Monk inherited a decent squad at Swansea and git the mid table, which us okay.
My point is this us way different to a) building a new squad in the championship and b) challenging for promotion.
I actually like the idea of young and English and the way Swansea played was pleasing to the eye, but hope he's given time and funds but most importantly backing to build.
Re: Alternatives, Flores maybe, and I liked Clarke at Bristol, or even heckonbottom at Barnsley or even Lennon?
BUT Monk is in so all this is pure conjecture!

Not sure about the squad but he took over from Laudrup who had them near the bottom of the table. Without checking on Wikipedia, I thought he kept them up that year and was offered a contract. The following full season he had with them, he got them a top ten (isn) finish and their best points haul in the Premier league, so not a bad start to a managerial career. We'll forgive him the little blip the season after.

So main candidates are Pearson, Flores and Adkins. all have similar win %s (mid 40s) so it comes down to "fit":
A) Pearson. strong, motivator and likely to strangle silly no . So good fit but maybe a bully.
B) Flores . Great experience and seem like a good guy, but wouldn't love the club or stand up t mr silly
C) Adkins . A scouser, but did live local ish when at scunny, he might best get what we're about.

Aussie. Not a Leics fan ( Man U unfortunately) , my bruv in law had £1 on them after 5 or 6 games at 1000-1. Just bought his own place and spent it on new man toys for his man cave. My sister's not too happy to say the least, good on him it's his money to do whatever he likes with.

You know what SLWW, I'm thinking the same thing. The Forest fans aren't happy about the prospect of Big Stevie managing them but neither were the majority of us when it was first announced. My opinion of him changed as the season wore on and I'm sure there's will. With a bit more luck, we could've made the play-offs even with our defence and no, I'm not p***ed (yet) !
Good luck to him wherever he goes and I just hope he doesn't come back and get one over on us.

Could not agree more Mick we weren't that far away last season. I'm still hopeful of Steve staying. I think to try to judge what Massimo will do is not an easy thing to do.

Bermo, fitting Rooney in is a joke even though for England he dies "okay".
Our best performance for years was Germany away and I think he didn't play.
Not only not in form and slowing down by the day, fitting him in messes our shape and means we can't play players in their natural position. vardy up front and Ali as a no. 10.
Keep him on the bench and bring him on with 15 to go . I say!
