See Leeds confirmed signing of Costa this evening for 16million. Sure that will surprise concern a few, no doubting the boy is supremely talented just has to work n his consistency however, premiership may actually Be more suited to him, here’s hoping.

1.) 07 Jul 2020 21:09:50
Class He's an impact player.

2.) 08 Jul 2020 13:39:54
Its his first year as well - it took the likes of Harrison a good year to start 'getting it' in a Bielsa team.

3.) 09 Jul 2020 13:26:12
Costa not worth £16m - yet. But Jack Harrison (JH) wasnt worth 8m a year ago and now he's very good value on that - could be a bargain with more improvement.

If Costa applies himself like JH in terms of attitude and work rate i think he has a higher ceiling than JH and maybe that second season with Bielsa is what he needs. Or he could turn into a dud but i hope not.

Regarding the £16m i think its an instalments thing ('loan' intially) but think we probably paid first instalment a while back to stay right with FFP rules. Meslier, and JH to come in permanently next - Meslier is bags of potential and some great games (arsenal) but isn't quite finished article yet but 5M is a steal for him. 2 new cbs needed (if we can't get White back) . And a striker if we can get out of the Augustin farce. Eduoard would do very nicely.

Personally I want to see more of Gotts, Shackleton Mccalmont, and Davis. If we finish the job and go up either they stay and hopefully get a long run in cups (wishful thinking) or sort them a Ch loan. Shacks probably closest to fringes of first team so might stay.

4.) 09 Jul 2020 18:01:06
I’d pay 16m if that penalty he just won wins this game.

5.) 11 Jul 2020 06:18:52
Payments for players are usually amortised as opposed to paid in full.

23 Apr 2020 11:53:41
Renaming South stand after Norman well done the club 👏🏻👏🏻.

1.) 23 Apr 2020 13:15:11
Great tribute. 👏👏👏.

2.) 23 Apr 2020 14:47:03
excellent gesture.

15 Feb 2020 16:56:17
Kalvin Phillips I have no words 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Cannot believe a premier team haven’t signed him so glad they didn’t.

1.) 15 Feb 2020 17:26:35
Brilliant last 2 games. Rest did him good!

2.) 15 Feb 2020 17:57:19
They tried and we said no.

08 Aug 2019 09:21:28
David Ornstein just posted at Eddie on his way to Leeds for a medical, excellent signing, boys a natural goal scorer I believe it’s going to happen MOT.

14 Jun 2019 21:46:24
Speaking with a guy who’s son is in the Brighton academy same class as BennWhite said he is an exceptional prospect in the John Stones mould (Mmmm)

Having said that no Brighton fan was a fan of Tommy Elphick, huge glee when they got the money they did for him (Brighton awash with centre halves) I actually played against Tommy Elphick and Lewis Dunks father in my semi pro days (animals both of em) that being said the guy said Nathan Jones (Brighton coach) then Luton now Stoke Manager said Ben White was best prospect at entire club, so be glad to get him if it comes off MOT.

1.) 15 Jun 2019 06:24:10
Useful info Class, thanks.

2.) 16 Jun 2019 17:02:27
My friend played with Ben White when he was on loan at Newport County and I know it was league 2 but he said he was class and really good on the ball but he is quite slight.

So sad to hear about Jack a legend among legends, what you saw is what you got with Jack and yet he was also such a kind considerate man, player, manager, thank you Jack for being one of our best ever players and for epitomising what Leeds means to all of us, must honour these legends with promotion now, get promotion done.

09 Jul 2020 23:36:42
Brilliant brilliant brilliant, into the Swans next, hope Dan James doesn’t come back to hurt us (see what I did there Hess)

Everyone played brilliantly and perfect timing to give Costa his signing on fee as his confidence is going to be sky high going to the next few games #getpromotiondone.

1.) 10 Jul 2020 09:28:24
A win at Swansea would be great but at least a point is needed and would not be the end of the world. Swansea will attack and not just sit back, these type of games play to our strengths.

2.) 10 Jul 2020 09:56:38
If I remember rightly there have been occasions where a permanent signing has been followed by a drop in effort.

05 Jul 2020 12:11:26
I think we can find untold horrors in every one of our remaining fixtures, however, and yet I’m still totally chilled and convinced WTF is happening to me.

Although there are some additional benefits of late, in the main teams will have to come out and go for a win, Stoke cannot be sure, if draws will keep them up, both Swansea and Derby Will most likely need all three points for playoff positions and Barnsley and Charlton will definitely need three to avoid the drop.

Whilst that makes them desperate for the win they’re also in the same boat as us in feeling intense pressure for the points so rather them than a middle of the table club like Reading playing us without any pressure whatsoever.

Other plus for me was, I thought we named a more reliable to perform team yesterday and Douglas and Alioski both played ok, which means we don’t have to rely on our more flair but equally inconsistent players.

That being said, Costa who falls firmly in that category made Bam bam goal against Fulham and was involved in Dallas equaliser against Luton.

Probably why Bubs the coach and I’m an armchair know all, were going to do this boys we really are 👍#get promotion done.

1.) 05 Jul 2020 14:30:56
Yes Douglas and Alioski played quite well yesterday. Douglas took some decent corners as well . much better corners yesterday by Leeds than previous games.

