So were supposed to believe that one of assombalonga, gray, adams, leigh griffiths, or emre mor could still sign. Apparently adams still the one they want. Its going to be a deadline day scramble isn't it. This time last week i imagined it'd be done by now, this time next week we'll have milwall right infront of us and still just 1 fit striker. Think we know who they're going to target don't we.

Also understand that embarba and bohinen are targets, the former has 4 goals 11 assists from CM but can play 4/ 8/ 10 so should be interesting. Embarba has 7 goals 11 assists this season in spanish second league.

Personally, leigh griffiths, and both of the central midfielders would be the ideal. All quiet on the ian poveda front. Radz spend your money stop messing about.

Supposedly given Saints a 48hr deadline to kill the discussion or agree. After that, it’s Andre Gray; watch someone else snap him up before our deadline expires!

2.) 21 Jan 2020 18:26:27
Not Mor- we refuse to do business due to the Galatasaray link.

3.) 21 Jan 2020 20:10:22
I believe we’re right in waiting. Never panic buy but obviously good to have other irons in the fire.
People are to hung up on the James deal last season.

4.) 22 Jan 2020 08:37:05
Omg people are too hung up you say? Are you actually being serious, it was a complete +utter fiasco and to say there was professional people involved that night makes it more incredulous . That James fiasco + no other outfield signings that month cost us a place in the prem but hey, let you keep on thinking your way because as we can all see now at least Leeds didn't act the same way again this January, . Oh hold on, whilst we have dropped 6 more golden points.

Personally, if Kalvin goes, you'd be questioning all the bold signings we are completing as its a bit misleading. In my opinion though, I think radz would have a chance to redeem himself here if kalvin was to go. 15-20 million is an awful lot, and for 5-10 million you could probably buy back ronaldo vieira. Who'd complain at that knowing how capable marcelo is at developing players?

For the record I wouldn't lose sleep over janssons departure, much rather him than phillips. Jansson always seems to rock the boat, very verbal about leeds yet if he was such a fantastic player he'd be in the premier league by now one way or another, someone comes calling for around 10 million, take it. Marcelo doesn't seem to keen on him, but he would need replacing. Ryan bennet of wolves maybe, Juan foyth, someone with a lot of composure who could fight ben white for places.

Agree on all fronts Samo!

05 Jun 2019 14:23:19
Report on Talksport this afternoon from a french media journalist saying the deal is done, over in france they seem to think it'll be announced soon, leeds playing it down and denying it until the very last minute, in an attempt to try and prevent any collapse. Not sure what i think of it all.

Samowhite5

1.) 05 Jun 2019 16:12:53
well at least one thing is sure, these people do have money and they are reported to want to enter the English market .
I know we are all Leeds fans but stand back and look, other clubs with a fan base like ours are already owned or backed by money.
Newcastle would be a great buy but would cost a lot more .

2.) 05 Jun 2019 16:16:44
Really depends on what “The deal” is doesn’t it. Investment or takeover. We will see in time.

3.) 05 Jun 2019 18:03:42
I hope to god this is true. Dare we dream? Again?

4.) 06 Jun 2019 09:52:22
Ultimately, money talks and if they offer him enough then he will sell.

5.) 06 Jun 2019 12:17:13
I think Radz will try for an investment to buy deal, the guy seems determined to get us up, no matter what you think of him.

6.) 07 Jun 2019 19:03:37
al he is not determined to get us up, otherwise he would of done things differently he is determined to make as much money as possible nothing else.

22 May 2019 09:52:35
Transfer IN's IMO:

Barbet, Lasogga, O'dowda, Bowen, Maupay, BIELSA.

Out's:

Saiz, Berardi, Bamford, Coyle, De Bock, Roofe, Anita, Ekuban.

