Matt Smith is going to Millwall. This came from a Millwall first team staff member. No reason to doubt him. Also said morrison is still at Leeds on £30k a week. Millwall don't want him.

Mr P

1.) I was ready to believe that Matt Smith may be subject to a bid from Millwall then you followed it up with the statement that Morrison is on £30K a week. No player at the club is on that sort of wedge, not even Ross. £30K a week pmsl

2.) 18 Jun 2014 14:38:51
Isn't Morison on 15k - 20k a week?

3.) They couldn't afford the transfer fee

4.) Millwall just signed striker from halifax

5.) It's true Smith is going to millwall. Along with the rest of the Leeds team for the first game of the season lol

6.) I have no idea what wages are at ER. I was just passing on what I was told.

7.) Love it Martin g

The transfer window closes in 2 1/ 2 weeks. This club went all out to get Bielsa. He is regarded as one of the best coaches in the world. I'm sure he would have told Radz what he wanted in terms of players coming in. He said as much in his presser. Strengthen in 4 or 5 positions. Two have come in so far. We don't know what players are being looked at. All we hear are rumours. There's plenty of time left.

Mr p

1.) 21 Jul 2018 09:29:21
I disagree Mr P yes there is 2 and a half weeks left but these players should have been in and training with their team mates in already, we do this every year and the club never learns. As I said in an earlier post our owners should create a fans forum and allow the passion of the fans to offer input into past failings and give constructive input. Most businesses do surveys to gauge where they are how they are doing, we are there customers give us a say and while you are at it make some quality additions before its too late.

2.) 21 Jul 2018 09:57:43
We have signed two loan players and the whiff of desperation to sign players is toxic. Even Peterborough's owner is now mugging us off with how desperate we are. However, as is the Leeds way, we are trying to do it on the cheap and players with better offers are going elsewhere. The Leeds board believe the players that we have are good enough and just need quality coaching, which I have said before is either ignorance or arrogance. Either way, when we have been smashed by Stoke and Derby in the first two games, they will panic and scrat around trying to get anyone in on loan, whoever you get then will be a lucky dip and at a premium. These players will also need to get up to speed with Bielsa tactics/ formation, therefore you can probably write August off. On current squad status I would say we are candidates for relegation.

3.) 21 Jul 2018 10:13:38
Mr p You'll recall negotiations to get Bielsa took what seemed forever. It was certainly over a month after initial contact was made. Did it ever occur maybe one of the sticking points was incoming transfers due to no money? We are stuck with Orta's signings and Radz' contract extensions from last season! Virtually all the dross now out on loan which is great but I don't think the money is truly there right now. So, more likely, Bielsa was ensuring if he doesn't do well due to lack of money and Radz wants to sack him that his pay off is a large fixed proportion of his remaining contract. This is why I think things took long. I do see Radz splashing the cash eventually just not in this window. Hope I'm wrong but signs are there such as Kinnear backtracking saying we'll rely mainly on the loan market, only going in for Jozefzoon once Derby had their bid accepted, bidding for lower league players, wages still being a problem. Time to smell the coffee. Getting Bielsa in now in my opinion designed to allow him to get to know the league first until we make the big push next season and to placate fans who become upset at lack of signings. At least we got a very good manager! That's my take and I'm ok with it. Success will come, just more like 2020 or 2021.

4.) 21 Jul 2018 10:55:02
Problem is as always we are linked with every man and his dog in transfer windows and more so this summer following upgraded manager. Our illustrious leadership has probably never heard of half of the people we are linked with let alone actively pursued. Remember the patron saint of Elland Road for many years has been Secret Squirrel with his non disclosed fees and sudden appearances.

5.) 21 Jul 2018 11:52:08
I was under the impression the reason why Rads went for this high profile manager was so that players would be lining up to to play for him? Apparently this not the case!

6.) 21 Jul 2018 12:03:57
Whitey When was that ever made public? Misapprehension on your part.

7.) 21 Jul 2018 12:05:14
I think players consider who they are playing for but it is secondary to the salary that they wish to receive.

8.) 21 Jul 2018 12:46:45
George I take your points on board, but I really think if there was no money for transfers Bielsa would not have come. If he was lied to about funds he will walk. I'll continue to be optimistic till the window shuts ( inc loans ) .

9.) 21 Jul 2018 13:15:28
Reality is: expect nothing and you will be pleasantly surprised by something no matter how poor :)

10.) 21 Jul 2018 13:29:26
I agree mr p but I believe such promise is destined to be fulfilled next year after a "get to know you get to know the league" delay. This is my point which I've made known for a week or so now. Radz has invested in other football related commercial ventures. He'll splash the cash once he's made some profits hence Myanmar, Eleven Sports expansion. He moaned about feeling let down after he rewarded certain players with contract extensions. I just don't think the big money is there "right this second".

11.) 21 Jul 2018 14:01:21
George, the big money was there for Vydra. Deal with Derby and player was agreed, £11m, till agent bumped up wage demands. We haven't spent any on players and we have cleared out 10 or more wages. We will spend but on who no one knows yet.

12.) 21 Jul 2018 14:28:18
Yes mr p. That deal did go down that way and that's why I think Radz has cold feet and put most of those funds into a different pocket.

13.) 21 Jul 2018 16:23:03
Sorry George read other post on this site and other you may just learn something, everyone was saying it, that players would come if we had a proven manager, still that’s what you get small minds and some can’t read.

Looking forward to a good win and performance tomorrow which should provide a welcome break from the doom and gloom merchants. Rome wasn't built in a day.

Mr P

1.) Rome wasnt built in a day but didn't it pretty much fall in under a year? That said I do trust our Italian to lead us to better days

2.) I never want us to lose but perhaps if we do we might all get a break from all the mindless optimists who seem to be in complete denial. There's a big difference between 'doom and gloom' and being a realist Mr P.

3.) 22 Aug 2014 20:17:23
Udinise vs Cagliari! Only joking that's what I thought it may be at the beginning of season though! Will be a tough game but a real test of where we are. Nervously anticipation probably sums it up nicely.

4.) Agree about the realisim. makes me laugh how some people post on here like they think some of us want leeds to lose. I hope we win tomorrow but if I had to put a score on it I would say 4-0 to watford. hope I am wrong but can't see us getting anything. all about being realistic with some hope. on the same note I got a lotto ticket but not expecting to be a millionaire

Hock says half a dozen players against Brighton were suffering from a virus. Dressing room was a messy place after. Could this explain how poor we were?
.

Mr P

1.) Making excuses already? that doesn't bide well for the future.

Saying that, if they did have viruses, other players should have been brought in.

2.) Smell a cop out, would of been mentioned before like in the spurs v west ham game. also we didn't have virus before millwall game and by all accounts they were carbon copy performances

Millwall still looking at matt smith. I was told he was as good as gone three weeks ago. Hope he stays.

Mr P

1.) 10 Jul 2014 15:59:38
If Millwall want Matt Smith they had better find £3Mill or go back to London.
Very good player and worth every penny.

Wherever Ross goes he will not get 28 goals or near it next season. Last year was a flash in the pan.
