro the whole of the club.

Put on that shirt
Nothing else is acceptable.

Rumours emerging again about Kent from Liverpool. Bielsa apparently watched him at weekend!

Down south White

1.) 16 Jul 2019 09:30:03
Blimey, we already have Henandez, Clarke, Harrison and Costa in the wide positions. And by all accounts Shackleton, Steven's and Gotts can play wide too

Does anyone think/ know if this rumour has any basis in fact?

2.) 16 Jul 2019 10:09:06
Yeh, I thought once we got Costa the Kent deal would go away.

3.) 16 Jul 2019 13:18:01
Hey, no doubt would be a great acquisition, only concern is if the rumour of Burnley interest in klitch has momentum who do we have to mix it up in the midfield? Teams are going to route one us attacking through centre while we are plan A - get the ball and attack out wide with no plan B of having good attacking options in the middle.

Just a concern, hope it makes sense. I’m sure MB will have this in mind.

Onwards and upwards.

4.) 17 Jul 2019 11:52:33
Really wouldn't want Klich to go, I lived his energy early on on the season.
Thought he was less effective near the final months of the season but that's not his fault as he was a constant in the side AND he was also representing Poland too.
Hopefully he can be assisted this year by a more experienced Shakleton and an injury free Forshaw

I wouldn't mind us taking Gibson off their hands should Roofe be wanted by them. As you all should know by now, I rate Roofe, but that said I don't see him as undroppable.
Given the possession stats and chances Leeds create I think 25 goals a season should be the target for any No9 we play (even if it was Edmondson) .

Don't know if I've ever seen someone nutmeg a player standing behind them but it was a joy to behold! I think the move should be forever known as a Rafa! Some of his passing last night was amazing!
I also liked the shake of the head and look of disappointment at the final whistle as if he wanted more!

Will be on soccer AM this week, all aboard the show boat, and grealish will be played by the old Susie woman on the diving board.

Found myself looking UP the league table again after last nights win! Yeah I know I shouldn't! I still think with a little consistent form we could reel 3 or 4 of the above teams in! Saints, Villa, Everton, even W. Ham. Surely on our day we are more than equal to these teams? Just need a little consistency starting with maybe draw on Sunday? I think perhaps we can get something from Palace and Everton! MOT.

1.) 27 Jan 2021 18:42:53
As a newly promoted club we are doing marginally better than I expected; a point at Leicester would be most pleasing DSW.

2.) 27 Jan 2021 18:46:30
You’ll start you’re nose bleeds of again DSW!

Well we won Away at Everton and you know where, West Ham going very well just now Southampton having a little dip of late. Realistically we are going to be playing the majority of the season without any of our first choice CB’s so I’d be surprised to see us finishing above those teams snd would very happy with us good and safe this season.

3.) 27 Jan 2021 18:59:30
Guys a point against Leicester would be great but I don't really hope out much hope, I think they got too much for us to be honest. But we live in hope.

4.) 27 Jan 2021 19:07:16
Oxygen cylinder being delivered tomorrow, Class
Can’t begrudge a man a little bit of dreaming in these drab times! Still waiting for the bubble to burst for you know who😜.

5.) 27 Jan 2021 19:26:18
Totally agree with you Class, definitely wouldn’t get too carried away DSW, as much as I want to see a positive slant on the amount of victories this season, realistically we are not going to get them. Too many injuries in defense.

6.) 27 Jan 2021 19:33:47
Ha ha DSW think best we leave bubble in tact whilst they’re beating the teams below us 👍.

7.) 27 Jan 2021 20:04:08
Oops, bubble gone a bit flat tonight! 😜.

01 Jan 2021 19:39:30
Alf. if Villa lose later and we beat Spurs tomorrow we would move onto 26pts, level with six other teams! Equal 5th but with the worst good of the lot! Which would mean we remain in 11th! Just a thought! 😜.

Down south White

1.) 01 Jan 2021 20:31:52
If teams above us lose tomorrow and we beat Spurs 14 nil then we’ll be 6th.
I thank you and good night.
That’s my very last Absinthe, chin chin.

