Did anybody read the sports in the current bun yesterday? It said Uwe Rosler is after Uruguay and Inter Milan Defender Ãlvaro Pereira for wait for it. £3.1Million!! First of all why would a World Cup player who Joined Inter for £9 Million three years ago, now 29 want to play in The Championship instead of Premier? and secondly where the hell did Leeds get £3.1Million from? and finally if it was true would Massimo spend that much on one player? I hope it comes off but I can't see it myself! All thoughts welcome.

This rumour has been around for weeks Mike. There probably is interest due to all the reports but Cellino probably knows he'd never choose to play in the Championship so it won't do any harm in asking. Being quoted £3.1 million isn't the same as spending £3.1 million is it?

A good friend of mine who plays in the first team at West Brom has told me that Leeds have approached them about Chris Baird.

I don't know if he has been released. I was just speaking to Craig and he mentioned him, Leeds actually tried to get Chris Baird and Craig Dawson a couple of seasons ago when Clarke was in charge but it ended in a no go. A bit old but we need a couple of strong characters like we had in Vinnie, Sterland and Batty.

There is a rumour that Redders might be joining Simon Grayson at Preston to work along side Glynn Snodin. I wish him well wherever he goes and although it didn't work out as coach he will always be appreciated by the Leeds supporters and Steve Morison!

Great posts chaps, genuine comments. This is what happens when you look at our situation in a positive way, yes there are a few things that need addressing but we are making headway and MC has to be praised for this but I think the real change is down to Pearson, MC is listening to him and it shows. Those couple of appointments in Pearson and Uwe was a good move on MC's behalf and it is showing good signs already. it is great reading the comments today, my whole point before, negativity breeds negativity!! And just remember if we were perfect we would have nothing to talk about, and there would be no excitement, you can keep your Chelseas's Man City's and Man Utd's who spend ridiculous amounts of money and finish the season empty handed, give me Leeds any day!!

Since I've been on this site there has been a lot of comments posted and a lot of it negative in a jokey way, but since we seem to be moving forward and MC doing the right things the jokey negativity is now turning into serious picky silly comments. There is a comment further down about who we are playing pre season and how crap they are! First of all it helps fitness, it also puts something back into the community awhile promoting LUFC, and further more who did we play pre season the season we were the Champions of the last league 1 before it became the Premier! Also who did we play in pre season the season we got into the Champions League Semi Final? If you don't know have a look, you might be in for surprise!! We have been saying we want this and that, MC is moving forward not backwards, with this in mind can the serious cynics please remember the words to our song MOT, it's great to have banter but it's boring especially when it has no substance, Ausman, Mad Mick and a few others make spot on comments it's just a few others that would only be happy if it rained everyday and LUFC went out of business!! Sorry if I have offended but it had to be said and for the record my comments aren't perfect and neither am I but I'm Leeds through and through!!

That's all fine but some of us are sick of being used like idiots by lufc. mc.gfh. and any other number of so called . "owners". Leeds supporters have been used for years as cash cows. Pay thru the nose to bee served up with complete dross . oh for someone to put real money and ambition in to this club. Mike, I think the main reason some posts are a bit mickey taking and hopefully humorous is that during times when not a lot is happening the only thing we can do is try to have a bit of a laugh.
This usually takes the form of taking the pee out of ourselves, which us Leeds fans have always been good at (and long may it continue)
After all the definition of banter is: to exchange remarks in a good humoured and teasing way. :-)

We will always have fans who will see the negative side but they are entitled to their opinions. I remember when Collins joined us and there was a debate in the Dog and Gun taproom and one guy said we will get nowhere with a midfield full of midgets, the rest is history. Bournemouth went up without spending big, Derby got some premiership players in and are still in the championship, says it all. All I ask is that the new coach and any new players are given the time to succeed and we are not calling for their heads after four or five games. We need to be united as a club. If GFH were not here I think Cellino would invest more but he will not while they sit on their hands.

