MC sells Caligari. Signed the papers at 2230 last night statement tomorrow. Can everyone now please stop saying he has no money. Having money and not spending it is not the same as having no money. He is possibly the richest chairman we have ever had, and from the look of it so far probably the smartest.

Just in time for him to name new manager today and just in time to sign the players released on 1st of july, coming together nicely imo, less of the doom and gloom please. MOT

Yes and can everyone stop thinking he s going to spend his cash at Leeds. He s a seller, Ross is the next sale and he ll pocket that too.

Well said.

4.) 11 Jun 2014
This still doesn't alter the fact that we won't be signing anyone soon

I am sick of the sycophantic B.S. that we keep pouring out on this guy. This 'clever' owner has walked into a business nightmare with his eyes wide shut. He has no emotional attachment to Leeds - he tried to buy Crystal Palace and West Ham before managing to get us. Any money he may have coming from the sale of Cagliari will be well tied up servicing the debts accrued in the running and acquisition of Leeds and the upcoming repayments to GFH for the outstanding dues on the transaction.

He is a convicted fraudster whom an Italian judge described in their summing up as 'a man of marked criminal tendencies capable of using every kind of deception to achieve his ends'.

I will start to believe some of the hype about MC when I see his intent and see him follow through on anything that will move the Club forward:

I will buy back ER, it is a trifle I will go to the bank - it ain't happening folks.

I will invest in our youth system - he has told the academy staff that he wants them to run on the same budget he had at Cagliari (€20K). Cat 2 academies need to spend at least £490K pa to satisfy FA. So he wants the academy to be junk status.

I will buy back TA - its been abandoned - he hates it and what it represents.

We will be in the premiership in 2 years - there is no squad investment; we don't have a manager, we don't even have a kit for next season.

He has installed his family to the highest board positions, so his cronies are getting their payday for sure - but are there any professional football or business people now running the Club?

I hate to say it, but Bates may have taken this Club through Administration and relegation to the 3rd tier (and there's no guarantee MC won't have us down there as well!), but from what I am seeing he didn't do 1/4 the damage that this maniac has done in a few weeks. Its all very well deluding ourselves that MC is doing great, but there is no evidence that he is doing anything other than dismantling most of the club.

I hope that we play good football and have big attendances next season - I am not so sure MC cares - he will use his money to flatter his ego; if that means moving football from ER - well he did it to Cagliari - be careful what you wish for from this 'clever' owner.

Hope he paid his tax on the "Unearned Income".

Sold for £36m

8.) 11 Jun 2014
All these things Realitycheck are actual facts. u can't dismiss them out of hand. we just have to wait and see what's his intentions are.its I said b4. its a very italian thing. with no experience of running an english football club. he won't be spending £5m on a player, he won't be buying back ER. he's going to employ an unknown "coach", which means a "yes" man. whose to say he won't have a say in tactics and team selection. 30 odd coaches speaks for itself, doesn't bode well for a stable future. so far its been a PR stunt, how long b4 he gets bored and sinks the club further into turmoil. fans want success, but what the fans want and get, and what an owner wants maybe 2 different things.

9.) 11 Jun 2014
Just to add this to the debate realitycheck
a poll in Sardinia paper asked what people thought of MC 22yrs in charge.

61% was either good or excellent. Why would he be any different here.

10.) 11 Jun 2014
Its fans expectations, Cagliaris maybe different to ours, how come one group got planning permission for the refurb of the stadium, and he didnt, just an example.I sincerely hope MC produces, and shoves my post down my throat, but call me an old cynic.

11.) 11 Jun 2014
Victor Meldrew oh I mean Reality check
Didn't have to read your name at the bottom I guessed.
ANOTHER doom & gloom comment.

A.S
MC never said he would spend millions on players, this was what LUFC fans thought he would do because he had money. At Calgari he bought players for 500k developed them and sold for 8/9 million to pay the way for the club as attendences were only 5,000.
If he gets us 4 or 5 players at around 500k and they turn out to be worth 8 million then I for one would be happy.

MC NEVER said he would buy TA, his words were I will go to the bank and buy back ER but the training ground is too far away.

13.) 12 Jun 2014
I wish supporters would get away from this notion that MC has lots of money, he doesn't. His family have a tad over a billion euro, MC has a portion of that as his own. My guess would be about 10%, in much the same way as the Cellino "Family" own LUFC, but MC is only owning 10%. That would mean MC personal fortune 100million.
