much as I agree with most of the points made, I feel evans was not backed in the window he has not even been allowed a loan striker. the majority of the team are not good enough and that is all he has to work with. the couple of signings has has made seem of a fair standard considering the fee and wages paid. sacking a manager every six months is not the answer.

Totally true froggy.

He was backed, just not far enough. We kept Bridcutt, got Carayol and Diagouraga which was good but we obviously needed more. However that doesn't mean SE has got to play people out of position. We have 3 wingers now but not one started yesterday. Wootton still at right back, Coyle on right wing, Mowatt on left wing, Cook in attacking mid, Doukara as lone striker? that's half the team out of position, it's no wonder we looked so bad and when you add the fact that Bamba was woeful, we had lost before we started. SE picked this team and should explain why and what he hoped to achieve.

True as well Scoops.

Two true speedy.

Imo he was tactacly lacking big time and is quite a lot, it's one thing showing passion by standing on the touch line screeming till he's on the verge of a heart attack but he causes his own problems, (wooton) a very average centre half at right back, (coyle) a quality right back playing midfield and carayol and beradi on the bench? You could tell the team had no balance as soon as it was announced. Me personally would let Evans see the season out then let him go and get a real quality manager in and back him to the hilt and let's give it a real go next season. Only my opinion ;)

do others think cellino has changed his mind about selling the club? I feel he has found a melon he is happy with and seems to be backing him. he has been to some games and seems to be displaying a lower profile. if this is the case what is the general concencus.

He's not changed his mind. He never wanted to sell. He was just upset when the fans chanted against him. He just needs to feel loved. Don't we all!

2.) 12 Jan 2016 16:04:14
Funny that! I was thinking that very thought myself as he has gone quiet about selling .

all our strikers and beckford as well (if he returned )would score goals if they had some service ie two good wingers who could provide balls into the box, its not rocket science!

I'm sure there were other strikers that we wanted to sell before smith, to balance the books but truth is no other club wants them .so we are stuck with a couple of forwards who don't seem to know where the net is

i do feel for steve evans as this is not his chosen group of players and he has not been backed in the transfer market. but saying that, his penchant for playing people out of position is infuriating. I think his number is up at the end of the season, I just hope cellino finds a coach he will back with money as we can't continue with this very average squad without additions. another lost season, not happy!

we always play crap against teams at the bottom of the table but hopefully the new signings will make a difference.
