Michael Cuisance rumours still here.
Report saying we have agreed a 20 million euro deal and personal terms.
Would be a great addition at 21 with champions league winning experience.

Sounding like De Paul deal close to being done, great news.
I hope he's up to speed for a tough game against the blunts.

CanadaWhite

1.) 20 Sep 2020 23:43:50
They said that 3 weeks ago.

2.) 21 Sep 2020 09:20:56
Not going to happen then!

3.) 21 Sep 2020 10:41:53
Leedslive saying fee now agreed with Udinese. Who knows!

4.) 21 Sep 2020 13:07:32
Udinese supposedly softened their stance on the fee.

10 Sep 2020 23:49:17
Doesnt mean anything I guess but no Draxler in PSG squad tonight.
Would be awesome but can't see this one happening.

CanadaWhite

1.) 12 Sep 2020 04:12:14
Draxlers attitude to his current situation reminds me of Bale a little, not going to start but not forcing a move away. Suggests he is more bothered about his pay packet than playing matches, not an attitude that will fly under Bielsa. I think we will push De Paul or look at someone new if that's gone cold.

{Ed0666's Note - Paris or Leeds Paris or Leeds?

2.) 12 Sep 2020 12:19:04
Well the nicest city is Leeds. Draxler has obviously never visited.

10 Aug 2020 20:52:16
Geldhart finally signs.
Pretty pleased with this one, was impressed with him this season and think once he gets Bielsa fit he could become a decent player for us.

CanadaWhite

1.) 10 Aug 2020 21:13:01
Agreed and good to get him in for pre season training. Until anyone else arrives he has a real opportunity to impress, hope he takes it.

2.) 10 Aug 2020 22:11:04
Not sure he will be a first team we this season but good to see us snapping up a promising player. Makes a change from when it was always us on the end of such transfers.

3.) 10 Aug 2020 23:07:56
Aiming high as usual.

4.) 11 Aug 2020 07:50:13
I think this lad is a bit different than some of the youngsters we’ve brought in before. He was being talked about in the 5 million class before their financial troubles. It’s not about age with these kids it’s about how good they really are, if they have the potential to do really really well then they can do start to do it at a young age. Ditto Charlie Allen from Linfield only 16. If we can start to see some home nurtured strikers coming through it will be great.

It was interesting during the lockdown when there was no under 23 football, the focus of the under 23s was only on supporting the first team with training, squad and bench if required. That period brought Shackleton, Poveda and Struick back firmly into the reckoning. If you read Bamford on Struick, during lockdown Struick was tried as defensive midfield during murder ball and absolutely nailed it. After that the thought of using him and not White grew.

With a premier league 2 programme that level of youth involvement in the first team is harder, but I’m sure that the kids Bielsa really rates and would call on if needed will be the ones filling out the squad numbers, helping out in training sessions and balancing those duties with the under 23s. In that respect who gets the link job between under 23s and first team is important.

5.) 11 Aug 2020 09:41:49
Top post Spaniard. Glad you’re back full time pal!

6.) 11 Aug 2020 12:37:53
What Spanish said

We’ve a coach and staff committed to identifying and developing our own players to play in our own style

Players develop differently and at different rates so it’s a numbers game and not all make it to the first team

Those that don’t will still be very good players and will generate income when sold

This is a “ go to “ club again

No more journeymen winding down careers.

7.) 11 Aug 2020 14:06:03
Agree Woody and being very professional about how we are bringing people in and signing new contracts for those we want to keep. We are still not getting all the new signings right but then not sure anyone does that all the time. Look at Chelsea and the worlds most expensive goalie and now tipped to buy a goalie!

8.) 11 Aug 2020 14:16:31
Bogusz signs 3 year deal

Looks like we are progressing nicely.

05 Oct 2019 22:50:45
What is Bielsa talking about when he mentions the 3 big parts of the game? Something about Harrison.

CanadaWhite

{Ed033's Note - Meat and potatoes?

1.) 06 Oct 2019 10:53:55
Canada Venture it's possession, creating chances and sticking them away. Personally, I think he's lost the plot, anxiety has crept in and he's a ripe candidate to enter Martyn's Bexley wing once the Big Fella returns from Lanzagrotty with new Spanish girlfriend in tow.