You've then got to work with:

BPF, Casilla, Ayling, Dallas, Jansson, Cooper, Davis, Douglas, Alioski, Barbet, Bowen, O'dowda, Hernandez, Klich, Phillips, Shackleton, Clarke, Ideguchi, Stevens, Bogusz, Gotts, Maupay, Lasogga, Grot, Struijk, Edmondson, Kun, Odour, Miazek.

29 players is enough IMO, and those players are good enough.

Samowhite5

1.) 22 May 2019 14:05:47
Maupay would be a welcome signing. Is he for sale?

2.) 22 May 2019 15:11:49
Probably not, but to be fair, brentford have been a selling club in recent years, that Thomas Frank is a good manager though and will want to keep hold of his assets. Him, Barbet, Canos, Benrahma, Mokotjo, Odubajo, are all very good players that could play for a promotion pushing leeds side, I'd happily raid them.

3.) 22 May 2019 16:39:57
Bowen and Maupay both are well out of our reach financial
Shame as good players.

4.) 22 May 2019 16:40:59
Samo for ins either, O'Dowda or Jamal Lowe. For work with I would like to see McCalmont and Diaz also for the back line I would think about O'Connor, Shaugnessy and Pearce.

5.) 23 May 2019 16:07:24
Lasogga? I don't think he would last the first training session 😁😁.

13 Aug 2018 11:31:37
An appreciation post for the board, they don't always get it right but which board does these days, very few. Think radz has done exceptionally well, bielsa has been a real test of radz backbone and we've come out of the blocks flying, saying that didn't TC last year too. I see the next 3 weeks as the biggest of the season in all honesty, if we can keep up playing like that I think we might just break records this year, or we'll be brought back down to earth by the longevity of the championship. a great start though MOT.

Samowhite5

1.) 13 Aug 2018 12:26:12
Great post Samo, and I think you're right about the next 3 weeks. The difference between Bielsa and TC is that MB is strong and experienced, and holds respect from the players, whilst not tolerating poor attitude. If we hold it together, based on those two performances, we could break records. That said, I do expect us to lose at least one game this year! 🤔😱🤐.

2.) 13 Aug 2018 12:28:13
Still early days, you are right better idea by the end of month after Swansea and Middlesbrough. Interesting to see how teams try and cope with us. Also hard to get a feel for how derby and stoke will really do this year. They might not do quite as well as people suggest.

3.) 13 Aug 2018 15:08:09
OMG I have just finished on a job and having a quick brew before heading off. and daydreaming

Beisla as manager. O'Leary's babes as his talent pool

Talented keeper. Robinson could play with the ball at his feet

3 centre backs who could all play a bit. Woodgate, Radebe, Ferdinand

2 wingbacks that can defend but definite help in attack. Kelly and Harte (even Mills could)

Defensive midfielder to allow the centre backs the opportunity to roam. Batty

Centre forward who can play others in. Viduka

Wide midfield who can link with the centre forward. Kewell and Smith

If only.

4.) 16 Aug 2018 12:52:29
Imagine how good that team would have been if we'd have had 11 players!

Could be way off so let me hear it if i am, but.

Keep this group fit, we don't need any january signings.

Keep this group fit, we have options all over the pitch.

Keep this group fit, we could be playing europe next year.

Play europe next year, we could be keeping bielsa, how could he refuse?

Samowhite5

1.) 27 Oct 2020 19:08:09
I feel confident Bielsa will stay with Leeds for at least 2 further seasons after this.

2.) 28 Oct 2020 18:46:49
Nah samo we need options in January, by extension look at pool close season, no way would you have said they needed new faces, however since the season has started it's quiet clear they need just that .

It's inconceivable that we won't lose a few to serious injury, and just think what we would be like without paddybamayang!

3.) 29 Oct 2020 12:48:40
I think there is a lot of benefit to bringing in one or two in Jan. Freshens it up and the players like it. Plus I think we need to add sensibly in all windows for at least the next 2-4 years if we are to be challenging the top 6 consistently by the end of the '5 year plan'

06 Oct 2020 07:59:19
With the signing of Raphinha late last night and the close of the international window, my 11 would be.

