Now that the season is over discussions will logically focus on players we need to let go/ bring in.

But I wanted to pose a different question.

In the modern game there seems to be specialist coaches for everything, so do we need to also be looking at what we need to change in the coaching department?

To give a coupe of examples:

- We have been rubbish for ages at set pieces and I assume we have a specialist coach for that. I would see that as one essential change.

- There is much debate about Meslier. To me he seems to have gone backwards in his time with us and it also seems to me that none of our keepers progress at our club. Maybe this is another area for change.

What I don't know is if these type of roles are part of the "Farke" team and are his choices, in which case it becomes a bigger issue. Maybe someone can explain whether that is the case to me.

I think that is it is just as important to get these specialist coaching positions right as it is to get the right players.

No offence Baz but I’d rather be stood at the bar in a pub with Brighty and OP plus many others on here, than be stood there with you. You are probably a really nice guy, but OMG you are such a wind up merchant! This season has had its up’s and down’s or as according to you down’s, downs and more downs!

Messlier is no better than having a Jack Russell dog in goal and DF, well he couldn’t coach a men’s darts team! Piroe and Firpo should be gunned down by Ampadu, but the likelihood is he would miss and couldn’t even assist in reloading it! DJ should be given a knighthood.

OP and Brighty, you can’t predict anything right and that league prediction in 1874 was wrong OP and Brighty you should know by now that even though Baz was wrong he was right, end of! Baz predicted 4 defeats in Feb and in fact there were no defeats, but Baz was right because he didn’t say which year he meant!

You have more faces than Foo Man Chew, Baz and even today, the day after a bad result which we all know that Leeds didn’t turn up, you are still going on about others predictions, Baz it’s over mate, you win, you were right, you are always right and we all bow to you Sir Bazinold!

Now that I’ve said that can we now discuss Leeds United and the possible signings and selling of players, where we are likely to finish and what gives us the edge for next season, let’s all be free to predict or relay our thoughts on here without the fear of being ridiculed by the trio ‘Right Said Baz’! 🙏👍

I wish you all a Happy New Season and in ten weeks Seasons Greetings which will be a great season for Leeds United 👍👍👍👍.

{Ed033's Note - Is Foo Man Chew some type of sweet? :)

The Mystery of Dr. Fu Manchu.

Absolutely Ed lol, 😂 I actually put it like that for Baz’s entertainment, it’s a character from a spoof film I watched and he was called Doctor Fu Man Dog Chew or you could have scouser Dr Foo Manc Who! lol 😂.

Woody the comic lol. imaginative as ever.

But what's this Fu Man Chew malarkey? 😆 or as Ed033 correctly stated, 1960s films Dr Fu Manchu (played by the sophisticated uber intelligent Christopher Lee )

But to correct you Woody as usual,

ONE handsome Baz face.

More James Coburn in Our Man Flint.

or James Bond, the great George Lazenby - OHMSS.

Most sincerely Woody. ☺😉.

I think I'm glad that we lost yesterday. I remember back to last year when the 9ers took over and farke was appointed. The comments at that time were 'this is a multi-year development process'. So should be be surprised that we didn't make it to the PL, sure it hurts, but in reality I think this team was playing way above their pay grade. Either way there was always going to be a huge rebuild this summer and 160m would NOT have been enough if we did go up. Plus you look at Burnley, the saints, luton - and many more that didn't have a core set of players, all loan players so no surprises they will bounce back down. Although it hurts to say it, i'd rather spend a couple of years in the championship, and build a core of young players than keep getting beat everyweek .

So on to next year, as to the trades, we all have our opinions - but get them done quickly so that the team goes into training with a core set of players that can play together - I know we are Leeds and always have to do things the hard way, but if we can keep the core together, just like MB had next year should have a better ending -
MOT.

27 May 2024 19:47:19
Fair enough CA, and tbh, I do agree, tho whether we keep the “core” we will have to wait to see.

Agree0 0Disagree

27 May 2024 19:49:38
Deluded if you think staying in the Championship preferable. If we don't go up next season, we are likely to be stuck here for a very long time. The game's finances and opportunities are becoming squeezed making promotion that much harder for a team not receiving a parachute payment.

Only a Championship winner's medal will suffice next season. If at any juncture it looks like Farke may fail that mission, he must be sacked and someone superior installed.

Agree0 0Disagree

27 May 2024 20:05:39
Good points made CA.

Have a feeling George that unless we are very well positioned at Christmas then we will be looking for a new manager.

