Rumour has it! (Rumour)
Rumour has it! (Rumour)
Rumour has it that Angus K is sticking around whether or not 49ers take control.

And with that, he’s going after a new Manager first then a Director of football with the new Manager getting a say in the selection of a Director of Football.

This is a smart move if the Manager is experienced with enough swagger to attract good candidates who will work with him and not around him.

Which to me makes sense.

But… I’ll be nervous until end of next season.
And promotion is confirmed.

Kinnear is supposed to look after the commercial side of the business and tbf to him we have done well there so no qualms about him staying to do that. Not sure about his manager picking credentials or programme notes, however.

So… you think the current performances against Betis and Ajax were points for concern.

Think on this.
1. Targets are going to look at this and say “challenging for Europe? You’re having a laff”… amd then go and sign for Leicester or a London team or some such.
2. If any of the following. Duos go out injured, we have premier league quality holes opening up and down the pitch.

Dallas and Firpo
Dallas and Klich
Dallas and Ayling (not buying baby shack yet)
Raphinha or Harrison or both
Rodrigo or Bamford or both
KP one man army (sorry Robin, you ain’t there yet)
Llorente and Struijk (the amount Coops has shown preseason says his minutes will be numbered)

I know I know… don't panic.

But… We are underperforming and are two to three players short a robustly competitive deck.

Asenscio… get him in.
A versatile LB cover for Firpo… get him in (come back Alioski)
A “bag ‘em at all cost striker… get him in!

We want Europe. The club needs Europe. Most we got right now is a European package tour to toremelinos with the lads golf clubs.

depressingly accurate post Toronto

you could also add the following :

a very good CAM Pablo type . get him in

a very good Director of Football ( sorry Victor) . get him in

a much better contract offer from Leeds United that Alioski more than fully deserved.

Friendly results mean nothing
Top 10 again is an acceptable position,

27 Oct 2020 02:28:10
Competitive with Liverpool and Man City.

Took down the only 100% team.

Talent coming though.

If we bear Leicester. Dare we say it. an outside chance of European football next season.

Can we wrap Bielsa up in cotton wool and rest him in a hyperbaric chamber smothered in Royal jelly every night please.

At the beginning of the season I went through all the games and guessed at an optimistic (or so it seemed at the time) 44 pts. After our start, everyone's signings and injuries, I think (a slightly pessimistic) 49 will be pretty close. As a result I think Europe might be a little too far, historically that would put us 11th-13th ish. That said first hurdle is 36 pts, drop that relegation threat then anything else is gravy. Hope the squad prove me wrong but I'm ok with a first year to establish followed by a second year attack on the top half.

2.) 28 Oct 2020 05:44:51
Gummie You underestimate our club, you underestimate her greatly. After the start made, I can see us finishing the season in the low 70 point region.

3.) 28 Oct 2020 13:24:59
70+ would almost certainly put us in 3rd, we are not finishing that high in our first season back bud. As i said 49 might be slightly pessimistic but we will have some rough patches, as we did last season, and some of the teams towards the bottom will park the bus and cost us points. 49 pts would constitute a fantastic season and a great place to kick on from. We are currently only 1pt better than I had us so far tbf George but I'm happy to be proved wrong.

4.) 28 Oct 2020 14:38:38
Gummie If Bielsa can finally sort out strategy against the physical types and canny Wolves type (evidence shows he is improving there) then 70/ 71 points is achievable in George opinion. Last year's table would have us finishing 3rd but given the compressed nature of the table at this stage for this season, such a points tally might see us finishing 5th. I fancy us for a 5th place finish. We can hurt teams for real but yes Scousers Citeh and Spurs are currently ahead of us.

5.) 29 Oct 2020 07:55:21
70 points is more per game than we’re currently on, so I can’t see it. That would be 63-64.

I think we’ll have a better idea after the next couple of games, as whilst we’ve started well and the Villa win was impressive, we’ve so far beaten the bottom 2 and the team that escaped relegation by 1 point (albeit on form this season) .

6.) 31 Oct 2020 07:15:07
at this point in the season I have no idea at all where we will end up. We've had some god results but things can change quickly in football and the teams we thought were strong may end up not being so much. We will have a better idea around Christmas so keeping my powder story until then. From what I've seen I think we have enough to stay up, but after that genuinely haven't got a scooby.

7.) 05 Nov 2020 06:29:40
wouldn't the cotton wool stick to the jelly?

22 Feb 2020 06:10:22
If we can open up a four point lead today with a Reading win, reckon we’d need just 24 points off the last 12 games for instant promotion.

Minimum might be 21 (7 wins off 12 games with one being the Fulham game. ) but that would be cutting it very fine requiring Fulham, Forest and Brentford not to otherwise go on a tear at end of season.

Result today and it’s happening, Lads!

Come on you Whites! MOT.

Saw summat that cheered me up… a win for Brentford today against the “Cheesies” and that rotten lot could be in the relegation spots come tea time!

Would love to see the look on the faces of the four who turned us down (Iraola, Aaronson, Adams and Seenhe’sterrible) when the league table is posted at 5:00 today! ??????.

