Odds on an announcement on Monday about the manager?

OLeary4King

1.) 10 Jun 2018 07:49:43
Which monday?, The one before the season starts! Becoming a bit of a joke now.

2.) 10 Jun 2018 10:21:52
Unfortunately Mezzer that's how our recruitment has been for several years now. The only time in recent seasons when it was better was after Monk's appointment, we made a few decent signings and it didn't seem to take forever to get the deals done.

3.) 10 Jun 2018 11:07:59
Agree Mezzer.

4.) 10 Jun 2018 14:08:51
What about Alex sabella for manager

5.) 12 Jun 2018 21:37:10
Mezzer and his crystal ball

22 May 2018 18:17:05
Getting a bit bored of trawling through click bait on news now for an article that could potentially be true. Are there any solid rumours? I've seen the same names thrown about below but is there anything to them? On a side note anybody have a better site than news now?

OLeary4King

1.) 22 May 2018 20:27:49
Prob only Jerry rumour true

2.) 22 May 2018 21:19:28
Newsnow good source of information even if it's just developing rumours. No-one of any note will complete a transfer prior to the CL final. Last couple of days in May should see something happen like Abel joining along with Whyte.

3.) 23 May 2018 08:38:49
Not believing any of the rumours yet. Only Jerry looks possible at the moment and that looks down to us if we want him. The rest are just speculation. Would not believe any unless we put a bid in for them. Happens every year linked with good players only to fing we can't afford them or they are not for sale then noone else is available and we end up with a couple of loanees from Fleetwood.

22 Apr 2018 23:35:02
Why did Radz and Orta actually sign Roberts? They might see hell of a potential in him to spend a fair bit on a youngster who wouldn't be able to play for a season? Maybe the genuinely knew nothing of the injury, but for some reason I have a feeling they did. Be interesting when he comes in to the team next season!

OLeary4King

1.) 23 Apr 2018 07:39:59
He is supposed to have some pedigree and class.

2.) 23 Apr 2018 08:09:22
So has my Irish staffy George but he's crap at football

3.) 23 Apr 2018 14:51:43
Have we sunk to slagging players off before they've even kicked a ball in anger now? the mind boggles

{Ed033's Note - Somebody has to take the blame

4.) 23 Apr 2018 18:16:19
No all but he was bought to play so bought to lay on the physio table so someone in the management team is to blame

5.) 23 Apr 2018 21:10:39
Yep. won't slag the player. Surely he had a medical before being signed? Somats gone very wrong in processing the signing, only for him to not play for the first half season of his contract? That's a joke really.

6.) 24 Apr 2018 20:49:57
He did have a medical then cracked a shin in training

14 Feb 2018 19:42:12
Don't get why so many people are opposed to radz '5 year plan'. I'm sure a lot of people will be eating humble pie when we're a strong side in the prem in 5 years, I know I'd much rather have a 5 year plan than a one hit season in the champ and get annihilated week in week out next year in the prem and end up in league 1 two years later

OLeary4King

1.) 14 Feb 2018 20:45:44
So good to read a sensible post, totally agree O’Leary just posted something similar saying we are in a good a position as we’ve been for many a year.

2.) 14 Feb 2018 21:46:29
Totally agree. Too many people want instant success which sometimes is acheivable but rarely sustainable. I have so much admiration for Radz plan and his strength of will to persevere. The more it goes on the more I feel that when we do go up it will have longevity.

3.) 14 Feb 2018 23:10:11
In all honesty Leodis I think some people on here including me are fed up of waiting, we build up for a new season and then it’s a no show again, It’s been a tough few years, we had MasterBates who nearly wiped us off the map, then that other lot who just used us for gain and who I believe have held us back! MC came in and although he got us on a stable footing he was a mad head and then Radz who has done a fantastic job, the only bad thing is he brought Orta in! It’s hard to remember that Radz has only been with us for just over half a season so in terms of club progression he’s doing wonders but impatient fans like me forget that! I love the fact that Radz owns us and I know he wants to succeed and he knows he will make mistakes, that’s in reality but myself and many others crave that success we had with O’Leary, this time though we want to have it properly and not recklessly, but and again we want it yesterday and not tomorrow! Negative or positive we all want the same thing! Good post O’Leary, 92 and Leodis.

4.) 15 Feb 2018 11:35:24
Instant success? We didn't get relegated last year we been out of premier league for over 12 yrs so to say people want instant success is potty.

5.) 15 Feb 2018 13:49:41
Class - couldn't agree with the essay you wrote on the banter page more, wish I could give it two thumbs up!

Leodis - Completely correct on the longevity angle. Build the foundations first.

Mike - Completely appreciate where you're coming from, I know you've come under a bit of fire recently but it's nice to see you're still able to see it from other people's perspectives too!

Martyn - Sticking with theme of perspective, you could say it's been X amount of years since the old glory days and people are getting impatient but bare in mind we were in league 1 more recently than the premier league. Without Radz and even MC stepping in we could still be a tax write off for GFH today with absolutely no chance of major improvement, that is why I think Radz deserves at least a chance with his 5 year plan. Sorry for delayed responses. Living in china ATM, the time difference and firewall does not help! MOT.

