What is Bielsa talking about when he mentions the 3 big parts of the game? Something about Harrison.

{Ed033's Note - Meat and potatoes?

1.) 06 Oct 2019 10:53:55
Canada Venture it's possession, creating chances and sticking them away. Personally, I think he's lost the plot, anxiety has crept in and he's a ripe candidate to enter Martyn's Bexley wing once the Big Fella returns from Lanzagrotty with new Spanish girlfriend in tow.

2.) 06 Oct 2019 11:50:35
Doesn't seem to fit with him talking about red card and penalty. I was assuming it was some refereeing error or something controversial.
I think he's been a breath of fresh air to Leeds but my lord he can't seem to see the wood for the trees can he!
For such a studier of the game I'm shocked he can't understand our repeated failures. Maybe he should watch all of our games from last year again and then it may sink in.

3.) 06 Oct 2019 16:04:51
He turned down a blatant penalty when Harrison had his ankles swept away for him, and waved it away. Just another shocking decision.
So, the 3 big parts were their penalty, Berra’s Red, and the refusal to award our penalty. That’s my take on it anyway.

4.) 06 Oct 2019 17:19:53
Sounds about right.
Really sick of being screwed by refs.
We are more than capable of messing it up on our own!

5.) 07 Oct 2019 06:25:16
No one wants us out of this league we generate too much revenue for the greedy corrupt fatherless children.

6.) 07 Oct 2019 17:09:19
I don't think Bielsa has lost the plot at all. He is a genius and getting 50% more out of the current squad than any other manager would be able to. Problem is most of our players are not up to it.

7.) 09 Oct 2019 16:01:14
You legend alftupper! Post of the month!

12 Jul 2017 01:03:47
Have I missed something? Saiz flew in yesterday and was having a medical this morning and no announcement on him signing. Ekuban can fly in, have a medical and sign in a matter of hours. Is Saiz signed up or is there a delay due to a medical issue?

1.) 12 Jul 2017 07:51:06
If alioski signs, surely the 1.6 we spent on sacko would have been better spent elsewhere (towards a cb ? ) . Which players are going to be surplus now, will Dallas, o Kane
Bridcutt, Phillips all still be in the new managers plans, I presume viera will be and the new pole. if siaz signs and Proves to be a success then Pablo could be a great sub to have at times for last 20 in games. anyone actually seen this alioski play (other than u tube clips? )

2.) 12 Jul 2017 09:51:26
I guess these players won't be surplus but having competition for places should certainly make last years players up their game. Which is surely a good thing right?

3.) 12 Jul 2017 10:53:03
Ongoing complications with Athletico rights I'd assume. Saiz isn't being signed from one club, he's being signed from two.

4.) 12 Jul 2017 12:19:40
Can't be that as the deal is done subject to a medical. Hopefully it all goes through as we need the creativity this guy can bring.

5.) 12 Jul 2017 12:45:41
Terms agreed subject to medical but you still have to get all three sets of lawyers to sign paperwork and money to move around.

6.) 12 Jul 2017 13:00:39
I heard he started his medical yesterday evening, probably to be completed this morning. Expect an announcement later today, at a guess.

7.) 12 Jul 2017 13:15:17
Good news Bright. Hope this one goes through.

8.) 13 Jul 2017 14:15:45
Radz has signed the targets so far that we have been trying to get. Gone about it with a patient methodical approach. Time for the doubters to start believing that we are trying to build a good solid squad that will be capable of challenging for promotion. Still think there will be more to come. Reply optimistic for the coming season. MOT.

We need to start talking about
next season starung with the current seasons ppg tally.
Being realistic the more league's that cancel with no promotion/ relegation to more likely it is that it will happen to us as well.
In fairness merging two seasons into 1 is fairer as we are not disadvantaged from this whole Covid thing. It may save a lot of legal disputes.

1.) 29 Apr 2020 17:34:32
This season has to finish, shouldn't even be talkin about next season as no one knows wats round the corner, no matter how long it takes then stop and look at situation again
Makes me fume to hear ex Villa players saying null and void with no relegation, surprise surprise, teams are in the positions they are due to there performances so far this season,

2.) 29 Apr 2020 17:47:36
Stop using common sense.
We all know it should finish (in my mind they are ignoring the obvious solution of making next season only playing each team once so things can get back on track) but it probably won't so we need to be ahead of this.

