Rumour that Real Betis looking to sign Ben Johnson, Manuel Pelligrini worked with thin at the Hammers and is a big admirer and looking to hijack our own efforts to sign him. A shame if that's true I like Johnson and he would have been perfect for us in a position we desperately need cover in.

Why can we never just get these types of ones over the line with no messing about?

TheRealJuniorFirpo

1.) 16 Jan 2024 22:08:10
Typical Leeds procrastination missing targets .

See yet another report today (that as I correctly stated) the main (and only) true dispute between Farke and Spence

was Spence being asked to play LB whilst he wanted to understandably play in his natural position RB

As expected.

2.) 17 Jan 2024 04:31:08
Agree both above.
Looking more and more like 49ers are as inept owners.
We have without doubt enough money to buy Johnson. Faff around and miss the opportunity.
Radz part 2.

3.) 17 Jan 2024 05:40:40
At that point we literally had no fit LB Baz (Byram and Firpo injured) so Spence got played there. Is what it is. He's still a bad egg, as multiple managers and clubs have noted.

4.) 17 Jan 2024 06:13:57
Sweet babery Jaybus! They’ve been here for 10 minutes and they are labelled inept already!? And Farke gets rid of a despicable, arrogant, disrespectful disruption, and he’s damned. Fickle is, as fickle does.

5.) 17 Jan 2024 08:40:35
What you got against identifying targets and buying or loaning them bright.
It’s that easy. Convince player. Open wallet. Sign the paperwork.
Don’t wait wait and negotiate and negotiate. Show some urgency why not. Only promotion and millions at stake.

6.) 17 Jan 2024 10:34:10
Who says any of those were targets?
Just because press numpties say they are doesn't mean they are genuine targets.

7.) 17 Jan 2024 11:04:09
Dill if he is historically a ' bad egg' why sign him at all . huge pointless waste of loan fee and wages . zero out of ten by Hammond and co on this signing

What Aus said re millions at stake

Canada you might be correct re targets . but DF alluded to a quiet winduw and if proved so that smacks of little ambition and intent.

8.) 17 Jan 2024 12:52:47
Baz There are probably FFP considerations. I believe OP prediction we'll do business in late January shall prove correct. Can see us landing Johnson and Davies on loan.

9.) 17 Jan 2024 13:20:01
So we got no targets at all Canada?
Just a sell club?

10.) 17 Jan 2024 13:43:56
Ive seen conflicting rumours Bazilocks - namely that Spence was consistently late for training and refused to attend a charity event.

11.) 17 Jan 2024 14:06:01
Yes George FFP considerations which makes the Spence loan waste cost foolishness.

12.) 17 Jan 2024 14:14:55
Whoa sweet Lord! Spot on George!
And Aus, I didn’t say owt about not getting anyone, just that it may be a little premature to tattoo the word “inept” on our new owners’ foreheads yet! ??.

13.) 17 Jan 2024 16:18:03
Old smokescreen news Alfonzo.

14.) 17 Jan 2024 17:56:47
Baz No doubt a waste of money but at least we did something about it.

16 Jun 2023 08:28:15
Just been reading, Scott Parker rumoured as potential new manager. Can't imagine it missen, would he be welcomed?

TheRealJuniorFirpo

1.) 16 Jun 2023 09:32:15
Not big on that. Prefer farke.

2.) 16 Jun 2023 09:35:25
No thanks.

3.) 16 Jun 2023 11:36:04
Tbh, Farke, Parker and Corberan, in that order, all tick the right boxes, so I wouldn’t be averse to it Firpo.

4.) 16 Jun 2023 12:07:36
TRJF . hmm . of all the Leeds United players in history you chose ( real ) . Junior Firpo as your user name? . hmm. well at least it wasnt JKA ?.

5.) 16 Jun 2023 15:34:07
Suppose Farke can’t be any worse than them useless Farke’s we had since Bielsa. Brendan Rodgers too much to hope for I suppose.

6.) 16 Jun 2023 15:57:33
But I’m wi you Bright, Corberan would be a dream. Seems to be gathering some momentum that one too
.
Bazooka, sorry I just thought calling myself TRJF would be funny that’s all. Dint mean to upset any of the more longstanding people on here. Promise you I’m not a bot, or a spy from “Donny Rovers Rumours” or owt ??.

7.) 16 Jun 2023 19:56:42
I liked it Firpo! Obviously tongue in cheek, firmly! ????.

