just seen this on the ssn transfer page

KYLE LAFFERTY UPDATE

Earlier today we carried quotes from Kyle Lafferty as the Norwich striker admitted he was flattered to be linked with Leeds United.

But ssn are telling us that a deal to take Lafferty to Leeds is "a long way off. "

That's because Leeds want a loan move with the option of a permanent switch in the summer, while Norwich want a permanent deal this month.
Looks like its going to take a while to get through! Maybe Norwich will take Byram as part of the deal?

Any comments?

Why don't we take Grabban instead?

He was on fire at Bournemouth and not used at Norwich.

Millwall looking to try to raise funds to bring Steve Morison back to the Den.

In my opinion, he needs to go now. He has had enough time to prove himself. He will also be down the pecking order now that we have Wood and Erwin along with other youngsters.

any one thoughts??

1.) 21 Jul 2015 12:54:32
im not so sure as woods injured already, I think he's the only other big centre forward we have and worked his rocks off towards the end of last year so maybe keep his as a reserve back up target man

2.) 21 Jul 2015 13:26:35
I'd sell regardless of injury status to Woods. Woods won't be injured for long and the squad needs trimming.

3.) 21 Jul 2015 14:05:11
Surely Millwall can raise £3.73 and tell them not to worry about the cab fare I'll drive him there myself and I can fit Scott Wootton in the back too.

4.) 21 Jul 2015 14:41:03
lose morison sharp ajose and bring in another player

5.) 21 Jul 2015 15:00:47
He will be fit for start of season according to U R (Woods)I would let him go ,can't score for toffee .
I see Middlesbrough have been linked with Rhodes for 10 mil ,bearing in mind the teams coming down and Derby looks like a tough ask for top six .
Fair play rules?

6.) 21 Jul 2015 16:07:19
Get shut. He is garbage.

7.) 21 Jul 2015 18:41:08
Morrison must have something to offer as although we change fron Redfearn to Rosler he started him against Frankfurt and we won and he scord.
What do you want?

8.) 21 Jul 2015 18:56:41
You must not be watching the game as we are losing 2-1 atm

9.) 21 Jul 2015 19:01:45
Sorry we drew

10.) 21 Jul 2015 19:26:09
No we lost mate

11.) 21 Jul 2015 19:37:35
Yes we lost 2-1 and that loser every one wants shut of scored are only goal, maybe we should look at turfing out some of our poor defenders instead of ones who score for us. Just remember guys no goals mean no wins!

12.) 22 Jul 2015 00:00:59
Maybe it was the system, maybe it was the lack of game time over the last few seasons but Morison hasn't done it for us up front in terms of goals scored, this much is true. But I have defended the guy at the tail end of last season and through the summer and I think we really should keep him a little longer. 2 in the last 5 games last season, 2 in 2 during pre season, that's 4 in 7 not a bad return. As for the guy can't score? he has hit 20-30 in 6 of his full seasons with a 17 on top of that, two of those seasons at championship level. If we can find 1 decent winger to play opposite Byram (who I feel should make the step forward permanent a la Bale) he could be great cover for Wood if not pushing him for starting.

13.) 22 Jul 2015 00:44:31
Suddenly it's all gone a bit Mehhhh!

Leeds set to sign Martyn Woolford. Winger from millwall

lifelongleedsfan

1.) 29 Jan 2015 10:08:25
just seen this, Millwall are not exactly doing well so I don't see what he will add, but will give him a chance if it happens

2.) 29 Jan 2015 10:12:18
Please tell me this is a joke this guys record is worst than Cani . are we trying to get players that offer nothing to the team . he not even good as a squad player 15 goals in 105 matches in Div 1 . Millwall can keep him thanks

3.) 29 Jan 2015 13:07:40
Woolford is an attacking LEFT BACK, not a winger, so his goals /games ratio is meaningless. Also, he is under contract at Millwall so would command a fee, and as LUFC are under transfer embago, forget any cash deals.

Danny Graham has just signed on loan with BLACKBURN ROVERS for the rest of the season according to ssn. Why are we not in for these types of players that can put the ball in the net!

