Reported 60 mill release clause for Phillips next contract. Tad low.
I know clubs bidding could push that up but think should have realistically been set at 80 mill.

1.) 24 Sep 2021 13:01:33
If Grealish is a 100 mil player and didn’t play as much Euro, KP who was one of the most important players to this side can’t be a 60 mil player.
Maybe the release clause is switched on if we go down or something… Clearly it’s better to have higher buy out clause (80 is more like it) and a gentleman agreement that if a good offer comes we going to let you go for say 70 or even lower if you would be really keen on the move.

30 Aug 2021 23:36:23
30 mill? Surely not.
We getting pig a too?

1.) 30 Aug 2021 23:55:41
No just an expensive donkey 🐴.

2.) 31 Aug 2021 03:54:55
Pogba that is not pig.
I make no further comment though.

22 Jul 2021 05:52:30
In a tussle with Newcastle for Cajuste.
How's that work?
Leeds or Newcastle?
Work with the Steve Bruce and most likely get relegated
Bielsa at Leeds and most likely be top half and pushing for euro?
Phone a friend?

1.) 22 Jul 2021 06:52:51
Can come down to wages, playing time, attitude etc.

Apparently Newcastle have backed out as £13m price tag is too much.

Wolves also interested.

2.) 22 Jul 2021 11:53:37
Looks like the Toon are preparing for relegation at the moment - no incomings yet. Meanwhile, Brentford have started making solid additions and while the Canaries have lost Buendia, they stung Villa for £33m+ and brought in a decent replacement in Milot Rashica from Werder Bremen for less than half that amount and have bolstered their midfield with Billy Gilmour on loan and Pierre Lees-Melou a decent CM from Nice.

Even Watford have been busy with incomings, albeit seemingly more focused on quantity than quality, including the cast-off forward from Club Brugge, who has apparently been dining out on his brace against Barcelona a couple of seasons ago and needs to sort his head out. Even Brentford, with their focus on underperforming assets, didn’t seem to sniff a bargain in him (would of course be just typical if Emmanuel Dennis tore our defence a new one when we come up against them) . Their additions also include the wonderfully named Imran Louza - a versatile CM/ CAM/ CDM from Nantes - it’s to be hoped for him and them that his form belies his name.

3.) 22 Jul 2021 14:08:43
Buendia is a class act though. We should have snapped him up last year.

4.) 22 Jul 2021 14:36:57
Clueless why do you keep insisting Villa have been stung in the purchase of Buendia.
I think we should wait and see before we start to make any rash assumptions.
We have be talking about him for the best part of 2 years on our forum, so he is a wanted addition.
CW is spot calling him a class act, I personally think the same, I have seen him play maybe a dozen times, all excellent, with possibly 2 average performances.
Price is what you pay, quality is what you get, and that was his price.

5.) 23 Jul 2021 07:49:53
Not in for Cajuste. Let Villa take the mediocre players.

6.) 23 Jul 2021 14:10:12
And who would that be then Mr Whitbread, I wait in anticipation.

13 Jul 2021 11:28:48
30 mill for cuhna they reckon. Think it's scared Orta off.

1.) 13 Jul 2021 22:24:16
Yes I think that will be too much.

29 Apr 2021 10:37:58
If we are as reported going to spend $100 mill again
Add Rodrigo $20 mill. Roberts prob $8 mill. May as well sell gerhadt too if not going to try him $5m. Maybe off load costa too. There's another $35 mill. So my thoughts are. Enough there for dw paul Maxim. A good striker and left back.

1.) 29 Apr 2021 18:33:52
I hope you’re joking Aus.

2.) 30 Apr 2021 19:54:18
Aus Aus$ or US$? Try sticking to the correct currency. We play in England 🇫🇴.

3.) 30 Apr 2021 21:05:48

19 Oct 2021 09:21:15
Not that we could afford his wages and he would want euro football. But $65 mill for Stirling is quite reasonable. He is better than Sancho and if we were to lose raph we would need someone of that quality.

1.) 19 Oct 2021 10:27:45
Yeah I thought that recently. Maybe as a swap deal for Raph who will probably be off soon anyway. However, I can't see Stirling wanting to go to a club in a relegation scrap.

