As mentioned on the discussion site. Hope this make the banter.
It's reported that Farke didn't include piroe in last match day squad cause there was no Room for him. Not cause of injury. But he included Namecheck instead of piroe. Plus 3 goalies.
I'm scratching my head to remember when 3 goalies were needed in one game. Surely piroe over 3rd choice goalie.
Thoughts?

Which match are you talking about here Aus? The squad for the Wolves game shows both Piroe and Nmecha but only one reserve goalie - Meslier. The squad for the Fulham game lists Piroe as having a calf injury but includes Nmecha and again only one reserve goalie, Meslier. l.

Aussie. Need 3 goalies in the squad in case of a pre match injury to one of them.

Koch. How many times in the history of football have three gk been needed. Who are more likely injured? Gk or strikers? Generally in a game of football do strikers or gk have more one on one confrontations which could end in injury? I was wrong with my original post. Honest mistake.
Or was your post in jest. Second thinking myself now. Bugger.
Time to reveal Koch. Serious or wind up.

You don’t want to know what I think you were on to Aus. There isn’t a football team on this planet that would’ve two keepers on the bench, i wouldn't bother reading whatever it was that you were.
Obviously some obsessed anti Meslier click bait journo who hasn’t got a brain. !

Well lads, say what you will about our recruitment, but it's starting to look very astute, apart from of course a statement offensive one. But you have to say Stach, Okafor, Gudmundsson, Longstaff, JJ, DCL at least look class and we have depth now. The biggest thing for me is team spirit and complimentary players. The ethos is fantastic and we will only improve in my eyes.

Glad you're so confident. Me I'll be sweating and fretting until we're mathematically certain to finish 17th or above - hopefullu before my 78th birthday by which time we'll have just 6 games to go. 🤞.

Don’t wish to down play the start to the season but how many of the ten new signings have actually improved the first eleven, so far anyway?
Stach and Gabby definitely. The rest still have lots to prove but it’s early days and I’m confident of staying up.
5/ 2 to get relegated. Shows the bookies fancy us to stay up!
Nobody as yet apart from arsenal has outplayed us and that bodes well I think.

25 Sep 2025 19:51:25
Of course I've no idea what you meant there. 😉
I've been watching them for 69 years now, since when they were the mighty blue and whites, and have long since learned not to get too exited by one good win, knowing it could all go t#ts up the following week.

Funny berm.
I want to see the next three results before feeling comfortable. We have looked solid and as was said, only Arsenal outplayed us. Nobody else has overly bothered us. But next two will come for the win and have started season reasonably well.
There is a discussion post if anybody interesting in giving their view.

I agree Aus. Bournemouth have somewhat surprised me, iraola less so, as he is a great coach, but I didn't think the club had the clout to back him, but they've moved forward quietly. We have to be on our game defensively, but I think we can nab a win.
Spuds are still spuds; still don't know what you're going to get!

Defensively we have improved a lot and for me this has a draw written in it, but we can always hope for a sneaky win. They have better quality in their squad and are always creating chances.
Our players will be up for this game to get a result, the win and goals last week will help the confidence.

not much you can do about an injury.

Agree2 0Disagree

26 Sep 2025 00:02:26
Rest James and Bogle. Don't risk it.

JJ can help BA on the wing. It's going to be a magic combo and a Brenda redemption arc.

Agree2 0Disagree

26 Sep 2025 04:30:59
I suspect both James and Bogle will be 70 min subs. James maybe 80.

Agree0 0Disagree

26 Sep 2025 07:35:01
Definitely start Bogle, it was only a bruised foot, can always sub him later in the game if necessary.
Also need Dan James upping the anti, but agree that his inclusions should be gradual as his fitness perhaps is not quite there yet. You can’t fault Aaronson’s work rate, like Harrison but for me neither has any end product, both need to occupy the bench in my opinion.

Agree0 0Disagree

26 Sep 2025 08:04:36
I'm with Mot on this, and wouldn't personally risk either as starters. BA can run himself into the ground for an hour and give them no time to breathe, and we can give JJ a good run out. 2 great subs then to help us nick the win.