24 Apr 2020 21:25:53
I've always been a fan of Dutch football and would deliberately look up drills from Ajax etc when coaching.
Today I really don't like Dutch football. This had best not become the precident.
If it does we at the least need to push hard for next season to start with the current point totals otherwise we are being discriminated against.

1.) 24 Apr 2020 22:07:24
I've got a feeling this season will not be finished. I think we can only hope the points per game system is used, as it would be the only fair way to sort it. Having said that, I wouldn't be saying the same thing if we were fourth rather than top. I really do fear the worst TBH! 😱.

2.) 24 Apr 2020 23:14:27
Totally disagree with the way the Dutch have done this, and agree, that it surely can’t be the precedent. Seems like a lazy solution to turmoil?!

15 Mar 2020 22:03:39
So I've not seen this option mentioned yet but to me seems the fairest.
Whenever it's safe to do so, the season continues to its rightful conclusion.
Then a month after that the Euros are played.
Next season starts a couple of months after that but it is shortened.
Each team plays each other just once. Would need to balance the home and aways, with each team's ground hosting a neutral game to make it fair.
Best wishes to all over there, you are ahead of the curve compared to here so our turn will come soon.

1.) 16 Mar 2020 06:24:01
Good shout Canada and you mate.

2.) 16 Mar 2020 00:49:01
Good options Canada . the current season simply must be completed. even if it takes tbe rest of 2020

But really the Corina Virus ( aka slightly more contagious flu) is surely one of the most bullshit unnecessary panic overhyped incidents in the history of mankind

China's stats. they have had the virus for 4 months or so and the death rate from the virus is now falling.

China's population 1.388 BILLION

Deaths from Corona Virus in China 3199

Drum roll 0.0000023042 % of Chinas population have died from Corona

Not an insignificant percentage of course but not anywhere near big to cause the panic which could cause a needless World recession from overreacting over zealous World governments

Get a grip World!

3.) 16 Mar 2020 08:11:33
Indeed Bazooka.

4.) 16 Mar 2020 09:32:57
Totally with you Baz. The vulnerable should maybe be more protected, with specific guidelines, but us healthy ones would be fine to just get on with it.

5.) 16 Mar 2020 12:59:40
I agree. IMO surely it's best to isolate the elderly and those with underlying health issues, then let the fit and healthy get the virus, then get better. This has got to be the best way to get rid of this virus as quickly as possible. 🤔.

6.) 16 Mar 2020 14:49:09
Totally agree danum, speaking total sense. A total lockdown of the population would just cause more cases. Isolating the elderly with health issues and others from anyone presenting with virus symptoms is the best idea, but this will only work if the government do test all those with symptoms rather than just saying self isolate. Plenty of virus like symptoms, colds flu etc and people not being properly checked.

27 Jan 2020 11:58:01
JKA announced.
Let's hope he can fire us to the promised land.

1.) 27 Jan 2020 12:30:37
Well done Orta and crew!

2.) 27 Jan 2020 12:39:00
We all hope so Canada!

Good news! Good signing!

Be even better if another striker, centre midfielder and central defender would come in too .

Has Augustin's registration been completed early enough so that he can be in the team/ squad vs Millwall?

3.) 27 Jan 2020 12:53:05
MB says JKA won’t be playing tomorrow, Poveda could be on the bench.

4.) 27 Jan 2020 12:53:10
Doubt he will be in the squad for tomorrows game. Will need a few weeks to get up to speed.

5.) 27 Jan 2020 13:06:33
Not a snowballs will he play against wall.

6.) 27 Jan 2020 13:13:53
He's now got to wait for Bamford to get injured or be suspended. At least the bench will look a bit stronger.

7.) 27 Jan 2020 13:18:12
Orta? sounds to me like Bielsa had to get involved in both transfers to get them done. Goodness knows what Orta is paid for.

8.) 27 Jan 2020 13:27:45
Mezzer if we signed messi you’d find something to moan about. Your not my ex wife stalking me are you?

9.) 27 Jan 2020 14:09:00
Found me out martyn. So your sure Bamford will be spending more time on the bench then! The new guy has come in to fill the space that Eddie left, think bielsa did say he needed a striker in to replace eddie.