As for the Stoke game, I hope Pablo starts we really need his invention at home in creating chances and getting that all important first goal of the match.

2.) 05 Jul 2020 14:51:30
Zooks Can see Pablo starting against Stoke instead of Tyler the Creator. He took a bit of a knock.

3.) 05 Jul 2020 19:39:10
George I do hope your right, we need him to set the game up, as with him we don’t seem to get it on if you know what I mean.

4.) 05 Jul 2020 19:39:21
Was it a bad knock Georgy? We need as many fit as possible even with Bielsa never making too changes.

5.) 06 Jul 2020 00:28:00
Whitey We don't seem to be playing much above 2nd gear right now. Understandable in the heat.

Corky Looked a heavy knock, rather than a bad one. I expect him to miss Stoke given his injury sensitivity or maybe he'll take a place on the bench.

03 Jul 2020 20:22:45

The EFL take the biscuit when you look how they hounded Massimo on not being a fit and proper person and all for an alleged unpaid Italian tax bill and then systematically targeted him to force him into astronomical paying out on legal bills and what did he do?

Love him or hate him he saved Leeds United and yet WIGAN!

They allow a subsidiary of a subsidiary take over the club and one week later they’re put into administration.

Maybe Massimo got the hard time because Of Shaun Harvey, but really how can this be allowed to happen how can it even be possible?

1.) 03 Jul 2020 20:54:11
Class Massimo was targeted because he was thoroughly disliked as a person. Consequently, you are probably right - they socked it to him 😂😄.

2.) 03 Jul 2020 21:10:50
Class the EFL under Harvey and anyone else for that matter have never been fit for purpose .

. along with the fiasco you just detailed

There is also the issue of Derby County and Sheff Wednesday being charged by the EFL over half a year ago with an FFP related charges which potentially could mean large points deductions yet still neither club hsve even not had the charges hearing let alone a decision with this season about to conclude in 3 weeks time.

3.) 03 Jul 2020 21:40:17
The great Massimo a truly wonderful man who deserves to be in the hearts of all Leeds fans. Eradicating the scourge of GHF from our lives.

4.) 04 Jul 2020 10:31:21
Harvey's hatred of all things Leeds knew no bounds, he was determined to put the boot in to LUFC at every opportunity. Regarding GHF, remember Bates saying he would only sell the Club to worthy owners, and we got that bunch of crooks. Anyway let's hope the team do us proud today, UTW.

5.) 04 Jul 2020 20:45:28
Great post Class! What has happened at Wigan is an utter disgrace, and the EFL should be cleaned out, and restarted. Incompetent buffoons.

27 Jun 2020 20:06:20
We’ve all been quick enough to criticise him at times today but my MOM goes to Bielsa he won that game with his substitutions and tactical changes.

Ben White immense also, hope Pablo coming off was just risk avoidance but huge result for the boys today.

1.) 27 Jun 2020 21:07:12
I thought Cooper and White did a great job on moaning Mitrovic.

2.) 28 Jun 2020 00:41:31
& Bill.

3.) 28 Jun 2020 09:44:28
Your right Woody. Bill was back today, and solid defensively. Though Kal did a great job keeping Cairney in his back pocket too! I want to see Poveda get more minutes, as he shows some glimpses of talent in the few mins he gets, and looks to have pace to burn!

4.) 28 Jun 2020 09:45:17
I like Meslier, he had a much better game this week than Cardiff. I think keepers these days regarding pushing shots down and out (think you're referring to that Mitrovic snap volley, and there was a corner he punched down too) . The way the balls move in the air these days makes it so much harder than say the 90s early 2000s. The replay showed just how much it moved so it was a good save for me.

That being said I think there is a nerves aspect in him at the moment, little slow on that first cardiff goal last week, and parried out a shot clearly going wide this week too. Easy to forget how young he is. Not a Prem no.1 (yet) but 5m clause for him is no brainer because he easily could be both Prem and France international in a few years i think.

Brilliantly summed up Phil, spilt milk. Personally feel very sorry for young James, but pretty sure he will still enjoy a fantastic career and let’s hope it’s with us in the premiership.

What a balls up, count himself very lucky he wasn’t wearing binoculars at the time! Still think Harvey will go on him though.

Think I’d prefer a Fulham win DSW, yes it may give them added impetus for the automatic spots but it also creates a little gap to us with only a couple for them to play.

Now for the Brentford vs Preston game, obviously I’d love a Preston win, but I can see Preston getting a point here, given it’s almost pooh or bust for them with regards the playoffs.

Great shout Leo he scores goals too regularly wherever he’s played, and we definitely could do with more goals throughout the team.

Need Mad Mick back now, unless of course he has formed a new 'bubble' with his Sister-in-law.

Welcome back George I asked the lovely Angus Kinnear to reach out to you, see how you were, I take it he sent some flowers and encouragement as is his want 😂.

Not certain Alf read Phil Hay said there was communications with Everton but never came to anything so they had Leeds vs Leeds game at Thorp Arch instead.

Not sure it makes much difference to be fair given the intensity in which Bub trains them they’ll be ready 👍.
