Hello, lads! Was reading for few years, but decided to write smth myself as this post is about one of my favourite players and probably the most talented youngster in Russian football - Khvicha Kvaratskhelia Sorry if it’s too long to read…

He came to Locomotive Moscow (the team I’m a fan of since I was a kid) on a trial loan. Our management failed to sign him on a permanent contract, so he went to Rubin Kazan. Our manager (Semin) was so pissed that we lost such a gem, that he resigned cause he can’t work with such a morons. Khvicha was like a son to him (Khvicha was half a season in the squad) . And Semin is a bigger legend for Loko than Revie for Leeds. That led to serious problems with fans as we rated Khvicha very highly.

His current manager known in England as Slut Sky (Slutsky) rates him highly as well and it was him who told Khvicha that he should go to a better league as his potential is too high for Russian PL. According to our papers Slutsky is personally in talks with Leeds, as he thinks our team (Leeds I mean) suits him better and Bielsa can make Khvicha a top player. So Rubin wants him to move to Leeds, I guess it’s now down to fee.

On Khvicha himself. He is highly technical, can beat few players easily, and our league is very defensive. He does it for fun. Can play left right and Center, just don’t care. All the highlights are more than true. On the other hand he is very selfish, sometimes it seams that he can’t see any teammates, but he is young and we all know Bielsa can fix anything. The other drawback he is not falling back. That might be a problem, but again, we got Bielsa.

My biggest concern is his adaptation. He is extremely shy. Still lives with his parents. He still can’t speak Russian, although he was laying in Russia for 3 years.

So I guess he will be a great purchase but may be not for now but for the future. Nearest future. He will need season or so I think. And we will get proper exciting players, with proper training he can be on the same level as Raphinha, but for now is a bit raw. His work rate is phenomenal every manager say.

Hope it was helpful. Cheers from Russia! MOT!

We now have quite tough games ahead. We should get as much points as possible because in December we going to face all the title contenders. So we should get as far as possible from the relegation bunch. Otherwise it's going to be psychologically hard for the players.
So, I don't think that Bielsa should start any of the youngsters unless it's due to injuries. Especially in defence. Any mistake that will lead to points drop can effect their confidence. Actually I can see Drameh or Cresswell substituting Ayling and Coops only in case of injury. Bielsa would rather move Phillips and Dallas into back 4.
Although Gelhard and Summerville might come for last 15-20 min to get a sniff.

White Ruski.

Right now I would play Drameh ( or Baby Shack) over Ayling or Dallas at RB.

We also really need to start scoring more goals in order to try and win matches;

therefore for starters we need game changers coming on from the bench give me Geldhardt over Roberts any day of the week.

2.) 20 Sep 2021 15:07:56
Much as I love Bielsa his stubbornness at playing people in alternative positions rather than bring in a young specialist is starting to drive me bonkers! I would love to see Drameh, Cresswell, Gelhard and Summerville get debuts against Fulham.

3.) 20 Sep 2021 16:28:10
spot on Cambridge; would not surprise me that Bielsa stubborness on this is most frustrating for many Leeds supporters
really hope those 4 young men play against Fulham and are properly involved in first team thereafter.

4.) 20 Sep 2021 20:42:59
Bizarrely that same stubbornness got us promoted to the the Premiership and in finishing in 9th place first season up.
I highly suspect there will be a number of U23’s playing tomorrow due to our very heavy injury list.
Also worth noting that Fulham will be missing some key players due injuries.

5.) 20 Sep 2021 21:20:58
Im sure Bielsa will play the Younglings when they are ready. Have we forgotten about what happened at Crawley already?

Shack looks not bad.

Andrea Pirlo on the comparison to Yorkshire Pirlo: "It's true. In England, there's never been this kind of player. There have been great midfielders over the years with different skills. There's the boy at Leeds, who's a bit of a regista.
But we're a bit different. He doesn't have the same characteristics I had. You've always had box-to-box midfielders, like Frank Lampard. ".

We need Phillips ASAP. And I would like Ayling off, Dallas on the right, Firpo in.

Man u bring on sancho we bring on Roberts, says it all really. million miles off a top premiership squad.

2.) 14 Aug 2021 14:28:40
Spot on mezz… Different lvl.

3.) 14 Aug 2021 14:28:59
And what if he gets injured again? We need cover for him not a centre half trying to be a midfielder.

4.) 14 Aug 2021 14:54:45
Exactly Mezz, whilst we will never have a scenario like Man u transfer cash, at least have the best cover we can possibly have,

Radz larging it up talk of ER seems very premature when on the field we lack decent quality in critical areas. Hopefully with a few weeks left this window, today might be an eye opener to the powers that be that we need to strengthen.

5.) 14 Aug 2021 15:03:28
Roberts did as much as Sancho!

6.) 14 Aug 2021 16:17:46
Agree Canada Sancho didn't do any better than Robert's our battle was lost an cm.