Meslier,
Ayling, Koch, Cooper, Dallas
Phillips
Raphinha, Rodrigo, Klich, Harrison
Bamford.

Bench looks pretty healthy too.

Caprile,
Struijk
Llorente
Costa
Hernandez
Shackleton
Poveda

Bear in mind this doesn't even include.

Douglas
Alioski
Davis
Roberts
Gotts
Greenwood
Gelhardt
Casilla
Forshaw

Well done to management I must say.

Samowhite5

1.) 06 Oct 2020 09:03:09
Still a loan option we could use, and if (as Radz said we had 50 mill last week to spend) , money still there think either Cantwell or Benrhama I'd prefer Benhrama but rumours strong on Cantwell
Or keep it until Jan then go back to Udinese for Rod.

2.) 06 Oct 2020 09:11:00
Think lorente will be included in our back four sooner rather than later and Cooper spending time on the bench, love coopers passion for the club as a fan and I do think he tries hard, but he isn't going to keep lorente out indefinitely.

3.) 06 Oct 2020 10:12:51
I would love us to get Rodrigo de Paul in Jan window.

4.) 06 Oct 2020 11:10:18
Bit harsh on costa. He done his settling in. I’d pick harrison and costa for while and prov to come on for last 30 min reg. Tha fins can wait his turn. Think he will take min 2-3 months to shine.

5.) 06 Oct 2020 11:28:14
Aus with our high energy, high press, then think having several attack minded wingers to bring on during the game is vital. Costa, Harrison, Raphina will all play their part, even the younger squad members coming through.

6.) 06 Oct 2020 11:43:05
Mezze, I see were your coming from. the two wingers that start know they can do everything at 100mph in the knowledge that once the tank is empty there are two more speedster ready to keep up that intensity. I can't imagine many teams will cherish that coming at them

However. spare a thought for our two full backs. One of their primary roles is to overlap the wingers in order to create overloads on the opposition defence. Can you imagine just how fit and fast they will have to be to support their winger for the whole 90 mins. Good luck to those guys, they must already be counting the days till the last day of the season. Absolute beasts.

7.) 06 Oct 2020 12:41:48
Axe, I think Dallas and Ayling have got great engines as the saying goes. Did hear on the commentary of the Leeds v Man city game that bielsa 's murder ball training is harder than playing a match lol. Really think the collective team spirit at Leeds and team before self is bielsa's way of doing things, players buy into this or the don't fit in . Other teams have their superstar egos but don't believe this type is right for bielsa. We have got a good squad now with some great youngsters waiting to come in. Nice to hear the neutrals speaking well of our great club in the media, shows how well we are doing, good times to come.

Victor Orta went to spain in a lamborghini, radrizanni said to him work magic like houdini.

6 foot 3, hard as **** he gets the whites excited, llorentes our centre half and we are leeds united.

22 Sep 2020 07:12:01
Seen a few posts about our new signings getting up to speed and getting used to the english game. Our only first team signings are international footballers. They'll take time to get used to what's required from them in bielsas style of play, we've seen that with a lot of players already. The thing I don't get is the whole, english game, talk. Football is football, pep, wenger, klopp, and next arteta, have all destroyed this so called english game, even bielsa and nuno in probably the toughest league in the world. This myth of the english game doesn't exist, as there are so many different teams with different styles of play, you can't be telling me city, burnley, leeds, liverpool, stoke, rotherham, all play the same type of football, it doesn't exist. Our players will do as well as they are capable of and if they're not good enough the manager will send them packing.

Samowhite5

1.) 22 Sep 2020 09:54:29
It’s a great post Samo. The one thing I would say about “The English game”, is that it is played at a much greater intensity, with fewer “lame” passages of play, where players drop the pace, and take a breather. Like you say, the old English, physical game is long gone!

