I for one was not happy at the beginning of season when I heard we were getting bmacs mate hunty. Now to hear how much he is taking from us fans each week and possibly the highest earner too, I am incensed! I have always liked bmac but jesus I know he is nice but doesn't mean being nice to his mateys too such as hunty & kebe. Very very bad record with the money he has had to spend and to have us playing rubbish too. Now I just want the ownership sorting and for him to go as lost faith in him signing any decent players even with money.

Pretty sure BMc will have no input into how much a player gets paid, this will be down to negotiations with the Chairman and Managing Director.
Agree its a poor signing by Brian, but a bit harsh to blame him for the wages fiasco as well.

2.) 01 Apr 2014
To be fair, we all thought Kebe was going to be a great signing he's disappointed us all. Luke Murphy has by far been our best midfielder this season, he was a good signing as he's still young and will improve. I think the signings he's made should have improved the squad but just haven’t performed.

3.) 01 Apr 2014
He's not the only one we havnt signed good enough players now in the last 4yrs

cellinio says mccormack asked to leave for cardiff.what sort of a captain is he.he obviously taking the piss when he kisses badge. he.s just the same as rest only here for money

Mr T.

{Ed007's Note - McCormack also made it clear to someone at Celtic that he fancied a move back up the road in January but the clubs couldn't agree on a fee.}

Sorry OP but your comments are completely unfounded.

"With the money he has had to spend" erm??

1 mil for Murphy and a few loans/FT's?

I understand tactically we have been inept this season, and realise kebe and stewart have, THUS FAR, been horsepiss, but we are starting to see GFHC for their real selves, and I would not be surprised if those two were BMC's 4/5th choice.

RE Hunt, he was a free transfer, the only reason why you pick up free transfers is because you have no money. I am sure NH would not have been signed had BMC been allowed to spend the money he was promised post-Murphy.

Finally am I the only person who can remember when kebe and hunt used to skin premier league defenders every week? Hunt maybe less so, but remember the last time BMC saw kebe play football was when he was good, you can't blame him for thinking he still has it.

6.) 01 Apr 2014
The whole culture of the club is to blame. We have inept owners who clearly misled everyone into believing that they had money to invest when clearly they did not, nor have they the ability to manage the club, we have a manager who cannot motivate the team, players who clearly are only here for the money and have no pride in the shirt and Mr B clearly still meddling in the background. The proposed take over is shambolic and is the stuff that 'soap' scriptwriter can only dream of. The club cannot continue like this for much longer GFH and Mr Bates have a lot to answer for. The only people who seem to care about the club are the fans!

7.) 01 Apr 2014
Murphy are best mid fielder by far. Only because most others are so poor. He is decidedly average. Tonge is better. Brown is better, Austin when fully fit and playing a defensive role is better. Green was better when he was here. Mowatt on a par but more potential. Is Murphy worth £22000 a week don't think so. More like £5000 until he improves.

8.) 01 Apr 2014
Cant wait for new owners to get . with luck mr mc.will be out and take some of the wasters with him. the only bad thing is I will get paid for what he's done to the my team.

9.) 01 Apr 2014
"RE Hunt, he was a free transfer, the only reason why you pick up free transfers is because you have no money."

So if Suarez was a free transfer tomorrow you'd take him?

Doesn't the matter of wages come into consideration here?

I'd rather pay a million quid for a decent player on 10 grand a week than get a freebie who want's 25 grand a week and never plays?

{Ed013's Note - Free transfers sometimes come with a bigger wage due to no fee for the player}

10.) 01 Apr 2014
I agree entirely, 100%.

The problem is, GFH were saying they would fund a decent team for BMC over the summer, to both him and the fans/press. BMC then went and found the players he wanted assuming he had money, and every leeds fan online was filling the pages with (what we thought at the time) were realistic targets.

Unfortunately it seems GFH suddenly decided on numerous occasions they weren't going to fund transfers, and BMC, faced with an army of passionate fans and a press hungry for leeds flavoured blood, had to fill the gaps with the best players available for a whopping £0 INITIAL OUTLAY.

After recent events I have no doubt that GFH would rather commit the club to a higher weekly wage (knowing they might well bugger off soon) than pay any money towards a transfer themselves.

Smith, Kebe, Stewart and Hunt were all longshot "signings" with the above pretext, in my opinion. We got lucky with Smith, shame about the other three :)

11.) 01 Apr 2014
And if Suarez was a free transfer tomorrow I would catch the train up tomorrw and pick him up, walk him round to lime street, buy him a kfc and escort him to LS11 myself.

He would waltz round every defence in this league twice inbetween each hatrick, we would be promoted within two years playing him and our youths. This division is nothing special, Leicester and Burnley are just less sh**e than the rest of us

12.) 01 Apr 2014
Murphy? Are you kidding?