26 Sep 2025 17:04:08
Do we need James upping the anti, the ante, or the Aunty? I feel this is important.

Absolutely Corkster. DF loves sticking if it's working so I would expect the same starting 11 as in the last 2 games, even though alas again this means BA on the right.

25 Sep 2025 08:39:42
In total contrast to my posts before Darlow played, I agree 100%. Darlow deserves to hold his place, and respect to him for changing a lot of minds thro his performances!

25 Sep 2025 12:23:05
Few weeks ago I’d of found that a stupid question however darlow has made himself the number 1 and the shirt is his to lose. Fair play to darlow and king may it continue.

Agree2 0Disagree

25 Sep 2025 13:09:53
I was of the same matend Bright, but credit where its due, Darlow has stepped right up and looks better with each game. Looking at the options we have I struggle to see how Piroe gets back in, Okafor surely gets a run on tge left, right would have to be between a fit Willy or DJ and DCL looks to be our 9 all the time he stays fit. It's all good going forward and great we have JJ as cover for Boges. Gudmundsson is a real quality addition, love him and Stach too. Add to that Amps who is just class and you have to think AO has a task to get back in to!

Agree1 0Disagree

25 Sep 2025 15:25:37
Perri isn't fit, so now a moot point. Not likely to be fit until after the International break. I would have stuck with Darlow regardless.

Agree with you about Stach ed, I think he's not quite up to the intensity of the PL yet, but think he can get even better, Okafor likewise. You didn't mention Gudmundsson who looks a real quality player every time I see him, an upgrade defensively from Firpo at LB, and not bad going forwards either.

{Ed001's Note - I so like Gudmundsson. He impressed me when I watched him to do his profile.}

It was class and both old school and new prem (headers crosses and big lumps coming back into fashion)

Refreshing and great way to score goals and create easier chances.

Excellent header and should remind our fans what he is capable of instead of only focusing on his injuries etc.
The clubs medical staff believe if his training regime and game time is managed correctly, he can avoid muscle injuries. In my estimation I feel that DCL could arrive to his potential best at our club, let’s all hope he does.

24 Sep 2025 09:37:48
Superbly placed header, a great movement for it too!
And to add to OPs points, let's not forget that he turned down approaches from Man U and Newcastle, among many others, to join us, so we have a top player who also WANTS to be here!

If true it’s amazing that we had a player who presumably took less money on the hope of getting more game time. Could have easily took the more money option and sat on the bench at either of them clubs.

Great header. Heading is one of DCLs strengths. I think he is experienced enough to understand what a chance he has here to leave a legacy and be No1 striker.

24 Sep 2025 15:54:20
Great old centre forward type of headed goal. Great cross and superb header.
Football is all about confidence, especially forward players. Now DCL is off the mark, it hopefully gives him the confidence boost and belief he’s going to get another goal against Bournemouth. Football shouldn’t be complicated. In the modern game there’s not too many players that’s good in the air nowadays, so get the early crosses into the box for him, and he will cause plenty of problems for the opposition.

I really don't understand the part that all teams including ours should be out of the traps and firing on all cylinders?
Yes it might of been a Farke tactic for us to soak up the pressure in the 2nd half or it might not of been, perhaps Wolves even without three key players they sold are perhaps adjusting with their new recruits but are still not a bad side and pushed us back in the second half.
I don’t know about Wolves but with our team I definitely see improvement and that takes time.
Bar serious injuries to key players I see us keeping our head above water and the longer that continues the better for us as the momentum and belief grows with it.
I still think it will be a battle to the end but Farke in my opinion has his players grounded and focused on the most important objective this season and that is at all costs we don’t get relegated.

You could see in the move for the goal just what that wolves side could do. I don't think every team will be 100% up to speed yet new system or fitness wise or new recruits as like wolves. We are getting used to playing a different style up front. I do think wolves did allow our midfield especially stach too much room. And if they continue playing with that lack off intensity wolves will stay in the relegation zone.
But it is about us exploiting weak teams and beating all the teams around us.
We did that and on to the next.