6.) 15 Feb 2018 15:12:29
Leodis - the most frustrating thing is to be in the dark. I've always said if the chairman shares the plan with us so tat we can see how we are doing against a goal people will be more patient and happier. if we don't know where we are going or how long it takes the journey is much more difficult.

Two bits of positive news doing the rounds today, Leeds are in talks with lassogo but refusing to pay anything near his ridiculous wages and Wood has been offered a 3 year extension, whether you want him to stay or not, this will put it all to bed finally, either he signs and stays or refuses and leeds cash in.

OLeary4King

1.) 18 Aug 2017 14:51:39
Ok ol

2.) 18 Aug 2017 17:36:16
Definitely good management to start talking about new terms for Wood, puts the ball in his court!

Jack Clarke’s transfer to fund Helder Costa and Ben white move? What do you think, is it worth it? I think as soon as jack goes, we’ll start to see incomings.

OLeary4King

1.) 27 Jun 2019 10:43:46
I hope you're right O'Leary. Too much paper talk is doing my head in. Let's see some action now.

2.) 27 Jun 2019 11:06:33
Hope so too, Clarke who let's be honest not a starter and not ready for the push up to premium league, his funds could help get 2 players who could help us now! Tho I'm not a fan selling our up and coming stars we don't have the luxury of nurturing them yet. We need to get out of the championship now.

3.) 27 Jun 2019 11:07:45
If those two players (and possibly another - not counting Harrison) do come in - or other players of similar quality - I think it would be worth it. Question for the negative bunch on here. Who would opposition full backs be more concerned about facing - Jack Clarke or Helder Costa (or equivalent) ? We're all disappointed to see Jack go, but if it enables us to strengthen the squad for the forthcoming season and increase our chances of promotion might it not be a good thing on balance. Whether it's 8.5m or 11.5 or somewhere in between, and whether or not there are add one or a loan back clause, if as a result we end up with Prem football and 170m, that would seem to be very sound business

All the above is of course conjecture, it is far too early to judge the merits of this deal - which will only really be possible at the end of the season.

4.) 27 Jun 2019 14:09:58
Depends on which JC came to the party Clue. The one that for defenders was the nightmare before Christmas or the one after Feb who didn’t really make an impact. If Costa can give hell to Champ defenders for a whole season bring it on!

06 Jan 2019 22:04:13
All I'm seeing on newsnow is praise for Roberts. Now I'm a fan of him and what's to come for him in a Leeds shirt, but there are rumours he's a potential sail replacement, and I watched the game with that lens. Am I the only one who thought he wasn't up to scratch? He missed a few chances, had a few dire touches in key areas. In no way can we rely on Roberts to replace saiz for the second half of the season! Please make me eat my words Tyler!

OLeary4King

1.) 07 Jan 2019 00:26:15
O Leary, it’s constantly in Bielsas mind to try different players in different positions in order to have more flexibility. He has done it at Under 23 level as well. This was a chance to try something different with Tyler in a game and also with Harrison. He has already said that Hernandez has replaced Saiz and that he would like another winger in to replace Hernandez. But I’m sure we will need cover the Hernandez as well. I don’t think it was a bad effort from him and he should really have had a goal after 30 secs!

Saiz is difficult to replace because at the end even Saiz wasn’t being Saiz!

2.) 07 Jan 2019 11:03:52
Good point about pablo Spanish! Feel more comfortable with the little wizard playing that role than Roberts. What do you think about two wingers? One to fill pablos place and one to replace allioski or would you be happy with one?

3.) 07 Jan 2019 11:48:40
Think he is just a bit rusty, which is understandable. I think he will prove to be more than capable in quite a few positions, to be honest, just needs an injury free run, like many others!

4.) 07 Jan 2019 12:41:51
I don't rate Roberts to be honest. Not in the berm sort of way of KP, but just can't for the life of me see what they others say about him. Yes he is only young and has time to develop and will always try and support players wearing our shirt. I just feel he gives the ball away to easily, and looks like he is playing a friendly with the effort he puts in. If he put in the type of energy of Alioski then maybe it would be a different story.

5.) 07 Jan 2019 13:43:51
Mezzer I think he's got great potential. Just not up to scratch for Saiz role. I'm excited for what's to come from him, after all he's only 19.

6.) 07 Jan 2019 15:07:38
Having watched Saiz after about game 6 then I don't have a problem with Roberts replacing him :)

18 Dec 2018 10:22:30
This is a long shot but what do you think the odds of saiz coming back in the summer if we get promoted? Hindsight might kick in and he could realise the grass isn't greener! Either way, all the best to him.

OLeary4King

1.) 18 Dec 2018 10:42:32
If he is prepared to potentially leave us in the lurch, move on and he can do the same. We will be ok, but I doubt that he cares due to speed of his departure, so better off line drawn under. He can phlem off for me.