Totally agree with you the culture at the club is the worst I have ever seen.
BmD says he wants to build from the youth and bring the youth into the first team, players that will wear our shirt with pride.
I for one believed in what he was saying, maybe he needs time I REALLY don't know but he's not doing himself any favours with theses lacklustre performances.
Is it BmD fault? I've been told he had a list of players and GFH were handed the list and he GOT NONE.of them.
Maybe he signed hunt-kebe-stewart etc to keep us up and when the takeover appeared its wrecked all the players confidence? I just don't know anymore but at xmas we were in a good position somethings a miss ;(

"BmD says he wants to build from the youth and bring the youth into the first team, players that will wear our shirt with pride."

Really? Where are they then? Where's Dawson? Give the likes of Taylor, Walters, Killock and Ariyibi a chance.

i have sat on the fence for to long now please wake up and smell the coffee bmd will take us nowhere, yes we can all blame the players, but come on there is no confidence in the manager, he is whingeing about the takeover for an excuse, pathetic just go before it is to late and we are back in div 1, I don't care if he is a nice man I just want a manager with balls who can command the best out of what he has got, I have never seen a worse team in the 40 years I have supported the club.

16.) 03 Apr 2014
BMD has done very little wrong, in my eyes. It's very difficult to motivate players who haven't been paid and professional sports are all primarily confidence-based.
These guys are fearing for their livelihood (doesn't matter what they're being paid, they're as human as the rest of us) and know that the dire performances mean that a few of them will find it rather difficult to get another job for next season without a significant pay cut. We know a lot of the Warnock dross are out at the end of the season and that helps immensely with the wage problems and should free up cash to invest next season but. the dross who are still here know this too. So, what motivation do they have to play?
You people all insist that these guys are all just in it for the money but, we know they're rubbish and they know it, too. Why would they give their all now?
The players showed their belief in the manager following his (sort of) sacking earlier in the season.
Perhaps BMD should be sacked every Friday and reinstated Saturday evening for all the remaining games.
Tough times for all at the club, at the moment. Calling for BMD's head is totally counter-productive.
NOT ONE MANAGER WORTH HIS SALT WOULD TAKE THE JOB IF BMD WERE TO LEAVE NOW.

{Ed013's Note - I respect your opinion, but come on the manager has to take some of the blame for his poor selections and lack of tactical knowledge during games. The players have been paid every month up until last week where they got half of their wages. What excuse can they use for the poor poor performances before that? When Brian got sacked the players produced one of their better performances of the season, since then it has been dire again, what does that say? I don't want a manager sacked every season, but to say he has done little wrong is a little naive. I would love the Club to be sorted and Brian to be given a chance to prove all the doubters wrong, but I also feel there would be a long line of applicants for his job if he was to go. Just my opinion though from what I see week in week out. I do agree though that Brian has had a lot to deal with, but come kick off the players should give their all for the Club}

17.) 03 Apr 2014
Ed013 (continuation of above), a lot of these guys are coming to the end of their contract and more than a few have never given their all in all their time at Leeds. Why would they start now?
Truly can't see what BMD has done wrong. For most of the season he didn't have wide players so, tactically we've been completely without a plan B (push ball out wide to stretch play). He got in what he could and largely, it hasn't worked out but, I can't really fault the manager for that. Didn't expect much from this season. Never have. Too much deadwood running down overly lucrative contracts. Around now would have been the right time to start a takeover process, completed in time to assess the squad (what's left when here's a mass exodus due to contract expiry).
Really is difficult to get folk to hit the highs of performance needed week-in week-out, when they're already thinking of pastures new.
Tactically, these players have played long-ball for the last four seasons and seem determined to resort to it at every opportunity. We need wholesale change at ER and BMD could be just the man to deliver that. not without backing, though, which he had to begin with but, GFH seem to have completely split, politically, on the future of the club. That really hasn't helped, for which I have to blame Haigh. He's had his eye on the prize of owning the club himself and his personal greed and ambition have caused real problems on and off the pitch.
Picking up on original poster's point: I suspect that Hunt's wages are high because he came on a free and it's likely was offered higher wages in lieu of a bigger signing-on fee.
The majority of these players finished the last three seasons exactly the same way; getting battered, consistently, by around three goals per game. BMD can't change that without getting rid of those players.
On the other hand, it could be a good idea that BMD is encouraged to also leave at the end of the season as I think it's quite possible this whole experience has scarred the man.
But seriously, thinking that BMD leaving now and there would be a queue of good managers lining up to take the job is truly naïve. Uncertain ownership, club losing millions, players all coming to the end of their contract. smells exactly like it did last time around and with any luck, we don't get el Tel and Roque Junior, this time. Nobody would want what BMD's been putting up with and possibility of not even getting paid for it. It's a job that's impossible, right now.

{Ed013's Note - The thing is mate, when we was crying out for wingers he was supported, but brought in possibly the 2 worst wingers in the league, performance wise. His selections have been very questionable with playing people out of position when we have players who can play in their natural positions. It wouldn't surprise me if Wickham rang Poyet up and asked to go back to Sunderland as playing a number 9 out wide is a crap decision. I really hope Brian can come through this, but unfortunately he has been backed more than most recently and brought in some poor players}