2.) 19 Oct 2021 11:39:45
Even if we could afford Sterling’s reported wages of around £300,000 a week, his work out of possession probably wouldn’t be up to scratch for Bielsa. And even in a scenario of Bielsa leaving, most fans would probably want to see our squad’s usual good work rate (not the insipid performance of Saturday) maintained - a high earner not putting in a shift wouldn’t be helpful to the squad dynamics.

3.) 19 Oct 2021 14:35:43
Funny how as Newcastle come into billions, Sterling might want to leave 💲💲💲💲💲💲💲💲💲💲💲💲💲💲.

4.) 19 Oct 2021 15:23:20
Richie ££ more appropriate. His name is Sterling after all.

5.) 19 Oct 2021 23:07:33
Actually, according to some reports, Sterling seems to prefer the idea of €€€€€€€€€€€€€€€ - possibly in Spain.

6.) 20 Oct 2021 07:43:20
Mega bucks at Barca. though how Barcelona can afford even a bog roll these days, I just don’t know!?

17 Oct 2021 13:46:17
We obviously miss raph and Phil.
But maybe ayling and Bamford too.
Maybe it's all their characters as well as ability that we miss.
4 out of 11 is a big chunk.

1.) 17 Oct 2021 14:24:35
Alioski and Pablo too ( even Berra perhaps for team spirit )

2.) 17 Oct 2021 16:10:40
Bring Back Pablo, bring back Pablo.

3.) 17 Oct 2021 16:21:22
Who would you prefer coming on from tbe bench MG? Pablo or Roberts? Even at 36, Pablo is 4 times better than Roberts.

4.) 17 Oct 2021 20:33:46
Baz - Pablo wanted to be in Spain to be with his family, and to help galvanise his beloved Castellon, who had just been relegated to the Spanish third division, and could have been in danger of dropping further.

As for Alioski, apparently we would have had to increase his wage by around two thirds in order to compete with what Al-Ahli offered, and that club apparently also offered a rather nice signing fee on top. Also funny how so many often slated him while he was here, but now he’s gone, suddenly he’s one of the players we miss most. Perhaps that should give some on here pause for thought.

As I’ve said before, I feel it probably would be best if Roberts were to go on loan in January, and I’d welcome Bogusz back from UD Ibiza. He couldn’t stop them going down at home to Mirandes today, despite Ibiza having 60% possession and well over twice as many shots. Mirandes were more clinical in front of goal, probably helped by having two forwards on loan from Athletico Madrid and another from Athletic Bilbao. However, Bogusz did score one and assist two for Poland U21s last week. The lad’s obviously playing with confidence, which is unfortunately more than can be said of Tyro.

5.) 17 Oct 2021 20:59:47
Clu we have had this conversation before about Pablo and Bielsa

As for Alioski ; plenty of positive posts on him from me on here (as with Pablo) . I loved the fella.

6.) 17 Oct 2021 21:38:45
Yes, Baz, I know, you hardly ever stop talking about Pablo, give it a rest. He’s probably far happier where he is, and had Tyro stepped up as Bielsa obviously hoped he would, we’d have been happy too.

You may well have been positive about Alioski, but you’ll surely admit that some on here we’re far from complimentary about our (North) Macedonian friend.

On the wider point, we’ve been particularly unlucky that a spate of injuries has coincided with other problems such as Harrison getting c.v., which has evidently affected his match fitness and some personal issue for Dallas which has clearly caused a huge drop off in his performance. It is particularly grating seeing some on social media slating Dallas given he was player of the season last time out - he wouldn’t go from that to supposed absolute zero without some external reason, for which he deserves support not brickbats. Add to those factors the ridiculous Brazilian fixture cock-up which ruled out Raphinha. And with all our international call ups, including u20/ 21s Bielsa only had the game day squad together from Wednesday and lost Firpo at some point on Thursday - so it’s perhaps there are some mitigating circumstances for yesterday’s underwhelming performance.

With Raphinha, and hopefully KP back, and a whole week to prepare, we should see a far better performance on Saturday. Bielsa was clearly pretty pissed off after the match, possibly partly with himself, so will obviously looking to stimulate a strong reaction in the squad.

