Links to Norwegian LWB Bjorkan (22) gaining traction, can also play LB, RB and RWB. 100 apps for Bodo/ Glimt, couple of clubs across Europe chasing him. Don't know much about the Norwegian league so no idea how good he is but 7 or 8 clubs seem to be looking (mainly mid to lower prem teams) . Would like a known quantity but contract is nearly up so could be cheap, little risk.

He is a cracker the Norway lad just what we need.

Doing the rounds that us and Brighton weighing up a £7m Jan transfer for Sam Johnstone from WBA.
Hopefully we are looking at a second Keeper but I'm expecting a veteran player to give us a season or two while Meslier works on his craft (Romero or similar) rather than a 27 year old. That's surely a first choice for the next 6 or 7 years and I can't see Ilian warming the bench that long.

Adama Traore linked again. Would be a good addition but a large chunk of cash for a player in a position we aren't desperate for.

After watching the Lufctv vid interview of Bamford I have to say I'm really excited by Harrison. Bamford made all the right noises but Harrison looked lightning in comparison during the bleep test bit, if he can cross/ score too we will be laughing.

Vydra deal maybe not dead yet. Pics appearing on Twitter of him (or his doppleganger) in Leeds city centre. When asked by the guy who took the pics he supposedly confirmed his identity. Asked if he was signing for Leeds he said 'not yet' so maybe in town to re-discuss terms? pic sent to sightings page.

Gummie

1.) 27 Jul 2018 03:37:56
We are not signing anyone who knows how to score. Probably "own goal" will be our top scorer this season.

2.) 27 Jul 2018 09:28:43
would he have been better off discussing terms at ER or Thorpe Arch? unlikely to get a deal done in the Trinity Centre is he?

3.) 27 Jul 2018 11:28:10
Was there a sale on?

4.) 27 Jul 2018 14:15:08
yes it was the House of Fraser blue cross sale. was really good if you missed it. I got a nice blind for my back bedroom (not a euphemism btw)

On the subject of the pitch the last few months-
First pitch chews up (due to bad weather fair enough) .
We shell out £300k for a second, a copy of the Spurs pitch, and it's unplayable and chews through too.
Everyone seems to be saying Spurs took us for mugs but is it just me that thinks the ground staff need to be at least looked at? Other clubs, much smaller clubs, have had the same weather to deal with and are fine, the same pitch at spurs is still good, doesn't it make sense it's someone our end that's the problem? Because in all honesty we keep talking about us bringing in players with biscuit legs but I don't think we are doing ourselves any favours with the surfaces they have been playing on.

Gummie

1.) 24 Feb 2021 06:33:57
It's the drainage underneath the pitch that is the issue. It was supposed to be redone before the season but we didn't have time due to the shortened pre season. Tbh I would have been more surprised if the pitch had taken in such a short time from being laid. For some reason we seem to get a lot of rain in Leeds which is playing havoc.

2.) 24 Feb 2021 06:48:08
What i didn't understand was why they had the sprinklers on beforehand, surely that made it worse!

3.) 24 Feb 2021 08:59:49
It’s grim up north and winters coming. southern pitch don’t like it.

Koch has posted a pic of himself back in the gym.
Llorente and Poveda back in full training.
Kalvin and Rodrigo not far off.
Might we actually, finally, see our strongest 18 some time in March?

Gumbo It's 20 now and only if Forshaw returns to fitness lol 😂.

Cuba Cline has joined from Liverpool. 16 so probs won't hear anything about him for a while though.

To all Man U fans, we don’t want any of your crap players in any sort of deal for Raphinha, if you want him its 200 million, don’t want to give you anything that may help you win anything .

Reports that Oddsune Edouard could be available for as little as £15m in the summer, got to be worth a punt at that price. Can play St or Rw, 56 goals and 24 assists in 95 apps in the Scottish prem. Still only 23. If the rumours of another £100m to spend in the summer are true it would give us great competition/ cover for Paddy and Raphinha for a relatively low spend.
Him (£15m) , DePaul (£35m) leaves us another £50m for a LWB and a backup GK.

Have watched him a few times and don’t think he would be up to Premier football. Mind ya, Viduka made his name at Celtic so you never know. Do agree with De Paul and a keeper who is good with his hands and his feet. MOT.

Just had a look at the summer free agents list. A lot of big name over 30's on stupid wages but 2 names do jump out. Draxler is finishing with PGS, if memory serves he told us he wanted to see out his contract before discussing his next move, could be worth a call to see where his heads at, and Memphis Depay. He struggled his first run at the prem but still only 26, 56 goals and 39 assists in 126 games for OL. Talk is a few big clubs tracking but no bid yet, can cover anywhere across the attacking line too.

Gummie

1.) 10 Feb 2021 15:12:39
Certainly would look seriously at Draxler. Under Bielsa he would become a monster.

2.) 10 Feb 2021 19:19:44
You don't need to bid for a player out if contract.

Good player and tracks back really well but let's be honest he only comes in if Raphinha leaves. Rather have Rapha.
Also he is on £115k a week, we could get 2 prem level players for that a week.

Yes but a club would have to agree a continuous loan, I think, not 100% on Italian Wp but I know that's the case for some countries. In that scenario it could be a transfer followed by a transfer to Leeds if they develop well enough, wouldn't take up loan spots.

Best guest Ed- easier to get a work permit in Italy so buy youngsters, send them to Italy for 3.5 years to get a passport. Would then be easier to get a work permit as they are a top 10 country. More likely to get international call ups too if playing full time in Italy rather than sitting in our youth.
Only really helps for players from smaller countries though.

Gummie

{Ed001's Note - ah ok, couldn't you just loan players out though?}

Bielsa supposedly doesn't like to give up on a player that fits what he wants and has had a lot of effort put into so I do think we will keep an eye on him and maybe bid again. That said even if they do decide to sell I don't feel like we will match what the bigger boys will offer, fee or wage.
As to whether we need him, Cooper will be the wrong side of 30 next season and has struggled to keep up with prem attackers in terms of pace and aerial ability in many games. White, Koch, Llorente and Struik (+youngsters) could give us a stable CB rotation for the next 6 or 7 years.

In the world not the prem Canada.
I'm talking Barca, Real, Bayern, PSG, Man C, Man U, Pool, Chelski, Athleteco and Juve (could also argue Milan) and the last 3 are all probably long shots tbh.

At the beginning of the season I said 42-49 points (depending on injuries, etc) , I'm still thinking about the 46 point mark and 12th to 14th will be right. Happy to take that.

Wouldn't rush him unless we need him. Sitting on good points, until that changes we should just go with what we have. Get fitness then back for Fulham, that's the next important match imo.

Because it's his first season and not a huge goal/ assist return so far I think £30-£35m. If he carries on into next season though that will go up. If we don't sell for a quick profit then £50m by this time next year, assuming he doesn't drop off.

Couple of weeks rehab then u23 for 5 sounds good, it's what should have happened the first 2 times. At least we have no big reason to rush him back this time. We have a full back 4 fit and available and a big gap to the relegation scrap so as long as Spain don't call him up before he is fit again we should have the time to get him right.

Be fair Aus, Koch picked up an injury his first match and played through for weeks and Llorente (who wasnt fully fit when we signed him tbf but we knew he wasnt) was brought back too early by spain (which we might actually get some sort of reparation for, you sometimes do with longer injuries) then by us because of the defender shortage, that's on the coaches and club doctor not him.