2.) 22 Sep 2020 10:05:34
The only difference with the "English game" I can see is the action in every third of the pitch whereas the continentals have a habit of giving up the middle of the park and, at times, playing at a slower, more technical, pace. But I do tend to agree with you that the foreign imports both players and managers have homoginised our game and in the end it's all just Football!

3.) 22 Sep 2020 11:07:24
Excellent posts Samo Brighty and Leo.

4.) 22 Sep 2020 11:40:43
Agree all above. It’s a world game and while we have lost the physicality of yesteryear we still have higher tempo.

5.) 22 Sep 2020 12:42:29
I know 1 thing English football wouldn't be same without them only aft look at England team MOT.

6.) 22 Sep 2020 13:02:56
'The English game'isnt a particular style. I think it is the game as it is played in England, which is still quicker and more physical than in other leagues.

7.) 22 Sep 2020 15:59:31
Samo By "English game", I don't mean the mid 1980s with Motty's sheepskin coat in all weathers, Big Ron Atkinson, Howard Kendall, Graeme Souness, jumpers for goalposts, flick ons at the near post with Mick Harford, Tony Cascarino scoring powerful headers or legendary poachers fastest to react over half a yard of space in a mudfest such as Tommy Tynan, Jimmy or Micky Quinn. I mean the modern game as it is now. You see the thing about 2020 is it's real, it's happening and it's right now. So by "English game", I mean the very successful changes and version brought by Wenger and carried on by Pep, Klopp etc. Fergie also improved the old style. Obviously not all teams have silky skill midfielders and a Ben White at the back. When Burnley get the ball, you don't think here comes their Manchester City type midfield, you think physicality and they'll rely on set pieces, corners etc. That part of the game still exists. In the Championship, there are other teams who are more physical than others such as Berm's beloved Millwall. The point is this. Newsflash. Wenger managed Arsenal for a quarter of a century and left a blueprint which isn't going away. The upper end of the English game is now fast, flowing and appealing on the eye hence the massive commercialization of the sport. The PL boast the best players. Liverpool are world class, favourites for everything, the best side in the world right now. If you tried to buy their front 3, you'd need minimum £600m. This is the modern English game I'm referring to so you're right when you say foreign coaches came in and destroyed the English myth but your remark is misleading and naive. These coaches are still here! This is the (new, if that makes things easier but it's been going on for years) English game at the highest level. Not all foreign players take to this quick demanding style and again from what I've seen I have concerns over Rodrigo and the fee paid.

8.) 22 Sep 2020 16:13:45
Do you need a hug, George?

9.) 22 Sep 2020 16:27:22
Yes Alf. Preferably from Hayley Atwell.

News just in though. I think this guy John Major could be the next leader of the Conservative Party.

10.) 22 Sep 2020 22:52:01
He couldn't do any worse than the current guy could he?

26 Aug 2020 06:25:57
Went to barcelona 10 years ago, saw messi score a hattrick at nou camp and since have always loved watching spanish footall. If its on and I've got chance, I'll watch it. From what I've seen of rodrigo he can do both. Started out as a right winger and didn't hit the ground running. Played as the supporting striker in a 4-4-2 and excelled all season, following season got spain call ups and has never looked back. A real confidence player, could well play alongside klich in the way we play as he will take shots on, or he can play up top instead of bamford, very much like roberts in this respect. Much more evolved player than roberts though. Very excited about this one, could well see him pablo and costa ripping it up.

Not mine, but we could have an attacking trio of CPR, Costa, Pablo, Rodrigo.

Emre Mor was hyped for big big things when he was at dortmund. Never paid off and still only 22, could well be a said benrahma type for us. Showed end product and blistering pace, has played through the middle and on the wings in the past.

Completely disagree. Strongest squad we've had since leaving the premier league by far. Anyone who was concerned about jansson being replaced, ben white. Anyone concerned about saiz, roberts, costa, forshaw stepping up. The versatility is incredible. We've axed a lot of deadwood, which the board will appreciate come january. Anita on 15k a week, ekuban on 5, roofe on 10, de bock, jansson, all these players were on reasonably big wages. Kalvin needs a new deal which will eat up a fair portion of this, but when that deal goes through it will suggest the intentions had by all at the club. Look at every position on the pitch, one by one, and look at who could play in each position.