2.) 06 Oct 2019 11:50:35
Doesn't seem to fit with him talking about red card and penalty. I was assuming it was some refereeing error or something controversial.
I think he's been a breath of fresh air to Leeds but my lord he can't seem to see the wood for the trees can he!
For such a studier of the game I'm shocked he can't understand our repeated failures. Maybe he should watch all of our games from last year again and then it may sink in.

3.) 06 Oct 2019 16:04:51
He turned down a blatant penalty when Harrison had his ankles swept away for him, and waved it away. Just another shocking decision.
So, the 3 big parts were their penalty, Berra’s Red, and the refusal to award our penalty. That’s my take on it anyway.

4.) 06 Oct 2019 17:19:53
Sounds about right.
Really sick of being screwed by refs.
We are more than capable of messing it up on our own!

5.) 07 Oct 2019 06:25:16
No one wants us out of this league we generate too much revenue for the greedy corrupt fatherless children.

6.) 07 Oct 2019 17:09:19
I don't think Bielsa has lost the plot at all. He is a genius and getting 50% more out of the current squad than any other manager would be able to. Problem is most of our players are not up to it.

7.) 09 Oct 2019 16:01:14

So i'll go for 26 mins before we sub Llorente.
Who's going higher, who's going lower?
Wonder if he will play DM today?

CanadaWhite

{Ed077's Note - Higher. Maybe 28 lol

1.) 23 Feb 2021 17:19:21
16 minutes for me please
Then it 4 the season
😂😂.

2.) 23 Feb 2021 17:21:12
Can they not just sub Tyler Roberts before anyone kicks a ball? He's useless and brings nothing to the team. (Watch him score just to prove me wrong, but I doubt it) .

I'm really hoping Llorente gets a decent match under his belt. I feel really sorry for him.

21 Feb 2021 20:35:10
When will we get penalties for what year man utd get them for?
In a fair world, Rushford will get a 6 game ban. 3 for successful deception of a referee and 3 for successful deception of VAR.
Blatant cheat, less contact from a fly landing on you.

CanadaWhite

1.) 21 Feb 2021 21:29:08
Agree with George's posts the other day on VAR in which he seemed to be alluding to dark forces within the ( corrupt ) world of tbe football.

As the FA and EPL are as ever very, very weak with Penchester United and certain other teams cheating diving for penalties etc ; these offences are still only very rarely being punished by the refs during tbe game and likewise even more very rarely retrospectively punished by the authorities after the game.

Added to the ever ongoing controversies of the offside rule and handball rule, the increasing poor decision making/ possible bias of the VAR officials and other officials and all in all the integrity of the EPL competition is being severely eroded.

2.) 21 Feb 2021 21:45:21
This is what I have been saying for a while. VAR just allows said dark forces more control. Sadly power corrupts and that power is now with those who are already corrupt.

{Ed001's Note - Arsene Wenger is right, take it out of the hands of the referees and have specifically trained VAR operators to run it.} Become a Patron!

3.) 21 Feb 2021 22:14:40
Won't make any difference Ed - as long as whoever makes the VAR decisions are corrupt it will be used to serve the outcomes that they want and not the good of the game. Its sadly a tool for bending tge game to the PL's wishes and not a tool to make the game fairer.

4.) 21 Feb 2021 23:16:53
It's a good idea Ed. I thought our Bamford goal on Friday was onside.

5.) 22 Feb 2021 00:53:13
Ed001 Wenger only half right. Take out of referee hands yes but giving it to specially trained VAR people will only produce similar consequences imo. Their trainers and themselves not beyond temptation so it has to go to someone else or more precisely a new system or systems ought to come in whereby the decisions are numerically and graphically proven in real time. To compliment the video side of things, a combination of photo finish technology used in Athletics and Hawkeye used in cricket should be introduced. The movement of players can be referenced to time and the split second. Then the decisions can't be bent. This is George free recommendation to the authorities and ought to be the subject of an online petition in order to create legitimate pressure.