I absolutely agree with you Bige and I totally understand what Danumwhite says and I love this site for the banter and after all our years of hardship it is a release to have a joke at Leeds United but it's the other stuff where MC gets slated then he does something right and they have to find something else and then something else, if all we have to worry about is Pre season games then we have moved on from last season. Also what's that all about SLUFC, were not being treated like idiots, maybe when Master Bates was in charge but not now and if that's how you feel, don't go, it's your choice if you feel your a cash cow stay at home!! Go and watch Sunderland who spent well on £50 Million and have been fighting relegation or maybe Liverpool who spent over a £100 Million and have nothing to show for it, I think their supporters have a bigger gripe about being cash cows! Nobody makes us do things, yes we have an opinion and rightfully so but come on, this is the most exciting pre season we have had for years, new manager, MC is like a new Chairman, clumsy mouth but heart is Leeds, new players not old and knackered but promising youth and that's where our success will come from. Just remember where we were 7 years ago, and be thankful of where we are now. MOT.

have to agree with speedy, I have only been fan since 89 as I am a young pup but I know lots of times I have felt worse, bates was all time low off field and how many of our current crop would make all time bad leeds team, none so things on pitch can't be that bad either

Forget Joey Barton or Micah Richards, they have already been there seen it and have the T Shirt so in my opinion not as hungry as the once were and Eland Road does not want to become a retirement home! Uwe and MC have already done a cracking job securing youth and talent, the hunger that O'Learys boys had, that's what we want, and so fat they have done great, a couple of wingers needed and some strength and quality needed in the middle. MC has already done more for Leeds since he came back than he did when he bought us. This just could be the start of something great, so far so good keep going MC and Uwe

In life you have a choice, either look forward to the future or fear it, same can be applied to the summer period for a club, i.e. worrying about every rumor, who we will sell, who will we buy etc etc.
So my view is that looking at what mad boy MC has done since back (in terms of getting quality management/support in place) then why not be positive? with Bamba on board I would say on the player side so far so good.
We still need 3-4 good quality signings which I think we will sign a couple of good ones at least, sure Sam B may go if a 8m bid came in but come the start of the season I feel confident that we will have a better team/squad/management and club than at the same time last year.
To me my friends that will be progress so let's all look forward to a bright summer and get those shorts out.

We don't need a striker we've got Morison and his 20 goals a season! Lol. Your right mate we do need another good solid striker a bit like Becchio for strength but a bit more skilful with it. It's looking good though isn't it, and if we get this Williamson from Newcastle we are good shape with a lot of buying still to do.

How good would it be to sit back and enjoy Summer and look forward to great new signings, positive newspaper reports and a great new season. As Roy Orbison once sang "Dream Dream Dream". Everyone always talks about this player that player, new Xhairmam, selling the Mighty Leeds and Blah Blah Blah, whatever happened to what we think, you know who I mean, the wheels behind that great machine. That's the Leeds United Fan, been there longer than any Chairman, player, Manager, and no matter what happens with our beautiful club we will still be there, we are not in it for money, nor status we are in it forever, so maybe Mr Cellino, Mr Pearson and the rest should take a step back and look and listen, nobody cares more than us, nobody ever will. Stop hurting us, stop embarrassing us and stop using our club for your own gain!! Do something that wi make us proud, if you can't get out and let us get someone who can. We are Leeds and we want to proud once more! SORT IT OUT MC!

I know what you meant about decorum and being rich mate, and may I say you are absolutely spot on and everyone I read your posts you are alwYs positive about our club and in return you get negative replies. MC and Pearson are doing a great job, the signings so far have been spot on, not panic buys or loans just future potential and needed now signings. We have spent money, money we as supporters thought didn't exist. Uwe is saying all the right stuff. We have got rid of useless back room staff and less than useful squad players. All of the above have been the subject of disgruntled fans on here, as each day goes by more and more of these points have been addressed but still they challenge and won't eat pie!! Well done Ausman, great posts and I hope for true fans like you that we have a great season, but watch out mate, we will win the League, FA Cup and League Cup but it still won't be good enough! MOT FOREVER

Absolutely spot on Bige, the positives far out way the negatives and since I posted my little rant at negativity followed by your comments, Mad Micks and a few others it's all starting to sound a lot more positive. We are in such a good place at the moment and we are far better off than a lot of clubs chasing the prize we are. We also have to remember we are building for a solid future so it's important to recognise the fact that although we want to be in The Premiership we must be ready for it and not come straight back down, look at QPR!! Great post though Bige, nice one mate.

Top man, thanks. As for the new season I for one am more excited than I have been for years as to what could be, with new players coming in and a Manager wanting to prove his worth we could be in for a flying start especially as we have started recruiting early.