27 May 2024 20:38:05
Agree 100% George!

Agree0 0Disagree

27 May 2024 23:11:19
George, like everyone else staying in the championship is not what we all want and is not a financial win . we all get that. What I said or meant was one more year and then go up with a core of young players, that want to play, instead of having some 'long old in the touth' and below average PL players - that will be the recipe for 'a bounce' and will be far far worse than staying an another year .

Agree0 0Disagree

27 May 2024 23:42:21
"Core of young players"?

1. Farke has recently been emphasizing need for experience when asked what might he wish for, change going forward.

2. We are going to be selling minimum two of our excellent younger players this upcoming window.

Therefore there will be no core group of youngsters.

The pressure to win the league in 2025 will be there and sadly I agree with Cleggy unless by Christmas Farke is too or 2nd he'll be gone.

Agree0 0Disagree

28 May 2024 02:41:09
Christmas?
more like Farke will be gone mid November if Leeds United are not firmly in top 2 ( 15 Champo games a third of the season )

Slowly but surely the Champions
League is being revamped and extended - just a back door way of getting the European "super league" that the " power elite want "

Personally I can't wait for football to lose some of its popularity and money - let's get back to basics, no VAR, muddy pitches, less me me me from the players, managers not dancing around the sidelines for 90+ minutes, Leeds in white whenever possible, quit being slaves to TV timing ( which hurts us more than others) , You can disagree but sometimes a backward step is good.

Unfortunately the 1970s ain't happening agaon 1970 .

. although Sir Nostra Baz does predict football at some point in next 30 to 40 years will become for a myriad of reasons much less popular with the world masses / future younger generations.

1970 Think you'll be waiting a very long time! Suggest build time machine and go back in time to prevent Roman's acquisition in July 2003. That's where and when it all started. The Americans have a firm grip on our game now. Your dream of muddy pitches may have to wait the odd millennium or light year whichever comes first.

Baz, George - I hear what you are saying and agree that is the reality. But that is where the sadness lies, the game has become sanitized and morphed into a game played by pristine droids programmed perform on pristine pitches - get working on that t8me machine for me! Mirroring a few comments
Disappointed obviously but not surprised

Don't forget Bielsas first season
25 wins
8 draws
13 losses

83 points and lost in play offs

I think we have a better team and infrastructure now, I'm almost certain another 90 point season will see us up.

Agree2 0Disagree

27 May 2024 17:42:51
Indeed Mighty!
My own point of view is that this season was a “hope” to go up season, from a management and ownership perspective. Equally I think next year will be a “must go up” scenario, which will see us restructure as needed through sales, and suitable / essential acquisitions and loans to buy. The 49ers will not allow us to stagnate in the Champo.

The morning after the night before (well, technically it's the afternoon after the afternoon before! )

Disappointed but not overly surprised - Leeds United and the play offs is not a marriage made in heaven.

I think it was Manston who said yesterday 'get deals done soon', couldn't agree more!

Sell those out on loan as soon as we can and use the money to pay off the £70m to £100m loss (reports vary) - it won't pay it all but will help take a chunk out of it then start looking at serious bids only for our current squad. Cash in on Summerville and Gnonto, and sell Meslier for as much as we can get. Only sell Rutter if we have to (and if the bid is sufficiently high enough) but whatever we do, guard Archie for at least another 2 or 3 years (no point in him joining Liverpool or similar for £30/ 40m to warm their bench next season - it's not worth it either for him or for us) .

I'm more concerned with what we do with Farke. He hasn't done a bad job but from the position we were in, we should have got promoted. Normally I would be happy to say let him have another season however this summer there are one or two very useful people on the market.

Graham Potter and Steve Cooper spring to mind as viable options but the guy I would really like to see us go after is Cifuentes from QPR. They were a basket case when he took over yet the job he has done in turning them around and the high energy way in which they play has been hugely impressive.

I don't think for one minute the owners will get rid of Farke but if they do there are credible alternatives out there.

Just my opinion, doubtless you'll have yours - ten weeks till we start again so let the debate begin but above all, don't be too down-hearted, we are Leeds and we will be back:)

I do like the QPR shout in particular out of those mentioned, as I was very impressed by them as they dispatched us, and liked the style of play he uses.
Potter wants a bigger job, and I just don’t get Cooper personally, dunno why, tho doubtless he could do a job.

I think you typed the word most Leeds fans would be feeling now and that is Disappointed.
Although the expectation for success always rides very high at our club, it’s no more than what we have dealt with on numerous occasions.
I honestly feel Farke will have a much better grip with next season and although auto promotion is not a given, I’d be very surprised if he didn’t achieve exactly that.
There will definitely be some departures of the current squad but not as many as some might think in my opinion. Willy and Jimmy are almost certain to leave, I have the impression Rodon would love to stay at the club and help us get promoted next season, same goes for Rutter, I think he also gets the club and fans.

