Karl Darlow or Joe Hart
Jamal Lowe
And a well rounded CM

Thoughts?

What do people think of this potential starting 11 next year with some of the names we have been linked with. Bielsa 3-3-1-3 formation. Gunn Jansson Bartley Foyth Ayling Forshaw Alioski Saiz Wilson Vydra P. Hernandez Interested to hear people's thoughts? Who would you put in instead?

1.) 18 Jun 2018 12:13:15
There's no RV which is criminal. RV for Saiz more steel in midfield. Apart from that quite good Southern. Can't play Saiz and Vydra together. Vydra is a number 10. I hope P Hernandez replaced by A Hernandez up top. We could have a very strong bench this season. Will need to be made out of titanium 😄

2.) 18 Jun 2018 13:32:58
True about RV, I think him and Forshaw could be interchangeable really in defensive midfield. It will be very physically demanding to play that role. As for vydra, I don't think we will sign him to play in that role in the formation. I thik saiz could flourish in that position with no defensive responsibility and complete freedom to attack. I guess this is the dilemma Biesla has just now, Vydra or A. Hernandez because I can't see us signing both.

3.) 18 Jun 2018 14:13:42
Why drop our goalie?

4.) 18 Jun 2018 15:15:00
Southern I see RV more developing into the creative role with a range of passing and shooting, ie the McAllister type. Defensive midfield not his strength in my opinion.

5.) 18 Jun 2018 16:21:43
We'll have to wait and see what Bielsa wants to utilise him for. I'm not sure he's quite got the range of passing just yet but I'm happy to be proven wrong!

6.) 18 Jun 2018 17:03:54
Hoping we go for Abe, we could do with a real No. 9, unless, of course, Bub thinks Roberts will be the man with Vydra at No. 10

7.) 18 Jun 2018 19:17:22
3 centre backs and a right back? Strange set up

8.) 18 Jun 2018 20:35:39
Let's see what Bielsa and his contacts, knowledge and draw can do for new signings. as long as he's "allowed" to take real charge! Will this be our year? What an appointment!

Cam anyone really tell me they wouldn't have taken these signings at the start of january? De bock looks a solid addition at left back, forshaw for 4.5mil looks a good deal, and a new striker for a couple of million. I agree that hugil would have been a good signing, but at 10 mil? Really? The boy Roberts comes very highly rated. How much better service is he going to get from the likes or hernandez and saiz, a quick striker with an eye for goal is exactly what we were crying out for to give us another dimensions. I really can't complain about these signings. Come on let's get behind the team.

Finally, a bit of sense spoken. - We need a left back! Check. -Orta only looks foreign, our core isn't British enough! Check.

2.) 31 Jan 2018 11:57:24

Anyone else want to see us play a little more direct? Seems to me that we struggle when other teams take a risk and play balls into dangerous areas where their strikers can gamble. Don't know why we never seem to so the same but want to pass it across the midfield. I get that possession is good but a bit more risk might see us create more chances

1.) 22 Dec 2017 12:23:58
Been corned at times at how much we square the ball or backpass, but we seem to have moved away from that again.

2.) 22 Dec 2017 13:39:34
To me it's about variety. If we play the same way all the time we become predictable and a plan can be made to stop us. If we can vary our style, nor just game to game but in a game then you keep opponents guessing. To stop a passing game I'd play a tight D leaving less space, this creates space behind the back line so make playing long a viable option. So I agree let's play direct at times as it will create space for us as defence will be too nervous to close down too much.

3.) 22 Dec 2017 13:44:49
There is always room for route one but never to live by it.

4.) 22 Dec 2017 14:44:15
We are unable to be accurate enough generally beyond 10 metres. No point in long ball. We won't find our player. Eh wex! ?

5.) 22 Dec 2017 17:16:15
AUS is right rarely do we win high balls going forward, however at times are passing to wing and from is much better .

Wouldn't mind him playing just in front of the back 4 to force them to play out wide and put crosses in for pontus to deal with. It's refreshing for a player to be so honest though!

New rule introduced, if it goes to extra time the teams can make a 4th substitution. Only if the game goes beyond 90 mins.

1. Read a lot of comments 20-30mil, let's be realistic, if he does want to leave there's no way we're getting that much, 6-8mil max most likely. He's young and unproven despite performing well in the league. The sort of player 20-30mil will buy you is far beyond his current ability, and I do appreciate he has massive potential just don't think those numbers are realistic.
2. I honestly can't see him wanting to leave. He loves Leeds, comes from the academy and is being given exposure at a good level under a great manager. He especially won't want to leave in January, where in the premier League is he going to go and get first team football just now? I think radz and orta aren't being stupid postponing his contract talks until the summer. Sends a message to him, prove your good enough, keep developing and we will reward you. It also makes sure not every player is knocking the door down asking for a contract extension/ raise after half a season. He's on a long contract.

Cibicki didn't really do much but worked hard. Grot struggled to make an impact but did a lot of closing down their defenders. Klich looked quality, good reading of the game and really calm and composed on the ball. It was pretty backs to wall but opened up in the second half and we had a few chances. On a different day burnley could have put away a few of their chances and the game could have been very different but we played well and should have had the victory in normal time but the free kick was excellent at the end. Definitely better than the millwall game.

I agree that we'll be fine without Wood and am really happy with the signings we've made to replace him and I think we look stronger now. I'm by no means looking backwards but I still rate him as a player and think he'll do well in the premier league. An ideal situation would have been to keep Wood and use him when the game suited his style and not sign lasogga for example, but wood would have been expecting to start and that's something we couldn't guarentee if we wanted to have several approaches. Tbh I think Grot could be a similar player to him from what we've seen so far just a lot more raw and won't be expecting to start every game, good hold up play and nice touches, time will tell. He is an absolute unit though and defenders won't like playing against him when they get tired, the ideal impact sub this season I think.