AAARRRRGGGGHHHH!

lifelongleedsfan

1.) 20 Jan 2016 14:18:52
Looks like we getting Rhodes then!

2.) 20 Jan 2016 14:43:44
We are not in for Danny Graham because he is Parp!

3.) 20 Jan 2016 18:54:13
Danny Graham hasn't put the ball in the net on a regular basis for years! (No doubt he'll be hammering them in at Ewood Park now I've put this! )

Just been reported on radio Leeds that Matt smith is in talks with Fulham about a move to join up with ross mc.

What's your thoughts in it?

Lifelongleedsfan

lifelongleedsfan

1.) Would be stupid to lose Smith now - we need his height. We don't need the money…. plus he's just signed a new contract? Why have Fulham suddenly replaced Norwich in regarding us as a 'feeder' club? They can Foxtrot Oscar.

2.) Realistically, how many games is he going to start, with all the new boys there it won't be many. We will miss his height but by all accounts that is all we will miss. Time to cash in

3.) A good coach would get a lot more out of Smithy. He needs to slim down and run off the ball more. he's not scored that many because of dire service from the midfield….but look what happened against Bradford….and yes, he really should have scored with that header in injury time. Over the course of a long hard season I reckon he'd get quite a few games - plus he's got a good attitude….not to be underestimated…and he hasn't asked to move, that I'm aware of.

4.) Don't really want to loose him, yes he is 25 but he has only been in the professional game a short time but I really think he would have had an impact this year.

This is the main problem with the Leeds / MC set up, where the "coach" has no control over transfer going ons.

5.) Take 3 mill and make them take 5 or 6 others as well as freebies
Won't be sorry if he stays, but I'm hoping our new style of play won't leave us having to play hoof ball

6.) I think smiths presence makes us play the long ball. he's no good with his feet, extremely slow off the mark and not great at hold up play although I do rate him as a last ditch impact player but without any wingers he is quite pointless

7.) Markten
So if we need his height i'm assuming we will have to pump the ball up to him!
Wouldnt it be better to play footbal on the floor?
Most of the GOOD footballing teams these days keep the ball close to the grass.

8.) 01 Sep 2014 17:37:46
I think Smith gives us options and sometimes height from a floated corner or cross is invaluable - it does not have to be hoof ball! A decent coach and a bit of time is what is needed - I want him to stay.

9.) Lump the ball up to him? i'd say with some width and decent crosses he can be a very effective player. Last year he done amazingly well and although I wouldn't have him as a regular starter he can prove his worth over the season of 46 league games.
Lee Chapman was not a great player and most of his goals were with his head but he was some player and scorer for us. And I don't remember the ball being lumped in to the box often, just great crosses from Dorigo and Speed one side and Sterland and Strachan the other! Smith might not be another Chapman but can do a job for us.
However, if Fulham offer big cash again, that's another story.

10.) Andy - don't think I ever mentioned hoof ball…if we get more width Smithy should trouble defences from conventional crosses and free kicks. I'm a big fan of the ball being kept on the floor, but also a fan of big centre forwards with good heading ability who can intimidate defences. We don't want a forward line full of diddymen.

Beppe Sannino has just quit as watford head coach. He's Italian and fits the bill.

Why quit when you are 2nd in the league and won 4 out of 5.

Seems a bit of a coincidence if you ask me.

Lifelongleedsfan.

1.) 31 Aug 2014 20:34:43
Coincidence my opinion. Reports say he was a fractious figure in the dressing room.

{Ed003's Note - Reports last week he had lost the dressing room,modern day player power has won again.}

Totally agree with you about Wootton. I think he has improved. Still makes the odd mistake but which player doesn't. He certainly doesn't deserve all the bad and negative comments that he gets.

I think we need to keep hold of Bamba just so that we have cover for Belusci or cooper should they get injured.

Seen a few reports that say we are in advanced talks but not counting my chickens just yet. Would be a good signing if we did get him.

My only worry is that Byram could be part of the deal as they were interested in him previously.
