Been reading the posts on buying some quality players vs the cost of overspending

However if we don't buy some quality players and aim for promotion how long to you think our young players will hang around for.

They want to play at the highest levels, so maybe Cellino should spend some money or at least what is left of the Ross McCormack £11m

I did hope that the players we have bought would improve the team and not be squad players or be out on loan as that seems a waste of an investment for this season

We need to build a club and a team that can go into the premiership and stay their, you don't do that by paying 10 mill for players on fat wages, look at QPR, did Rhodes get his team up no, Mcormack, no. Did Derby go up. no. Living in dreamland if you think spending big gets you promoted, its teamwork and a squad that's together focused, look at Leicester.

Get one bought.

Buy a keeper as well.

Defensive nightmare = people running at you with pace.

Get Irwin in the squad and get him running at people.

Give Byram a two or three year contract and Pay Byram 10% more than what he is asking for Add a early exit clause if an offer comes in from a Premiership club in excess of £12m

That way no excuses for not signing if its money. If he stays and we then sell him at least we will make good money.

Byram has hopefully silenced all of his critics today and hopefully Cellino will now realise that he is an asset worth investing in, rather than selling but I seriously doubt it.

Yet again, Wood is left in front of goal with only the goalkeeper to beat and kicks the ball straight at him - TWICE!

FFS, just put Antennucci on to start off with.

Just looking at the Bolton situation £170m in debt.

Starting to think Cellino is not such a bad thing, at least we are financially stable.

However a good test of his character will be . if he is planning on selling the club, he will sell the young players first to get some money back or make a profit

However if your reading this Mr Cellino, if you bought my beloved ground back, I for one would be chanting your name to stay as actions speak louder than words

We should be careful what we wish for

Cellino to stay or go?

Consider GFH, Bates etc who put nothing in and sold the best young players

I don't want another Bates or GFH at least with Cellino he loves the game, yes he has his issues.

The big issue for me is a manager needs time to build the team with the owner putting some money in. As an example Revie 1961 to 74 and Wilkinson 1988 to 1996

I would love to know how much Cellino has spent on the club as the only real assett that he has sold is McCormack (£11m) which we all agree was good business.

So if we got Red Bull to buy. great but we could be a lot worse off with someone like Bates who will sell the young talent for a quick profit

On the player front I still believe we need some talent, An expeienced Pro to help Cook, Mowatt etc to develop further. Someone like Gerrard would be great

Imponderable one that White. Bates took us into administration twice and had no care for the welfare of the club, just his wad. GFH only bought us so they could flip us and make a quick buck, that backfired spectacularly with all the damage being inflicted on us, they had no care for the club. Cellino I do believe cared for the club, but he is a total megolomaniac who has to have his paws on every aspect, I suspect frustration and impatience were the father of his constant bizarre behaviour. Who is to say the next in line, if there is one, will be "normal". As I said a few days ago, win our next few games and it may all go away and becalm the waters. The problem is that it is all detracting from what is important, the team and their perfomances, let's concentrate on supporting them.

You are bang on about needing experience though. It would be worth paying the extra wages to get the right man in. As much as I am not a fan of Barton he is precisely the type of player we need imo. You wouldn't see his head drop if going a goal down and he wouldn't let others do so. Unfortunately we have no chance with Gerrard. More chance of bring Strachan back.

Murphy instead of Mowatt - a little more experience, Byram further up (Botaka on bench, and use as a game changer type) and Berrardi back in as he has been good here.

Nowhere for Adeyemi though, which is a shame. Burt that's 4-4-2 for you.

Uwe not going to give up his number 1 system of 4-3-3 after a couple of average home performances (Weddies/Brent) cause it is a system he believes in and has bought in players with that in mind.

From his point of view he will say it is working OK (work in progress) as we have not lost and should have 2 wins really (bristol 99 times out of 100 would win if 2 up in last min), so he is not going 442. To me I think that is OK as long as he has plan B and or plan C, I think it is important you believe in a style/plan as the players then all understand what they are doing. If you keep changing your mind with systems then they seem to get a bit confused.

I would start with Murphy (Mowett injured anyway so what is point risking when we strong in midfield), I would rest Bryan and ask him to get himself right again for maybe 2,3 4 games on bench, may help him refocus.

In terms of squad spirit which was split last year you can't replace Berardi on footballing terms with Bryan, if you did I think it would cause trouble, Berardi there on merit and the squad needs to believe that no favs, if you play well you stay in. Redders had a problem with this last year.

In my opinion I would tell (not ask) Ant that he is starting in a front 3, explain he will get more game time and ask him to do a job for the team, for me I would play Wood/him/Dallas up front on Tuesday with cook most forward of midfield 3, Murphy in and keep Adeyemi to cover back 4 and ask both Taylor/Berardi to push on when we can.

From Sat Wood had no support really so we need to push people on another 10-15 yards up the pitch.

I think for away games you can drop Ant to the bench sometimes no probs to be more solid but he deserves to start tomorrow.

I don't mind waiting for the wiz to get up to speed either that shows a bit of management nous for me, so different to last few years.

Dropping Adeyemi is madness. The way to accommodate 442 is drop Mowatt and play Antenucci as a withdrawn striker. He does damage when you play him in the hole between midfield and striker. Bench byram when botox fully fit and you have your team. Murphy Bellusci Erwin Byram Mowatt Turnbull and Phillips waiting in wings. Not a bad bench.

think we will get er back sooner or later. don't know what is going on behind scenes but think MC is a passionate man and likes to stay true to his word. Personally I would rather spend on squad and go up and stay up and get ground back later
