I have heard our first 3 signings will be eric lichaj, noel hunt and barry bannan.
Might be rumours but its what I heard and thought I would see your guys views
MOT

luckyluciano

1.) Would make us a stronger team but still would like a bigger name than hunt even know I admit I havnt really seen him play

2.) Want to improve the team but possibly more importantly, get the crowds back. These will not do! We want quality - not has beens!

3.) No chance with bannan, to much quality for the championship

4.) Hunt would be a good singing and do well he is not a has been yet, he is a still can do

5.) Was that a different Bannan that played for us on loan then? Hardly set the world alight!

6.) Lol bannan is never going to drop down a division. he's far 2 good, look lower or you will b very disapointed at who we do get

7.) Please - no to all 3. We need quality hungry players. These are not hungry!

8.) 28 May 2013 08:26:59
So lichaj that has premier league experience is young and can play at left or right back. Hunt who is experienced and a good player and like I said its just what I have heard didn't say it was definitely happening geez haha

GFH are looking for a younger manager to takeover on a long term project to build a young team, sounds like we building our own barcelona (hopefully). Well few names were thrown about last might mainly richard naylor, paul dickov, paolo di canio and gus poyet. Personally I would love richard naylor a sort of promotion from within or even dickov he used young players at oldham and had no money to play with. Just my opinion. What young manager/retiring player would you all like?

luckyluciano

1.) David Flitcroft. Dicov has an appalling record at Oldham

2.) This could be a contreversial one but due to his knowledge of the game jamie carragher and he is someone who will instantly command respect

3.) Not any of them

4.) Naylor would be My choice, he knows club, he knows the under 18s and under 21s, and he knows the fans. IOMGilesyMOT

5.) We're more Torremolinos than Barcelona, but I get your point.

Trouble is - as with most things in modern football - results are everything and improvement is expected from Day One. Don't get me wrong, I'm with you (I actually Believed) - it's just a sad indicamanet of today's money-driven game. No time given for Managers to work at teams, to build them like that friendly chap across the Pennines.

6.) 20 Feb 2013 15:57:48
I actually asked for your choices on managers. And this was a conversation between me and several mates who are attending tonight. Last poster I know what your saying we need to give someone time warnock is too old to bide time with maybe richard naylor would be a better fit.

We need a certain way to play we have a brilliant young development squad and we need to build that and keep hold of anyone who performs to their highest for us

See you tonight those that will be attending. To those that don't you must be against the whole of lufc not with us

MOT

7.) "See you tonight those that will be attending. To those that don't you must be against the whole of lufc not with us"

I take exception to that statement, some of us CAN'T be there for various reasons, money, distance, commitments, but that does NOT mean we are AGAINST LUFC!

MOT (from wherever!)

8.) Agree with the last poster, if people can't make it for whatever reason it doesn't reflect on their support for the club. I have travelled to Europe when we were challenging for honours, but 2 kids mean I can't afford it
I would keep those r******* statements for your mates
Don't suppose you will see this until later as I think I just passed you in Leeds city centre drinking a can of special brew
Harrogate Rob

9.) 20 Feb 2013 17:49:20
Last poster I mean the ones who choose not to, the ones who say its bates fault I am very so sorry I should have been more specific.

To those who will be attending see you them who aren't keep marching on and following the might whites

MOT

10.) Id like poyet manager, radebe assistant with batty, Mcallister and an ex leeds forward legend as striker coach. Hasselbaink maybe. Dream team

11.) Go back to your x-boxes. We don't choose owners, managers or players. We are customers. Currently Warnock is the manager, he has a terrific record at this level so shut up and support the team. Stability is what is needed and promotion is not unattainable yet.

12.) Barcelona. You have a way with words luckyluciano. Like your positive spin.

13.) I'm afraid my choice for new manager would not go beyond the obvious, Poyet or Adkins. Managing a club like Leeds with the demands of the fans, is no picnic. We have new owners, and are in transition, an unproven inexperienced coach such as Naylor or Redfearn is not the answer, (I do like them). Poyet and Adkins have genuine experience, and are young managers. They both play a free flowing style of play, that has passing and pace at the heart of the philosophy. For the current position we are in either of these two could give 3-5yrs of there lives to the cause, giving us the much needed stability required as we head into another summer with a new Manager, our third in three years this time round.

14.) Luckyluciano fair enough you go to games and well done for your support but your negativity towards other fans who can't make it is beyond belief.

If people want to go to ER and support good on them and if they don't let them support at home or stay away because of Bates that is their choice and nothing to do with you.

WF6 White

15.) 22 Feb 2013 14:11:35
Wf6 white I was just stating the people who stay away without them being too far a field are damaging their own club.

Our support is vital and helps push the team on I. e blackpool.

I maybe critical but like many others who point finger at bates, neil, GFH or any other person presumably able to be at fault. I point it at us as a fan base. How can we be best fans in world when we are wholly negative about our club? How can you turn up to a game boo warnock and expect the players to keep their heads?

Bates is gone for the good of everyone.

Also I like barcelonas concept of building a style of play and making everyone down to the under 8s play it and we should follow suit build the youth on the premise of a style of play. Works for barca can work for anyone. Would take years to impliment but would be good and positive.