GK Casilla, meslier, miazek.
RB Dallas, Ayling, Hosannah, Bera, Shack.
CB White, Cooper, Bera, Phillips, Struijk, Davis.
Lb, Douglas, Alioski, Bera, Dallas, Davis
DM Phillips, Forshaw, Mccalmont, Shack
RM, Pablo, Harrison, Costa, Alioski, Gotts, Stevens, Clarke, Shack.
CM Klich, Phillips, Forshaw, Roberts, Shack, Pablo.
LM Harrison, Costa, Roberts, Pablo, Clarke, Stevens, Alioski, Dallas.
AM Costa, Pablo, Bogusz, Roberts, Harrison, Eddie, Shack, Klich, Forshaw.
ST Bamford, Eddie, Roberts, Edmondson, Kun.

So much depth, such young blood, such talented players. Every reason we should be going up this season, and who better to have in charge, I genuinely can't think of someone better to fit the bill, other than possibly pep.

We've lost 2 games from 8 in 1 month. 2 of which were in the cup. And its been a very hard start, forest, swansea, bristol, stoke, all teams with good solid players, and to beat 3/ 4 of them is brilliant IMO. Look at performances against wigan, stoke, bristol, just about swept aside. People saying they've sussed bielsa out, they haven't its obvious what we do and he doesn't hide it.

Dont understand. BPF on the brink of flourishing in his career, we promote miazek who is a good keeper but not as good, and bring in more cover to the youth team. I won't mind this if the plan pays off but yet another risk? 3-5 million for BPF would be good. Ultimately though its only good if it doesn't line radz pockets. you're telling me that between Clarke, Jansson, Saiz, Ekuban, Sacko, BPF we've accumulated 25 million, and brought in 2 players on loan and 1 on a free for the U23's, shocking window.

It's a big one this, if he goes it hurts on a personal level, but as its been said 25 million is a lot. If iturraspe is a free then bring him in, and maybe 1 more of his calibur, with 25 million you could even tempt delph back. I think though marcelo will be the one who sets the price at 30 million and if kp goes i'd imagine marcelo goes, and that's the last thing AR will want, he will have to put his faith in bielsa.

Makes sense that they want them for the new kit, starting to get my excitement back, if white is a permanent that's an excellent signing, makes sense bearing in mind clarke going to brighton. o'dowda over lowe for me, don't rate kent personally. don't think we need a striker, keep roofe and bamford both fit and firing and you're ready for the season. hernandez must be playing as a 10 this year.

rodrigo has 1 goal 1 assist from about 500 minutes. that's roughly 6 games. 38 game season you'd get 6 goals out of him this year. think we all need to stop panicking. If we get a point tonight, it's a good result. any game where you pick up a point in this league is a good result. scrap what happened over the last 2 years, in terms of prem experience now we're a little fish in a big pond. the players are up to it and the belief is there now more than ever. unbelievable how irreplaceable pablo is right now. best bit of business we've done in years signing him, and resigning him over and over. nobody changes a game and changes momentum so fast like he does, wolves sat off because they knew exactly what he can do, and you feel with better attacking players he'll only have more options.

matter of time before llorente gets a start you'd think, but i see it being cooper not koch that makes way, another great signing it seems. certainly don't feel like ben white would have done any better than koch and therefore i'd say koch is just as good if not better.

meslier another great signing, hats off to victor.

Think you'll all find rodrigo can do both pablo's and bamfords jobs. Don't be surprised to see much more of rodrigo than pablo this season. Roberts, bogusz (possibly de paul) the same. Think restricting pablos playing time will be best for us all. We'll get the best from him in a 40/ 30/ 20 minute cameo, and it will be a great send off campaign.