{Ed001's Note - Wenger wants to control the VAR rather than PGMOL.}

6.) 22 Feb 2021 15:40:04
Na he wouldn't see it.

14 Feb 2021 18:33:53
Thought ref was as poor as our defending today.
Arsenal dive a lot and he gave them all.
How does Baka not get a card for diving after VAR incident?
He paid Bamford back for vile incident after he gets smacked by two players.
Still very poor first 50 for sure
Thought Huggins did well.

CanadaWhite

1.) 14 Feb 2021 22:46:53
It doesn’t have to be a card or a penalty. He went down far too easy as replays shown so it was overturned. He did not dive though did he? Alisoki’s time at our club is coming to an end and I believe he knows he isn’t good enough to nail down that left back spot. Like some1 said above shame bielsa changed positions on a few players instead of just the one. Ayling for me personally offers so much more at right back than anyone else in our team and links well with raphinha. Moving him to centre back is a waste when you have 2 centre backs on the pitch. Bielsa is god in my eyes and can’t do much wrong and of course with Hindsight is easy to say but we never looked like we was going to beat them from the 1st minute and he should of switched things early. He already had all the necessary players on the pitch to do so.

03 Feb 2021 20:32:23
Diving every time Harrison goes near anyone. Needs to be replaced by Pablo or he will see red.

CanadaWhite

1.) 03 Feb 2021 21:28:11
As VillaDave said every club has one and we are no different, very predictable results as well .

2.) 03 Feb 2021 21:43:55
I said it but it wasn't Harrison I had in mind.

3.) 03 Feb 2021 21:54:47
Dont understand Leo, Kim saying they were diving trying to get Harrison sent off.

4.) 03 Feb 2021 22:14:36
Duh! sorry Cana my mistake.

5.) 03 Feb 2021 22:17:44
No worries Leo, probably my accent haha.

26 Jan 2021 21:24:13
So how many games will Rodrigo be banned for.
Spitting at any time is bad but during c.v.
I didn't see any spit but the motion and mouth movement will no doubt lead to a big issue for us.

CanadaWhite

1.) 26 Jan 2021 23:15:02
None seen as shar has said Rodrigo did not spit at him. Just the journo’s trying to cause rubbish as usual.

2.) 26 Jan 2021 23:54:23
Schar has since confirmed that Rodrigo did NOT spit at him so hopefully that will be the end of it.

Great battling display from everyone tonight special mention for Struick who I thought looked our best CB tonight Rodrigo (although still struggling with stamina) showed some class snd of course Rafhina what a buy he has proved to be.

3.) 27 Jan 2021 07:39:22
Good on Schar for his honesty. Many players would try and get another in trouble in this kind of situation regardless of what did or did not happen.

4.) 27 Jan 2021 08:35:02
Class, agree re Struick. Not been easy for him, gone from under 23s to premiership in a few months and in and out of the team and different positions. Yesterday must have been preparing for some bench warming time and on he goes again after 9 mins. Not ideal but with Llorente looking to be out for a few games again could be that a run of games at CB will help him grow more confident. He has the height and build to be a real asset in both boxes.

5.) 27 Jan 2021 10:42:53
Good to hear, was worried about that as it looked dubious.

Hope things are OK whack.
If Jerk Squeamish is recovering from injury and isn't 100% that pitch isn't one to take a risk on IMO.
That being said he's used to falling over for no reason anyway so probably will spend the same amount of time on the deck as any other game.

As I said before I think its our formation.
Without the ball we are supposed to be 4-1-4-1 and with the ball it becomes more like 2-1-4-3.
This makes it tough for us when we lose possession.
Forcing one of the wing back to stay back or changing to 4-2-3-1 (so 2-2-3-3 with the ball) would make a huge difference.
The change would weaken us offensively of course so we need to recruit there to offset eg DePaul.

Our defense is not the issue in terms of player ability, our system is.
We are regularly left with 3 defenders (KP plus two central defenders) as rest of team is so high up the field.
We put more stress on defensive players as a result.
Bielsa does need to play less aggressively if he wants us to concede less. That will mean we are less offensively effective which the best way to counter is to get better offensive players (let's hope! )