I think Orta and his team are playing waiting game again. Maybe they think that as transfer window will be closer to an end prices will drop significantly. Most European clubs are struggling financially and need to offload some players. So when the window is almost closed Leeds going to have an upper hand.
This season I think they will try to do the same last minute trick. Can be risky.
Last season they did a good job (maybe Rodrigo is still a question) .
BUT it means that players will have no preseason and will be adapting till Christmas.
So a bit worried but not panicking yet. I believe the board knows if they fail to bring players MB wants, he will just walk away.

WhiteRussian

1.) 05 Aug 2021 21:35:18
good assessment of situation ; Orta hinted at such by stating that a winger signing could be done very late in the window : a risky strategy with good rewards if it comes off but if it doesnt!

2.) 05 Aug 2021 22:28:37
I am panicking, we just cannot seem to get business done early, it's so frustrating hearing other teams making signings and the ones we are making are for the under 23s.
As you said it takes 3 months before they are Bielsa ready, surly they know who they want, just pay the money and get what you want without compromising.

3.) 06 Aug 2021 10:19:48
I think, if we do go after a winger, playing who blinks first is totally the right strategy. If I look at the wingers we currently have and those waiting in the wings then a new one is certainly nowhere near a high priority.

4.) 06 Aug 2021 13:59:43
Picking last may get bargains, but is it the way to get the best player for the role? Not if they have already signed for someone else. This means the strategy of waiting to the end is to have first pick of players nobody else wants.

If Grealish is a 100 mil player and didn’t play as much Euro, KP who was one of the most important players to this side can’t be a 60 mil player.
Maybe the release clause is switched on if we go down or something… Clearly it’s better to have higher buy out clause (80 is more like it) and a gentleman agreement that if a good offer comes we going to let you go for say 70 or even lower if you would be really keen on the move.

And he is just 21. Wales international. Played in the Champions league. Scum to be fair have great players at his position. And he got quite a lot of minutes in this squad.
Ole is a piece of s**t manager. Imagine he would be in charge of our team… we would get relegated last year.
Bielsa can make any average player look more than decent. And if he has a grain of talent (and he does) he can transform into a great player.
I’ve heard that some scum supporters are really gutted that he is going as they see his high potential.

Oh, he is utterly useless. CSKA strikers are not performing still he can’t get into the squad. Don’t think even Bielsa can teach this guy anything.

Well, I don’t mind Asensio if he agrees to a pay cut. He used to be quality player.
Will increase status of the club as well. Such deals shows other players that we are building a serious project.

I think Rodrigo came as a striker. I guess after Championship season Bamford didn’t seem as a first choice.
Dallas was great last season in midfield, so in the summer I would prefer him staying there. So did most of the fans I guess and Bielsa probably.
Alioski was the weakest defender of all, so I was happy we got Firpo. Although I would keep Alioski as his passion was quite important in the dressing room.
Well Firpo is underwhelming at the moment. That’s why everyone is so disappointed we got LB, and not any other player for the positions we need to strengthen.
I agree CAM should be the priority! Rodrigo seams not that bad, but he is our record signing… I was expecting much more from him.
So CAM was a priority for me. If we got one I would be ok with no new CM (if Dallas played like he used to last season) .
LB was a priority as well for me.
Wingers… I hoped to see Summerville more often. But it’s true, I we lose Rapha or Harrison we are different team. So maybe James is not a bad move….

It would be better for Tyler to go on loan in winter. He should get some goals to remember how it’s done.
I can’t understand what Biels sees in him.
We can’t wait him to develop. Send him on loan and sell, get a proper CAM. Frustrating to watch him.
To be fair he is not worse than Rodrigo at the moment in midfield. But Rodrigo came as a CF I guess, and playing week in week out in midfield cause he is our record signing. I hope he will play tomorrow as a CF.
Bamford is not pulling trees this season. So maybe it’s time for Rodrigo to step up.
But please don’t put Tyler again. I’m a bit pessimistic and don’t expect any points from tomorrow’s game, so let’s mix it up a bit.
Put Shack in, Cresswell, Rodrigo up front, Gelhard and Summerville for 30 mins…
But I guess Ayling will start again, Tyler as well, Rodrigo in midfield. Loyalty and stubbornness.

I hope line up will be:

Meslier
Drameh Cresswell Coops Firpo
Phillips
Summerville Forshaw Rodrigo James
Gelhard

We can’t risk Center backs as we have only Ayling and Coops, others are unavailable.
Firpo should gain confidence and show us fans that he is not another flop. Although I would judge him after Christmas.
I would actually keep Phillips on the bench. Maybe O’Brian or I don’t know can Shack play there? We can’t risk KP without him we are different team.
Forshaw, if he is ready to play 45 or 60 min, to start as well. He is our “Best midfielder” can he show us why…
If he is not fit, then Dallas or Klich. Both showing little right now.
Rodrigo was good against Newcastle. Will be great if he gets some confidence as well.
James needs game time.
Summerville and Gelhard deserve their chances.
If things go south we can bring senior players to help. Against some tired legs.

I hope 3-0 at least.

De Paul would never go to Leeds, he is Champions League player.
Alioski was energetic but he was not good enough as a left back. Firpo - only 13 mil. I am sure we can get double easily next year.
But DJ… Overpriced, hope Bielsa knows what they are doing.
