If I could choose 3 players from England squad. Prob be. Stones. Grealish and Sterling.

Choose them for what Aus? A 3 a-side team? Signings for Leeds?

Lookin at we need Aus, I said Saka as LWB, DCL as Paddy back up, then Foden or Grealish, hard call, age is on Fodens side, and he has been with Bielsas understudy Pep, while Grealish may struggle with MBs demands, remember he has been with Bill and Ben the flower pot men for last few seasons, would be a massive step up for the lad.

3.) 01 Jul 2021

Mount, Bellingham and Saka for me.

I did consider Bellingham.

Bellingham, Saka and DCL would be my picks.

No Saka for me, not a MB player, doesn’t know how to track back and work for the team.
It would be Bellingham, Grealish (hurts to say it) and Walker.

{Ed001's Note - have you watched Saka play for Arsenal? He plays full-back, both sides, regularly, because of his willingness to work back for the team.}

Indeed Ed, and I think there were at least a couple of occasions against the Czechs when he made vital interceptions in our box.

{Ed001's Note - he is a brilliant young player, I would kill to have him in the Liverpool squad.}

MG - Saka is currently far closer to being Bielsa-type player than Grealish is, though Grealish is undoubtedly a good player and could certainly be made a better one by. Bielsa, or Pep of course - which would, in turn, make him even more influential for England.

9.) 01 Jul 2021
01 Jul 2021 17:45:32
Saka, Bellingham and finally Mount over Foden and Grealish .

10.) 01 Jul 2021

Saka Bellingham and White for me.

With all due respect Clueless, knowing Grealish as well as a lot of Villa fans do, and taking into account that he has been at VP from the tender age of 6, you would know and understand that Jack is Jack.
He plays the game now exactly as he has always played the game, remember we have seen him develop through the youth set up for nearly 20 years.
Jack is already a great player, and the only way Jack will be more effective is with better players round him, and not by trying to change him or his style.
If you watch him every week as we do, and apart from his heading ability, he has it all.

I agree, trying to change Grealish would be like trying to change Gazza. The genius is in that playing style.

If he has that belief as well Dave then he has hit his ceiling which would be a shame.
Every player can get better. Fitter, stronger, more tactically aware and so on.

Phillips kal and perlo.

Exactly CW - I seem recall even Pablo commented that Bielsa had improved some aspects of his game.

Villadave - you really are doing Grealish a disservice if you believe he cannot become a better player, and you as a Villa fan, who has watched him develop so long, and supposedly cherish him greatly, should know better than that. If all Villa fans, Deano and JT feel the same way, his talent and potential is obviously even more wasted in your club than we thought, and the sooner he leaves your complacent set-up the better, for the player himself and for England.

I just think the players round him will improve him.
I personally don`t think you can coach natural talent, to a degree it will develop on its own.
Some players would never improve, no matter who was their manager is.
George Best, Ronaldo, and as Alf said Gazza, and there are more.
Natural talent is either there or not, with Jack it Is there.
Raphinha, has been helped by Bielsa somewhat, simply because he has that continental element to his game, and the switch to the English game is huge.
Like Grealish you need to keep him, talent is great to watch.

Superb WW

And Mr Fabio Capello would agree with you!

Capello stating today that Bielsa had made KP the best modern midfielder he had seen!

Kane, Sancho and Sterling. instantly sell them for a frankly sickening amount of money, got to be close to £300m, spend £100m bringing in 3 or 4 quality players to take us to the next level and pocket the change, simple.

02 Jul 2021 06:39:25
Villadave - guess we’ll just have to agree to disagree re Grealish. Playing with better players will obviously help him, I and others on here have also said that, but truly excellent coaches are not just about systems, and can help unlock potential even the player himself could not see.

Talking about playing with better players, not that this will happen…….

……imagine Grealish playing at 10 for Leeds, with Rodrigo or Bamford ahead of him, Raphinha to his right and Harrison our new winger to his left, with Klich or Dallas alongside him and the Yorkshire Pirlo keeping things tight but ticking behind them. With Meslier, our new left back, Ayling and any two of our excellent CB, picking up where they left off at the end of last season, keeping the opposition at bay the whole team/ squad purring through the gears, expertly guided by Bielsa. Our new left winger and centre mid come in the 65th minute, helping take our play yet another level and half an hour later Grealish and Raphinha play a neat one two and Grealish bends a sweet shot into the top right corner for the winning goal, with the last kick of the game. The away supporters rise as one, to exult the name of their new hero. The Old Trafford faithful stunned into silence.

Only in Grealish’s dreams, pity. 😜.

Not really Dave, just because I’m capable of writing reasonably creatively about something, it doesn’t mean I really want it to happen. As a ten year old in creative writing, I wrote about a plot to assassinate Mrs T, though clearly I didn’t actually want that to happen, just for her not to be PM any more.

I’d be happy if Grealish joined Leeds, as I’d be sure that Bielsa was confident of getting the best out of him. I’m equally happy for him not to come here, so long as he goes somewhere where he will be enabled to become his best possible self. It would be a pity for someone so talented to retire from football with regrets that he did not fully achieve his potential. It is sad that neither George Best nor Gazza, or Le Tissier for that matter, actually fulfilled their potential for one reason or another. It would be equally sad if Grealish failed to do so too.

I’m also happily confident that Bielsa has a clear view of what he needs from his number 10, to achieve the Club’s aims for the coming season, and that if he didn’t believe he had a player or players to provide that to the necessary level within our existing playing staff, Orta would be given the necessary funds to recruit a new player with the attributes Bielsa required, and would do so.

Yes I do understand Clueless, it was tongue in cheek mate, I am not that naive, and yes your writing is, shall I use the word articulate.
But I would not worry yourself too much about Jack, he is all good, and he will carry on improving, as most do the more experience they get.
And if that is with Villa he would be ecstatic, all members of his family are claret and blue.
Carry on writing as you do, I find your posts very interesting, although some go against the grain a bit. 😜.

It’s good that you understand, perhaps you could have a word with your mate Whackattack, perhaps you can help him see the light, we’ve all tried to help him, but we don’t seem able to get through.

Good of you to use the word articulate, I thought for a moment you were going to say verbose. The way I see it, there’s a lot of words in the English language, so we might as well use a few of them. Before I lost my job due to ill health, I’d been writing briefing for Government Ministers, including for the PM, for around 18 years. While I don’t miss the stress of the job, I do miss the writing.

As for going against the grain, it would be a boring world if some of us didn’t.

Agree Clueless, variation and differences in opinions is just how it should be, we are all different, and that should be realised.
Sorry to hear of your health problems mate, I hope they are they short term.