TorontoWhite

1.) 02 Sep 2023 14:23:50
Understand your frustrations and anger TW but if these players wanted to leave our club, I can promise you we are much better off without them.
They were very short term visitors at Leeds and will be forgotten in the short term future.
Brendan who, Max who, Tyler who, Luis who……….

2.) 02 Sep 2023 15:17:43
Who are they OP?

21 Aug 2023 15:17:55
Willy has realized joining Everton is not going to help his cause. Everton looking pretty much doomed on many levels. Leeds won’t sell him for less than £30Meg and no non-premier league club will pay that for him… so it’s getting desperate for him.

He’s been daft… has the national team pressure, has been badly advised and has acted like a child… Despite his money most of us could only dream of, I guess, he’s a 19 year old kid away from his home country with a mosh pit going on around him.

So… He might not get sold… the question is… does he have a route back at Leeds?

TorontoWhite

1.) 21 Aug 2023 16:58:04
Definitely, he was a favorite of the fans but he’s let us down, it’s up to him to prove that he wants to play for us putting in consistent big performances.
There always room for forgiveness but it comes with a price to pay.

2.) 21 Aug 2023 17:23:28
Willy was a fav of Leeds fans? He was liked sure but he hardly played enough.

3.) 21 Aug 2023 18:04:33
Of this current squad I believe he is Baz, it’s why there’s so much anger and emotion over this saga because the club know he’s a talent and so do the fans. If this was Aaronson nobody would care and if situation didn’t exist I can guarantee you Farke would be selecting him for every game.
Karl Robinson has on several occasions admitted that he’s a really nice lad and the players really like him, his problem is that he is a very young kid who is being badly advised by his agent who is already known to be a very difficult customer.

4.) 21 Aug 2023 18:25:57
Needs to bin his agent to get a stuttering career back on track. Only stuttering due to pee poor advice! Sad really.

5.) 21 Aug 2023 18:31:10
Gnoto definitely a current fan favourite. As you rightly say hence the anger

A talented lad with world class potential shame he has behaved the way he has but why would someone of his class want to play in championship?

Being honest if as good as him we’d do the same but maybe not the same way.

6.) 21 Aug 2023 18:51:20
No way back and I hope he lose out for playing for his homeland the longer he don’t play the hard it will be for him and good riddance. To many players who kiss the badge then want to leave when it get tough.

7.) 21 Aug 2023 19:02:07
Gnonto see all the others depart and wants the same.
Understandable but as others have said poorly advised.,

8.) 21 Aug 2023 19:16:08
Not sure Gnonto was ever a'fan favourite ' and he sure as heck is no longer a 'current fan favourite'

He was also completely overhyped by some Leeds United fans he has so far done very little on the pitch and is definitely not rated highly in Italy

There is nothing so far to suggest that he is ( even potentially) going to be ' world class ' lol . that is pure hyperbole Berm ?

That said with players currently going for £100 million plus. get £30 million minimum otherwise no value at all in selling especially if there is indeed a 50% sell on fee for Zurich!

9.) 21 Aug 2023 19:16:42
His agent should have said to the owners that his client will give his maximum until January then he would like to request a transfer. Totally understand he doesn’t want to be in the Championship but he’s got to help the club who gave him a contract in the first place. I’m sure if he gave his max until January someone in the Premiership would pay a price that would make the owners happy.

10.) 21 Aug 2023 19:46:05
A little harsh Baz. He was very good last season once he made the team although his form definitely declined last third of the campaign and I believe his attitude did the same.
He has the potential to be a top player though.

11.) 21 Aug 2023 20:08:05
Yeah he may possibly become a (very) good player Corky .

but definitely not Bermos assertion of world class. lol ???

Currently he is a winger who does not score goals nor creates many . he will definitely get better on tbe latter . but that's it.

12.) 21 Aug 2023 20:36:45
Gnoto has shown class in prem in glismps and is italys youngest ever scorer putting one past the Germans of all teams

You don’t do that if no good… he could become world class.

17 Aug 2023 21:23:53
Sadly (in a way) if Gnonto or Sinisterra turned round to Farke overnight and said, “You know what boss. I was wrong, you were right. Play me tomorrow”, I’m pretty sure Farke would say, “No. Shod off. Put it in writing, train hard for a week and we’ll think about having yers in the squad the following week” (obviously with a German accent) .

He’d be right in the long term, of course… but with Sinisterra or Gnonto added to squad, we’d have a good chance of taking 3 points.

Unlikely to happen… but neither Gnonto or Sinisterra are boosting their selling price by not playing. Yes, risk of injury… but 19 year olds like to play. Sini’s change of mind was also kinda abrupt… could it swing back again?

If you were Farke… what would you do in this scenario?

TorontoWhite

1.) 17 Aug 2023 22:57:24
Tell them both to Farke Off!

2.) 17 Aug 2023 23:35:58
They would have to do a lot of grovelling before I would even consider them. But if they are staying, and their heads were showing commitment to the cause, then I could understand Farke not cutting off his nose to spite his face.