8.) 17 Jun 2023 09:54:11
I think firpo would be a good player in championship.

9.) 17 Jun 2023 13:16:49
Firpo as a defender is not even a pub league player.

10.) 17 Jun 2023 18:36:45
Rodgers is retiring Real.

Do I want ?? to win tonight or ???
I've been staring at the table ever since our game ended and I still can't decide - I need to go to bed!

Suppose if Leicester win, the saints don't have owt to play for maybe by the time we play 'em?

Or if saints win is that better. crap, I should be at work by now

Come on you Saints! .
. or Leicester. or a draw? arrrrrrgh.

TheRealJuniorFirpo

1.) 23 Apr 2024 09:53:06
Leicester win for me. Give them 1st. Narrow it down to us or Ipswich.
Don’t think saints will lay down either way last game. We need to be 4 points ahead of Ipswich by the weekend.
Can’t see them winning both their games. But can see them winning the last game.
Rather it all settled by the saints game tbh.

2.) 23 Apr 2024 10:22:50
Leeds beat QPR then Saints can NOT catch Leeds.

Saints win keeps 2 auto places up for grabs.

3.) 23 Apr 2024 10:33:38
I've had this same thought. If Leicester win, only 2nd up for grabs between us and Ipswich. If Southampton win, leaves 2 places open but between 4 teams. No matter what happens, we need to beat QPR on Friday. Ipswich have two tricky away games coming up and can't see Southampton losing to stoke. Potentially we could be promoted by next Tuesday if Ipswich lose both games and tonights game is a draw or Leicester win?.

4.) 23 Apr 2024 10:41:47
Some posts on this site are so stupid

Sorry but the op is an idiot

Clearly we want both teams to lose 10-0 tonight.

5.) 23 Apr 2024 12:19:44
A Southampton win for me! When we beat QPR on Friday that guarantees us to finish ahead of Southampton on goal difference. It will still be a 3-horse race for top 2 spots. They than will rest players against us for the playoffs and we thrash them. Meanwhile Tractor Boys and Leicester drop points. If all that makes sence.

6.) 23 Apr 2024 14:24:23
Dreaming berm tri.
Rest a proven motivated starting 11. Tosh.

7.) 23 Apr 2024 17:49:18
Southampton win, a draw at worst for me; Leeds hopefully beat QPR and then Ipswich face Hull, essentially the only team with a reasonable chance, with their game in hand at the play-off's beyond those sitting in those spots currently.

8.) 23 Apr 2024 17:49:22
Good post Hooksie

More than feasible scenario.

21 Jan 2024 14:15:35
Credit to (the other) Junior Firpo; I think on the last few games I've seen from him he's put in some not terrible performances.

Could he be finding his level and actually be a decent option for us this season at LB? With confidence I can see him getting even better. maybe?

The Morley Maldini anyone? The Lawnswood Lahm? The River Calder Roberto Carlos?

Or, am I getting carried away after one half decent cross against Preston? Time will tell.

TheRealJuniorFirpo

1.) 21 Jan 2024 14:20:42
He's always looked half decent in the attacking third, justbuseless in ours.
When he's in a team at top end of league he will look ok.

2.) 21 Jan 2024 14:26:43
Rothwell Robertson.

3.) 21 Jan 2024 14:54:08
St James's Junior.

4.) 21 Jan 2024 15:49:12
He is settling, and playing quite well of late, nobody can deny that.
He had no right to get to that ball and cross it so well for our first, but he bust a gut to get there. Some just like to hold on to their negatives, rather than giving credit when it’s due.

5.) 21 Jan 2024 15:55:04
Credit to Firpo to be fair. great cross for my main man DJ

Good going forward
And pleasantly decent defensively.

6.) 21 Jan 2024 15:55:38
Still need another LB also though.

29 Dec 2023 16:56:01
Does anyone know if we are able to recall Sam Greenwood in January. I always liked him, quality on the ball/ dead balls etc and felt like he could have come down to the Championship and so well in this division. Not sure how well he's doing at Middlesbrough or whatever, but I'd rather have him on our squad than theirs. Dunno what anyone thinks.

TheRealJuniorFirpo

1.) 29 Dec 2023 17:56:42
Id take him back, better option for the bench then some on the bench currently.