7.) 17 Oct 2021 22:34:46
Good post Clu.

8.) 18 Oct 2021 16:58:27
Miss Gianni hugely, and I think the impact that the loss of BamFord should not be underestimated. He is a massive player for us, whether he scores, or not, and at £10m, looks a right bargain! We need the BamBam back, for the good of the rest of the team!

17 Oct 2021 01:24:48
Chalk and cheese last night.
From the brilliance silky talented Liverpool who pass to their own players
To the shockingly rubbish untalented championship worthy leeds.
Worst I've seen. Clueless biesla with team selection and subs, poor passing, untalented team and bench. On that showing we are down.
Should have bought in summer. It will cost us.
Size of the squad and team should be owners decision not manager.
When we go down he will retire leaving the owners up rubbish creek without a paddle.

16 Oct 2021 12:40:33
Liverpool. What a goal. What a pass. Wow.
Buy that geezer lol.

1.) 16 Oct 2021 12:50:11
Having said that.
This is the worst case of park the bus damage limitation I have ever seen. Obscene. Shameful.

2.) 16 Oct 2021 13:42:32
That 4th goal frightening. Unbelievable.

15 Oct 2021 02:55:06
Omg. We have unleashed the beast.
Wow. We should start encouraging players to sign for leeds and have the opportunity to play with raphy.
Go son. Show the world.

1.) 15 Oct 2021 05:33:56
To be honest Aus, for me, Raphinha’s best moment in the match came in the 71st minute, when he came off the pitch injury free. Though, to be fair, the two goals must have been pretty special moments for the lad.

2.) 15 Oct 2021 06:57:44
Agree clu.
I was hoping he come off at half time or 60 min.
Glad it all went well for him though.
Will give him a lift.

3.) 15 Oct 2021 09:11:41
And Liverpool allegedly after him in january or next season. Yes I can see him leaving for a champions league club, but not until next season and definitely not on the cheap. If Grealish was worth 100 million then Raphina must be worth at least that. I really hope we hold out for that type of money, as I believe this will be his last season playing for us, sadly.

4.) 15 Oct 2021 11:01:23
Just been on treadmill and thinking.
I really hope they hold out for good money for any of our players regardless of when they sell.
We prem now. No cheap giveaways.
Would expect min $80 mill
For raphy
straight swap with salah or foden.
I’d take maxim or sterling with $25 mill.

5.) 15 Oct 2021 11:56:43
Well if Raph can really turn it on for Leeds and as a team we start to get a good winning trend going on. We could still end up having a sensational season and Raph might want to stay for more glory with Leeds United.

6.) 15 Oct 2021 14:21:58
Can't see us holding on to Raphina past this season, but would love it if we could. Personally I can't see us finishing better placed than last season and think Raphina will want European football ideally with a champions league club. His agent is already sounding off about him moving on, so it will happen I guess. As some previous posts have said, we need to hold out for the top end of the transfer value rather than taking less . We need to learn from Brighton how they refused to sell White until their valuation was met.

7.) 15 Oct 2021 15:26:17
Agree mez. 100.

8.) 15 Oct 2021 22:48:15
I wouldn’t be so sure that Raph will move on the end of this season. He has already been installed as a Brazilian national player and Tite has thanked Bielsa for his very good work in coaching Raph, but had stated that he is still very young and has a lot to learn to be a regular of the national squad.
So no problem playing for Brazil whilst being at Leeds and coached by El magico whilst improving as a footballer with him. I don’t see why that shouldn’t continue for another season.

9.) 15 Oct 2021 23:26:52
Is 'on treadmill' a code for 'on drugs'?

I think it will have to depend on the position we are in and the form we show during dec and January. If we are in the bottom 5 I would think it will be a necessity to buy or loan at least
A striker
A midfielder.

What is working? Tj?
Leodis picks maybe 11 from 15 regulars.
With ayling phill raph bam and firpo. There etc etc are our best 11. Personally struik. Koch. Rods. Roberts are a Waste of bench or 1st team.
Let’s move on. Tried it or them. Didn’t work most of the time. Give and go.