I am probably one of the very few that would like Mez to stay and as a goalkeeper he is still developing, I would however like to see a better veteran Gk than Darlow to push Mez on.
We should be also looking for a RB if Robert’s is not for sale, as said before, it’s difficult to equate his time with us, not seen enough of him.
As for Firpo he does tick the right boxes for Farkes style.
The midfield is somewhat ordinary, Gruev and Kamara do blow hot and cold.
Archie could very well be that attacking midfielder we’ve needed for so long, I hope Farke utilizes him in that role next season, scoring goals is a part of that, can he do that?
It’s amazing the expectation of this young 18 year old and he seems to deal with it incredibly.

Final note, get rid of every loan clause player, they don’t deserve to play at Leeds Utd.

Agree2 0Disagree

27 May 2024 17:21:58
Don't disagree with a word of that OP.

Anyone can go except for Archie is the mantra I'm clinging to this summer:)

Agree1 0Disagree

27 May 2024 17:29:30
Replacing Meslier with a reliable much better gk is absolutely imperative

An entire new defence as Rodon unlikely to be there next season

Stick Ampadu back in mf
The squad also needs 3 new mf recruits. creativity and goals

New pacy goalscoring CF preferably 2

IF a huge offer comes in for Archie Gray . accept it. to help finance a much needed huge rebuild.

Agree1 0Disagree

27 May 2024 18:02:24
Opti the midfield is Gray+Ampadou. Sorted.

Agree1 0Disagree

27 May 2024 18:40:59

That isn't a promotion midfield.

27 May 2024 18:58:09
Sell Archie Baz, are you the third anti Christ?
Why on earth would you sell the future of Leeds United. I know you’re a wind up merchant and love the attention but you do post some crap at times.

Leodis it is important that Farke does get his midfield selection right for next season. I do believe Farke sees Ampadu as a center back and tbh he does look impressive in that position for us.

Agree3 0Disagree

27 May 2024 19:14:11
Baz you just posted before to stick Ampadu back in MF? Then you say oh great Leo Ampadu and Gray a MF with zero goals and zero assists! Make your mind up mate! You’ve started already and the new season is ten weeks away! 🤷🤷.

Agree2 0Disagree

27 May 2024 19:17:26
Attention seeking Baz? Moi OP?

Nah

Seriously

Leeds need CASH, finance, dosh, spondoolies . to regenerate this team and squad .15 new players!

Along with profit sustainability issues IF a huge bid comes in for Archie Gray of £40 million plus take it.

Sentimentality OP isn't getting promotion. get in the real world 🌎 fella.

Agree0 0Disagree

27 May 2024 19:30:37

Agree2 0Disagree

27 May 2024 19:30:44

Woody and OP wake up/ keep it real hombres 👒 :

I clearly stated

"Amps is not a CD . he is a midfielder"

In midfield
"Amps AND sign 3 new midfielders creative and goal scoring midfielders " for our squad

Amps and AG as a midfield 2 isn't getting Leeds United promotion that's a given

A midfield of 3 would be in my starting 11 choice. Amps and a CAM and another progressive goal scoring midfielder.

27 May 2024 21:14:57
I did say the future of Leeds United, he’s an 18 year ol kid who is showing already amazing potential and maturity. The short terminisme is very evident in some. If you really believe Archie is not worth holding onto and believe he is talentless then there is truly no hope and only despair which is all I read from certain posters on here.
It’s quite sad really in my opinion.

Agree0 0Disagree

27 May 2024 23:28:15
OP 🤔 if I thought AG was ' talentless ' i would not have suggested a £40 million plus bid acceptance

27 May 2024 23:47:11

Agree0 0Disagree

27 May 2024 23:52:36
You keep Arch definitely and reject incoming bids (unless the bid is £95+M) . You integrate his younger brother into the squad next season too. You also hope the Hampton South fan doesn't get reelected otherwise there could be need for a munitions cabinet and assault course at Thorp Arch.

Football is measured by wins and losses. We lost.

In the end it made no difference finishing 3rd or 21st like Plymouth - both will be in Champo next season.

If some of our "over rated " players leave so be it. I said before game that Saints had Summerville number and that proved to be the case - he is a one trick pony but might learn. - if he goes to Prem he will not flourish.

Any way yet another LUFC disappointment/ failure to live with - but that will not change our hearts and aspirations for this once mighty but still great club.