10.) 27 Jan 2020 15:09:28
Alf, Bielsa himself has said he played no part in persuading any of the signings to join. Said they each had to WANT to play for Leeds United. Obviously tho, the “prospect”of being coached by him will have helped.

11.) 27 Jan 2020 15:21:03
Messi is too old now and unproven in the championship.

12.) 27 Jan 2020 15:50:33
. but you wouldn't say no?

16 Jan 2020 14:05:07
This is for those who attend ER regularly.
How many of you have ever worked with/ listened to or read about sports psychology?
I had little knowledge of anything to do with it until my youngest was competing at a very high level (it made a huge difference to his performance level, he ranked 6th in Canada and beat an Olympian at 16!) .

I'm certainly no expert but please do a quick google on 'sports psychology negativity from supporters' and see if any of it resonates.
Wondering what the ER atmosphere is like and whether any of you believe our negativity (fans) could be affecting the performance of the team. How does it compare with away games?

I believe Brits in general are negative and us Yorkies are even worse than average so just wondering if we are part to blame!

1.) 16 Jan 2020 15:27:30
I’ve only been 3 times but are the supposed beat fans in the land now why our team can let in goals and not score?
Easy. Nobody go.

2.) 16 Jan 2020 15:33:04
I think psychology has a huge part to play and ER is not a place for the faint hearted to play. that is sometimes why certain players fail when they come to Leeds and others flourish.

3.) 16 Jan 2020 15:36:53
Canada, This is a very important and relevant philosophy in sports. The negativity of anticipated bad luck and failure actually helps to create them because it contributes to us not putting our best foot forward. It blocks the flow of positive energy and directs the Law of Attraction to attract negative consequences rather than positive outcomes.
From fans to players to management absolutely 100% it has an effect.

4.) 16 Jan 2020 16:10:51
Aus, luck can cause the initial issue (or simply a mistake or off day) which can affect us as fans and we can then further make things worse by showing our frustration and nervousness.
That's why strikers who are on a roll often continue, confidence. Similarly slumps can go on too long.

5.) 16 Jan 2020 18:10:06
firstly canada well done to your boy that is a real achievement and well impressed!

i posted something a while back the crowd definatly can affect in any sport (and in my industry as well) but it is not just the neigitive i think the positive is just as bad

leeds are going up. top of the league. all puts pressure on the players

i mentioned before wall v brighton, gulls were wining and singing going down. wall sung so are we. the wall players lifted it was like the pressure went. wall won the game and went on a run and stayed up

id like to hear a lot leeds leeds going up and more marhcing on togheter (which must lift the players) and even maybe more leeds falling apart again as it might ease pressure

on another note. cry your eyes frank lampard defiantly lifted derby. he who laughs last and all that.

6.) 16 Jan 2020 19:07:04
I think each player will react differently.
I always do well under pressure, some dont.
We all feel pressure for different reasons.
Dont have answers just generally think positive is better.
For example next time Bamford misses a sitter why not sing:-

'The next one's going in,
Next one, next one's going in'.

Would show belief (even if we doubt! ) And hopefully help confidence.

How many of those games did Pable miss?
There is an undeniable trend in our results when he is missing.
Hopefully he's good for the start tomorrow and normal service is resumed!

Resale value is there so not a financial risk.
Do we have FFP room to buy now?
If so give us the money QSI and let's just get this done.

Leo it wouldn't be less games really as most premier teams play largely their 2nd team in domestic cup competitions.

And 51% need to vote to end it with no games played.
Can see that vote being passed as bottom 3 and a few just missing play offs will really want to finish and the rest will want it to end now or won't care so will go with easy option.

Agreed Mez which is exactly the same for Rose except he didn't get the same point across in a good way.
Main difference is players have to have contact when playing, the vast majority of us can avoid contact at work (a good few essentials cant) .
Rose's point is football is not essential so why take the risk? Health care etc is essential so it's impossible to avoid the risk.

So your thoughts on Troy Deeney are?
Only difference I see is how they have communicated the same concerns.

Main difference is it's impossible for them to work and socially distance.
The way he makes a noise about it isn't great but I understand his reasoning for not wanting to play.