2.) 18 Dec 2018 10:50:50
I honestly think that he is a guy who places his personal and family happiness above his football and if he is not happy he doesn’t produce his best football. He knows the league position that we are in and our opportunity this year and clearly, look at the media posting of his partner, he has decided that it is more important for him to return to Spain. I think it is much more likely he will finish his career there.

The Uk isn’t necessarily the best place for a European at the moment. Superstar footballers are to a great extent protected from it but family and friends aren’t . The club has a number of Spanish speaking players, staff and family so there is a bit of a support community but that obviously wasn’t enough for Samu and his partner.

I think the worst situation could be that he doesn’t do well for Getafe and they don’t want him in the summer, but I suspect that there will still be another Spanish club who will.

I loved Samu as a player, and as Bermondsey posted, I can understand people building a team around him. However Bielsa could probably see that, he was just too unpredictable on and off the pitch to do that at Leeds.

I’ve lived in Uruguay, Chile and Spain and Saiz’s partner Is right, it’s not always easy to build a life in another country. Money doesn’t solve all the problems. Good luck to them both and I for one will be keeping an eye on the Getafe games!

3.) 18 Dec 2018 12:36:09
Hope he does not come back as it will prove he is not as good as some people think he is. Can see him doing well though so goodbye Saiz been nice.

4.) 18 Dec 2018 12:43:03
if it is genuinely homesickness he won't be back.

5.) 18 Dec 2018 14:00:35
Don’t want him back.
Rather make $500 profit.
He is no good to us now.
Good luck and good riddance.

6.) 18 Dec 2018 15:31:41
Aus Cracking post! Loving your recent contributions!

7.) 18 Dec 2018 17:23:13
sadly have to agree if he wants out best to get rid, shame as i rate him as a player but he become a bit part and the dressing room seems so togteher which like under oleary might explain results so best get rid profit is stil profit at the end of the day.

8.) 18 Dec 2018 17:40:43
Personally, I have massive respect for him, putting his family ahead of his career, and the potential earnings of the PL. On his day, he could be the best in the division, but we didn’t see that often enough, and for me, Pablo is the more refined, all round player, and one of the best in this league. Glad we had Saiz, sad he’s gone, but it is what it is! We move on.

9.) 18 Dec 2018 18:25:55
We may have no choice in the matter. He is on a loan with the OPTION to buy. If Gatafe don't take up the option, for whatever reason, back he comes,

01 Dec 2018 16:25:22
Clarke > allioski. Unbelievable energy when he came on, and choice making is 10x that of allioski. How long till he's ready for the full 90?

OLeary4King

1.) 01 Dec 2018 16:50:25
So far he has shown he struggles with fitness to last 40 mins.

2.) 01 Dec 2018 17:17:29
If he plays 30-40 minutes and decides the game that’s enough at his age.

3.) 01 Dec 2018 17:35:27
He "decided" this one!

4.) 01 Dec 2018 18:09:10
If we can win with Clarke for 45mins fine, better use of the players available. Particularly in the role he plays, come on for 45 mins and give your all. Alioski and Harrison can do a shift and that’s before brown is ready. When Ayling is back, Dallas fits into that as well.

The Christmas and New year period is coming and with the table so tight, this could be the period where somone starts to break away.

Not bad that we have a few underused players available and possibly Brown and Bamford to play a little sooner rather than later.

5.) 01 Dec 2018 19:22:57
There keeper decided it for us.

6.) 01 Dec 2018 20:52:49
He gave us a chance but there was still a fair bit for Jack to do and he did it really well, calm and composed. I’ve seen a fair few people make a hash of it in that position. He took it and made it easier for Hernadez. We have created loads of stylish opportunities that we haven’t taken, need to be able to take the easier ones as well. And in a season you need to be able to win a few games like that. Well done fellas!

Fast forward 4 years. Florian Jozefjoon signs for Derby, singlehandedly gets them promoted, moves to Barcelona, wins ballon d'or and I'm reading a newsnow article about how he almost signed for Leeds 4 years ago.

No investment? ER? Top quality manager? Spent money on players, that albeit haven’t turned out to be worth the money yet, but he spent regardless. Sorted out the contract situation we had securing the spine of the team? I’m not dismissing what MC did, he certainly saved the club, but don’t dismiss what Rads has done as well. By far the best owner we’ve had for a long time.

Taking a team from 13th to 3rd, he knows what he’s doing, he said from the outset it’s a five year plan, we’re currently in year 2. Difficult transfer window does not mean no spending, and Bielsa, if he stays, has already said he’s not looking at players unless they’re noticeably better than the current players we have. Which rules out the shotgun technique MC practiced. I’m all for hope this season, already excited for it!

Cork, Bolton’s results get wiper apparently. Meaning the two wins over Bolton that Leeds sheff and Norwich have will be worth 0, so lose 6 points, but West Brom only won one of Bolton’s games, meaning they lose 3 points compared to our 6.
