Looking ahead to next season, it's going to be difficult to replicate what we have done this season . We can't sit on what we have . I think a left back is needed and We need some competition in central mid as I felt we have been a little short when Phillips has been out and about it will likely look at a creative mid also . I think 3 key first team signings is needed and hopefully the young players we signed last season like Geldhart Summerville dremeh could break in to first team squad and perhaps of the likes of Rodrigo and Roberts can look to put pressure on bamford I think we could do ok . I'm liking what I'm seeing with Lorente, koch and strujk at CB and Dallas can play anywhere, and the fact we are finishing the season so well is always a good sing for me, quite often teams can start the next season where they finish off, we have good momentum.

Keeping Raphina is as important as any signing we could make. You could add Meslier Ayling Llorente Struijk Philips Dallas and Bamford to that list but don’t think any of them are a big flight risk. Think hope and pray Rapha will stay as he is the one there is some doubt around.

There could be up to six to go so I would hope we would bring in the same number, Casillas, Beradi, Foreshaw and Pablo plus contracts ending for Alioski and Roberts.
There are also question marks over Cooper and Costa being good enough. If we want to build on this season we should be busy in the window bringing in a LB, CDM, CAM, winger, no 10 and striker.

Over 50 points and top half finish in our first season is a good achievement, hopefully we can get the squad to push on and compete for a top 8 place next season.

We won't be a surprise package for any of the opposition next season that's the difference and the source of the so called Second Season Syndrome. The thing is Bielsa who is a football professor will also have learned as has been been evident on how he slightly tweaked the formation this season by putting Dallas in with Philips and Klich in mid field so its already getting very interesting on how things will develop for nest season.

I think that is more like 8 to get rid of. I would keep Costa and Roberts and Cooper only if they accept that for 90% of the games they will be bench warmers, altho we do have a full bench from the U23s plus Klich and Harrison (when we recruit) .
As for def mid I am more than happy with Koch covering that position.

I don’t think Berra will go.
Left back. Striker and creative midfielder I reckon.

Leeds1970 - it’s not like we were surprise package for long - certainly not by the halfway point of the season - but yet our results have been better overall since then.

‘Second season syndrome’ is somewhat overrated, as there are many factors which could lead to fall-off from the first season - a different combination for each individual club. For the Blunts, it was largely down to lack of money (partly down to c.v.) for strengthening the squad, both in quality and numbers, to build on the previous season’s success - so when a shed-load of injuries hit them, they were immediately in deep s#*t. It may also be that Blunts were not able to implement Wilder’s very distinct tactics etc throughout their Club, in the way that Bielsaball runs throughout Leeds, so the second-string players coming in may have struggled to meet his demands. Another factor was the alarming drop-off in form after the first lockdown and shortened pre-season for them to recover and reset in terms of confidence. With confidence already low, they were probably more in need than most of a lift from their supporters - which of course they were denied by c.v. All in all, the Blunts were virtually relegated before a ball was kicked.

Conversely, our confidence is high, with form having become stronger towards the end of this season, and it’s widely expected that further shrewd additions will be made to our squad this summer. Hopefully there will be no unexpected bumps as football, and this country as a whole, navigates the ‘roadmap’, and crowds will be able to return for the next season. Clearly there are few certainties in life, but those factors would suggest it is more likely than not that the Mighty Whites will continue on an upward trajectory.

Maybe teams decided the effort for 3 points best saved for the next game.
Give us a go. But not too much.

Sign Rodrigo Dr Paul quality left back Ali done a very good job but we need a natural left back another winger Lang looks ok we've had a great season but Mr Bielsa won't dwell on that MOT everyone.