2.) 01 Jan 2021 22:14:19
Well Vile did their bit and lost, well were scammed in all honesty. Very dubious penalty but who cares.

3.) 02 Jan 2021 01:54:50
The Vile being scammed Canada? Now that is a shame 😂🤪.

4.) 02 Jan 2021 08:57:03
Just imagine that DSW!

31 Dec 2020 08:44:18
Come on . I'm sure you are all doing it?
Glancing UP the league table instead of down!
The table is very tight at the moment!
To be 3pts behind 5th place is absolutely amazing! If we had been offered that at the start of the season we would have taken it gladly!
3 more games to the half way mark! If we could grab 7pts from these we would be sitting pretty on 30pts! Nearly safe and no tension for the 2nd half of the season!
I'm probably getting carried away but it is nice to look UP.

1.) 31 Dec 2020 08:56:34
Yep, guilty as charged mate. Keep checking the table. Getting to the 40 points mark looks more likely than not, anything else is a bonus. Winning against the teams towards the lower half of the table is key and so far so good. I do think Spurs are likely to beat us and yes we will lose several games by maybe big scores. But we are also capable of the type of result like WBA game to a few in this league.

2.) 31 Dec 2020 10:05:34
Ha ha I was looking at that after the WBA game as well - only 3pts behind 5th is very tasty but safety has to be the first goal. Like you say if we can get a decent points haul in the next 2 or 3 games we should be able to relax a bit going into the final half of the season. Wouldn't that be amazing!

3.) 31 Dec 2020 10:42:47
Wont be too disheartened to lose at Spurs, considering Mourinho is a tactical master, (dont like to see us lose, but I'm a realist) , BHA, Soton and Newcastle much more realistic point gains, don't want a tanking thou.

4.) 31 Dec 2020 13:00:57
Spent while season looking up and I’m the most negative in here. There is no reason to look down Nd that ain’t acceptable. Spurs have hit a bump in the road and we are flying high no reason we can’t win, that said a loss is acceptable as long as it ain’t by four goals and a repeate of what we have seen before.

30 Dec 2020 18:09:26
I wonder how much our heavy pitch is affecting our home form/ results?
Last night at West brom on what seemed like a cracking pitch we played some of our best football of the season!
Maybe Spurs new ground will suit our game!
Mind you it didn't help at old Trafford!

1.) 30 Dec 2020 18:48:26
Has it rained more in Leeds than anywhere else or have we over watered?
Dont ever really recall any recent drainage issues at ER.

2.) 30 Dec 2020 21:32:55
Big drainage issues! The groundsmen wanted to relay pitch in the summer but no time to do the work!

3.) 30 Dec 2020 23:07:13
I hear it is because the football is so good eve the rain don’t want to leave and miss it.

Thought he did well! I think he is quite calm and assured!
Just hope he can have a little injury free run now to build up fitness and confidence! He will want to show what he can do after such a terrible start to his Leeds career!
I thought Messlier is looking much stronger on crosses and coming to catch the ball! Going to be a great keeper!
I’ve noticed last couple of games that Cooper seems to be getting on the end of Raphs crosses! Maybe something they have been working on!
Costa looked at it again last night which is great but when people dismiss Harrison they forget the amount of hard work he gets through every game!
First twenty minutes I could barely watch, last twenty I was glued to the box!
Hopefully Kelvin ready for Villa game but if he needs time then that’s more important! MOT.

Thanks 1970, I had seen parts of the article but very good!
I really like the last paragraph, which is thanking the club for responding to criticism! I really love reading his words and think we are truly blessed to have him as our manager!

I think the most important thing atm is to get a little run of consistent results going! Potentially the chance to get a few decent results coming up and also build some confidence! Hopefully the newly laid pitch holds up tonight as well! Some of the passing at Leicester was back on form! Strangely another aspect I enjoyed at Leicester was the odd trip or pull back in the right areas to break up play!
Maybe getting a bit more PL savvy?