MOT

16.) What about karl robinson from mk dons

17.) Poyet (would also give serious consideration to Lambert or Martinez if they were to be sacked). Robinson not ready; definite no to Di Canio. That's it really. NW through to end of season. Really not sure about Adkins -was at Scunthorpe a long time, had money at Soton; not sure about his ability now to make the jump to a club with really big expections -no spring chicken. Chapel A

19 Feb 2013 10:43:55
Just heard that NW might be walking (probably old news) also that a consortium has put in a second bid to take a shareholding in us (again probably old news). Also heard we have been in contact with nigel adkins, alec mcliesh (if that's how you spell it) and paolo di canio but more likely we get adkins or mcliesh

O'Leary's fame at Leeds rests upon his promotion of a series of younger players, Jonathan Woodgate, Lee Bowyer, Alan Smith, Harry Kewell, Stephen McPhail, Eirik Bakke, Ian Harte and Danny Mills (signed for 4M from Charlton Athletic). He promoted several members of the youth team into an exciting Leeds side that played a pressing game relying on youthful enthusiasm. Alan Smith in particular exemplified this attitude and O'Leary's arrival seemed to many fans like the arrival of a new attitude at Leeds - bold, innovative and attacking.

In an interview regarding the decline of Leeds, O'Leary stated "I never wanted to leave Leeds. The fans are fantastic to me here. I hope they stay up because I had great times at the club".

O'Leary has since stated that he would like the chance to return as manager of Leeds United, after Peter Ridsdale left the club. The news was met with mixed views from Leeds United fans.

I don't want to jump the gun or anything but I wouldn't mind O'leary back as manager. If we had a board that kept an eye on his spending so spending over 10 million on players such as Robbie Fowler would happen again I used to love his style of play. We was such an attacking team and didn't fear anyone.

Like I said, under the correct guidance of spending to an acceptable limit from the board. David O'Leary could be a good manager.

2.) 19 Feb 2013 14:08:34
I completely agree with you, I said they were rumours and to be fair we need a manager who will take a chance on the youngsters like poleon, dawson, the turners, gimpel and payne. All these are brilliant players with potential and would be far more exciting than since that time.

3.) O'Leary's success with youth was based on the work of George Graham and Aidy Boothroyd.
I remember watching pre-season friendlies where Graham would spend the game with the youth players like Smith, talking them through the game, decisions made. when they got the chance, they were ready. That had nothing to do with O'Leary.

4.) Funny how people still think O'Leary was reckless with money. This might be news to some, but DL never spent a penny on anyone - that was purely down to Ridsdale.
O'Leary stated who he wanted, Ridsdale spent the cash - Personally I would love to see him back at ER. With all of the also rans who have managed the team, we have never come close to matching that style and passion that his team had.

The blame for our dimise is purely down to Ridsdale.

5.) Di Canio going to Hammers, probably.

6.) 19 Feb 2013 15:56:22
Get a grip, how can people be blinkered about o'leary he was as much to blame as Ridsdale & co in one way or another, can't even go there, let's not live in the past let's move FORWARD! Mot, mighty, mighty whites APN-ing63

7.) Mccleish was at Sundays game versus City

I hate these fans who say McDermott out its going to destroy what little chance we have of turning this around. I know its frustrating but remember its a 2 year plan and we are only 11 games into the season.

I for one will always back Brian and the lads because when you wear a Leeds shirt you deserve the support of the best fans in the world.

oh and those who say we paid 1m for wootton we infact paid 150k with add one up to a 1m deal.

i hope we can turn it round but I will always back Brian regardless

luckyluciano

1.) I agree, but I am not frustrated I am deeply concerned that if this continues we will be relegated, I bet that isn't part of the 2 year plan. This streak needs to stop and very quickly!

2.) We do need to avoid relegation this season and then most of warnocks carp are out of contract and we can have a decent team built on a good footing.

but until then

MOT

3.) Look at Reading's promotion season - they got off to a pretty bad start. We won't go up or down this season. Let's give him time and stay calm.

I think this is the first time we can honestly say we don't know what's going to happen from here on in. I mean transfer wise.

I can't guess who we will sign and despite rumours I think there is no chance of us guessing till they are signed.
I like the "stay below the radar" approach.

But guys who would you like to see next season?

I think we could do with
Le fondre/mcgoldrick
M phillips/luongo
M mills/a pearce

Just my personal preference

With us safe I would try bringing some youth players in to get them used to playing in first team. I would also consider only getting rid of pugh, brown, rachubka and morison. I know some disagree but I think the rest could be squad and cover players.

I agree, I think it is time for a choice few to join first team training on a regular basis. Simon Lenighan, Chris Dawson, Ross Killock, Charlie Taylor, maybe the Turner's and possibly a few more if they are ready, if not this season, certainly in pre season training with a view to becoming regulars in the next year or two.

I went on saturday and tuesday and what a difference a day makes, we looked composed confident especially in 2nd half on saturday and definitely last night. I won't get over excited and say we will walk it next season but I am very confident we will perform better than this or last season.
I think BMD could do with just maybe 2 or 3 players to give some pace and flair.

MOT with a new found optimism

In Italian law, he was found guilty in march which is when conviction started, his conviction will be spent on that date the following year.

So to clarify his 1 year conviction would be spent this march. He is only on stage 2 of appeal and no date set for a new case. Also has to be given atleast 2 months to mount case and then he can appeal again if he wants which would take us past march.

Football league will know this and so can't boot him out which is why they haven't even tried.

Under 18s can use for games still but I don't think there is any till July so would be weird they would be doing anything there and Newcastle aren't in for him have completely dismissed it as looking at younger cheaper options

I agree, we had big names and they never perform. Maybe someone who is given a chance to become big and have one last chance would put more in.

He has Leeds on his top so I will back him till he gives me reason to doubt him.