3.) 18 Aug 2023 09:48:02
My take on the gnonto saga is that he is a very silly young boy who has listened to too much advice from his agent. Who here doesn't know a teenage boy who has made a bad decision after heeding the wrong advice. I'm not saying he is not at fault for his actions but the plan to try to engineer a move probably wasn't thought up by a nineteen year old.

A lot of blame should be directed at his agent and others that have been in his ear over the last month or so.
He is a boy. He has made an error of judgement. He has been advised to play hardball when he has no power to do so.
I think leeds should give him a chance of redemption. Can we afford in our position not to try?

30 Jul 2023 21:32:27
I dunno… but all I see is rainbows and unicorns compared to last season. Sunlit uplands (shut up) with a rose coloured spectacled views of a world in white with blithely healthy pink tinges. We’ll win so many more games than we’ll draw or lose. Children will say their prayers and a Premier League place amongst the pleas for peace on earth and good will to all men (ManU don’t count as humanity… but we’ll even say a Hail Mary for them) … and there will be goals and glory and Choffy will finally eat them… HOLD THE PHONE… RUTTER and BAMBAM ARE INJURED…

… sorry lads and lasses… the world is black… bang the muffled drum. ;-)

No one is coming in for Meslier or Firpo who both want gone.
7 first teamers gone
Piroe… early discussions only
Kamara… gone quiet
Nat Phillips gone quiet
Adams… lots of noise about release clause
Struijk… lots of noise bout Belgium
Harrison… only quiet as he’s injured
Dallas… no news about a return
Only in this week is Mags fourth choice £400K goalie

What are the dynamic recruitment duo actually doing?

TorontoWhite

1.) 29 Jul 2023 11:12:03
Is Dallas finished out for 17 months now a long time . and no news of any return.

2.) 29 Jul 2023 11:14:00
Leeds will have to pay up Firpos contract to get him gone. quite frankly in top 5 worst Leeds defenders ever.

3.) 29 Jul 2023 12:04:10
Time will tell.

4.) 29 Jul 2023 13:14:42
Dallas is very near; he was being considered for Northern Ireland for the recent qualifiers, but they decided against it.

5.) 29 Jul 2023 14:32:11
Baz Dallas has been out 15 months, not the 17 you claim.

6.) 29 Jul 2023 14:59:28
Ok Baz. Roque Jnr was definitely one. I’m struggling with the other four tho pal?

7.) 29 Jul 2023 15:19:44
Ok George 15.

8.) 29 Jul 2023 17:15:13
Brighty Other 4 might be Cameron Borthwick-Jackson, Raul Bravo, Scott Wooton and Marius Zaliukas RIP.

9.) 29 Jul 2023 17:31:18
Raul bravo + Razzy in there also.

10.) 29 Jul 2023 20:04:37
Good shouts fellas
Lauren de Bock was another dud.

11.) 29 Jul 2023 21:38:54
Zaliuskas started OK at least if I recall it just went completely off the boil after the Wednesday debacle.

12.) 30 Jul 2023 08:22:44
Who was that winger Orta brought in with a name like a race horse?

13.) 30 Jul 2023 12:24:01
Remembered on my own. Seabiscuit.

Hmmm… Kamara or Shelvey… could we do both? Shelvey’s distribution can be world class, but his legs were going two year ago last I watched him. Cards would follow and suspensions. Kamara has better legs and reliable bite. Neither are an Ampadu and neither would be my first choice… but we’re down to third and fourth choices… we just need to get in a striker, a left back as well as think about midfield. Sign ‘em up!

Pohjanpalo (pronounced Poh-yan-pal-o) literally translated is “North ball” … so we can probably play on that.

His balls’ from the North
He swings ‘em around
From the Elland Road
To all other grounds

His ball’s from the North
And so we will sing
Joel score’s us goals
And Joel is our King

By the way… ermmm… he’s not that good.

Love White. solid guy. got on well with the lads. and put in his shifts for us. but he ain’t proven at Premier League level and is not yet a 50 mega quid worth of player.

Robin Koch, 2 internationals, proven at Bundesliga level, just 23 and at a fraction of the price. I say if Brighton don’t bite at £30 meg . we should cut bait and get Robin in and not look back.

Bright and Aggro yer both right. Andoni, Aarons, Adams and Seenhe’sterrible both need to hear Elland Road again and/ or hear us dominate their home hovel that they signed up to.

Draw 2-2 at their shack, spank ‘em 5-1 back at LS11

Their relegation would also be as priceless as seeing Everton sunk!

All public statements are he’s still out “not rushing him back because it was so serious”, “won’t be part of NI’s team this year to allow him to get fit”… basically he’s still at point no one will even say when he can get back into training.

And he’s not getting any younger… and the prolonged lack of first team training will further hamper his conditioning and speed.

All a bit rubbish for this magnificent fella!

YEP did an analysis based on FIFA 23
Rating 73 Potential 78

I looked up Sinisterra
Rating 78 Potential 82

Jaidon strengths include early crossing and work rate
Weakness weak shot and don’t score as many goals

Overall… we know we traded down… but get behind the lad, let’s develop him to be better than Sinisterra and better than FIFA says.

Anyone know why we bloody well had to let Sini go?
