The Football league have said "The Football League will now consider the findings of the hearing." and Mike Farnan has said "We'll have to wait and see what they (The Football league)decide to do.

Can the Football League still block the takeover?

1.) 05 Apr 2014
Surely they can't do anything now he is the owner! Well I've just got myself a vodka red bull and it tastes so much nicer knowing massimo is our new owner love leeds till I die! Mot

2.) 05 Apr 2014
My understanding from readig the FL's appeals regulations is that the appeal hearings decision in final and binding for both parties so they cannot appeal any further. Hopefully we can now move on and make sure we don't get dragged into the relegation zone .

It'll be interesting to see if we have a new manager by the next game. Any bets on Uncle Festa!

3.) 05 Apr 2014
Its just put their nose out of joint because Cellino won, think they'll just accept the ruling, he's the owner now, it ould go on forever, appeallng the appeal, don't worry he's in for good.

4.) 05 Apr 2014
Just listened to interview with mike Farnan on radio Leeds and he sounds keen as mustard to be involved and maybe buy out. remaining GFH shares, let's hope so. Can't see how football league can overall/appeal against legal decision. What they should be doing is looking at good look at themselves and admit they had no right to ban Cellino in first place

5.) 05 Apr 2014
I was just coming on to ask the same thing mate, just wanted to enjoy the moment first but I'd like to know what or hopefully if the fl can do anything about it now, surely u can't appeal an appeal or what would be the point in having an appeal process in the first place. Can't wait to hear what Massimo has to say about it all, only been involved with us for a few months and already u can fill a book with quality quotes. I wasn't sure which way this appeal would go but I always said Massimo must know something to A, still want to go thru all this and B plow all that money in with the hint of a chance of losing that money

Why, why why survivor,

Forgive me survivor I just don't believe any more!

Read the written judgement paragraph 121 on the FL website

I think the FL statement that they are disappointed and it was of personal pretty much confirms that they have it in for Leeds United

In reality Cellinio at worst case has s**t accountants or advisors, the FL have in the past approved a convicted rapist and a convicted embezzler - Cellinio has appealed the case in Italy and whatever the FL want to say remains innocent there even the QC said that the evidence points to it not bring a deliberate act - Basically as I understand it the FPP test was introduced to judge whether the prospective new owner has both funds and capability to run a football club properly, in Cellinios case 22 years at Caliagri and a bank account with £1.2 billion in it ( enough said ) - The irony is they approved GFH who openly admitted that they knew fek all about football and had not got a pot to pi$$ in and from day one were looking for investment - My opinion is the FL were looking to make a case of some one for all of their other mess ups and Leeds was the perfect club to make an example of - It's sad they would rather make a point and see one of their member clubs go tits up than try to find a solution that help the club and it's employees (it's not just about the footballers). I do think it will be a roller coaster of a ride but whatever is said you can not argue about his commitment to do the right thing by Leeds and his obvious passion for Football - welcome Massimo I for one wish you well and hope you succeed - Happy punter today - you can't buy me but I today have a soft spot for you!!

The appeal should be final with regards to this case, I think the FL will be looking at changing the wording of their rules.

BTW, has anyone actually read Mr Kerr's reasoning behind his decision? It's mindbending, and also shows the FL lawyers as just a little petty ;)

10.) 05 Apr 2014
How can a board of people with a vested interest in putting Leeds in administration be allowed to make this decision. The chairman of Millwall clearly had a benefit to his club if Leeds had been deducted 10 points, Leeds would immediately become relegation favourites along side Millwall, Barnsley and Yeovil. I can't think of another legal situation where this happens. I'm sure if we had lost this appeal it would have been overturned at high court. The FL need to have long look at this process and make sure the members of the committee with any connection to the club in question or any vested interest either way are bared from the process. Why not just pass it over to a QC in the first instance because it seems to me that all unsuccessful takers will be appealed in the future.

11.) 05 Apr 2014
Under the british legal system the conclusion reached by the qc is binding (my wife is a barrister in a major legal company) so don't worry about the FL making a fresh assault on Massimo - one thing is for sure, its one in the eye for Ken Bates pup[et that goes by the name of Sean Harvey! MOT

I think that means how to apply the QCs findings in future rather than any other action. Even if they challenged the qc in hight court they would fail . It's all about what constituted dishonesty

13.) 05 Apr 2014
All in all it just shows how much the FL hate leeds and have it in for MC. It's been a joke from start to finish! I hope this is onwards and upwards for us now.

The Football League decision wasn't taken by lawyers. Nor will Kerr's decision be considered by any.
Personally, I think that the Football League body is right to have representation from each club but it should act impartially. In the case of Leeds, we have always been given harsh punishment or questionable treatment. Given that the FL is largely made up of competing teams serving their own interest first and foremost (and staffed through nepotism or connections rather than genuine ability), then all tests such as fit and proper persons should go to a completely independent arbitration panel in the first instance with a secondary panel appointed in the event of an appeal being lodged.

15.) 05 Apr 2014
Just goes to prove that the football league are not fit for purpose.H ow could they be unbiased when made up of chairmen who rely on our twice yearly income (do turkeys vote for xmas)governed by a Bates yes man
who was kicked in the trossacks by GFH.No wonder this corrupt lot wanted to hold us back.

16.) 05 Apr 2014
Yes agree the 121 paragraph says it all. do like the survivor song to that tom Jones song Delilah. have you got an encore. MOT

17.) 05 Apr 2014
When they say they will consider what to do next surely they mean change their rules so they won't send one of their members into admin when a multi millionaire is willing to take them over and clear all their debts . The rules where set out with the agenda of protecting their member clubs not kicking them in the teeth so obviously their not fit for purpose .

18.) 05 Apr 2014
I would predict a definite riot if this INDEPENDENT decision was challenged. We have bought a no refund Cellino ticket and it promises to be an exciting ride. But let's face it we wanted this and there really were no other tickets available. Long live Massimo Cellino and THANK YOU

19.) 05 Apr 2014
No panic we will be away from this shower of rubbish in no time

20.) 06 Apr 2014
The picture on bates face when he heard, PRICLESS, ha ha ha

21.) 06 Apr 2014
Congratulations massimo cellino!
hopefully you can take leeds united
back to the premiership where a lot of us
think where we belong
we now need to start a campsign
to get the fl to change the set up
and elect a completely unbiased
group of elected directors and get rid
of that shower of flight!

22.) 06 Apr 2014
The FL can act if the appeal in the Italians courts against tax evasion isn't successful. If the 'conviction' in Italy is upheld at appeal, then the FL can rule on Cellino being unfit. Potentially they can still block him from owning the club. That is my interpretation of the current situation however if I am wrong then hopefully someone will correct me. It's all still a little bit murky from what I can see.

The Football League could clear the Italian businessman Massimo Cellino to take over Leeds United this week after Cellino's successful appeal against being barred, then disqualify him within three months if a Sardinian court says Cellino was dishonest when found guilty of tax evasion. That possibility has been opened up by the judgment of a QC, Tim Kerr, who allowed Cellino's appeal after the League barred the Italian from buying Leeds due to his conviction in Cagliari on 18 March.

The League said it was "disappointed" with the decision, and when its board meets on Thursday, it must decide if it should allow Cellino's takeover to proceed, even though the written reasons of the Cagliari judge, Dr Sandra Lepore, could by June find he was guilty of dishonesty.

This unfortunate farce is sadly far from over, the possible saving grace would be if Cellino can be pursuaded to work with Farnon's team who could front the joint team.