2.) 29 Dec 2023 18:17:17
I was against him going in the first place ; a huge mistake. he has scored 5 goals in 18 matches : helpful goal tally

1 player Sam Greenwood 5 goals

Whereas Leeds have a load of players who simply don't score :

Bamford, Gnonto, Anthony, Ampadu, Gray, Kamara, Byram, Rodon, Spence, Gruev, Ayling, Cooper and Joseph

THIRTEEN Leeds players total 5 goals between them . wasters.

3.) 29 Dec 2023 18:14:35
Greenwood is having a good season at Middlesbrough but I have a feeling that we can't get him back in January - I'm sure Ed can confirm though one way or another.

{Ed001's Note - you can always recall in a transfer window, even if there is no recall clause, by reaching an agreement with the club that have them on loan. So it is possible, but that doesn't mean it will happen. It might require buying out the loan contract, in some cases. It really depends on the relationship between your two clubs.}

26 Oct 2023 11:04:30
I'm really surprised to see all the anger towards Farke, I think he's doing an incredible job. Just think back to the last week or two of the transfer window and how bleak it actually looked for us, and very quickly he has changed that round to us thinking about promotion first time of asking.

This division is notoriously tough, with so many games and all those midweek games, he is always going to have to make these hard decisions to rest players all throughout the season. We got over run in central midfield last night that's where we lost it, but one of Farke's subs combined with Rutter and then Bamford got brought down for the penalty. Had Bamford scored it, or more likely someone else took it and scored it, we'd have nicked the points from a game we were second best in away from home and be saying now, Farke's substitutions won us the game!

Summerville can't start every game, I actually think it was Kamara in the middle who we missed most last night anyroad, and next time anyone sees Bamford stepping forward for a penalty run on the pitch and feckin' rugby tackle him, the clown.

TheRealJuniorFirpo

1.) 26 Oct 2023 13:25:06
'Incredible job " is possibly a label given to the Leicester manager certainly not DF and especially not on yesterday's big, mistakes.

Both Leicester and Ipswich tearing up this 'notoriously tough league ' and making the rest of tne teams look what they are : bang ordinary to mediocre at best.

Needs a big, big improvement for
Leicester game next week . the good news is we shall be playing in white. Leeds always play garbage in those awful away kits.

Thankfully also they have a woeful Huddersfield team this weekend.

2.) 26 Oct 2023 16:03:39
Just like a urine Stoke team last night Baz, its just a leeds thing now i have accepted it? 4 steps forward 1 and half back to swiftly follow is our mantra

But Danny James i just don't get! , stumbles - falls - mishits assists and i just can't see what others rave about , i know he ain't alone but for, transfer fee splashed on him!, its a very debatable return imo.

3.) 26 Oct 2023 18:30:30
Baz fully agree with you mate and the Leicester game sorry mate no hope.

4.) 26 Oct 2023 19:36:34
We will do a bounce, and do Leicester, which will be the start of their desired slump. So the Xmas cracker I just prematurely cracked says!

5.) 26 Oct 2023 20:55:51
Brighty don't waste your money on Leeds beating Leicester or on Leicester " slumping " . they are nailed on champions elect imo/ pre season prediction.

Indeed Whitey pal!

Chris we know you don't rate DJ . but facts are he has been ( far ) better, made far more things happen than Gnonto and Anthony ; plus DJ stats are pretty good . for Leeds and Wales combined this season so far .1 goal 8 assists!

Chris what's your opinion on DF game management yesterday and season so far in general? ?.

6.) 26 Oct 2023 22:40:57
I think the game against Leicester will be closer than many think and I have a sneaky feeling…

At the same point last season, Burnley were 4th in the table with same points as us (22 after 13 games) and QPR were equal top, so plenty can still change yet. Leicester need another 23 wins to = what Burnley achieved.

7.) 27 Oct 2023 05:55:40
The Championship is far too unpredictable to be handing the title to a team at this early stage of the season. Well into January usually sorts the wheat from the chaff. Hounding and smashing Farke and Bamford after the other night is not very smart either. Strange how some posters feel they become top football coaches when we lose a game!

8.) 27 Oct 2023 19:51:40
OP We are top football coaches win lose or draw. Many said this about PB for long time now. No hounding or smashing either. It's just a thanks and bye bye from me. That's what it should be. All it should be. Some footballers better than others and obviously therefore some worse. Pick best players. I'm liking Mateo. Pick him.

23 Sep 2023 22:05:51
It's great seeing Rutter fulfilling his potential now (or something like it anyway) . I think he could end up being the best player in that league. Minor problem with him not converting easy chances in last couple of games, but his overall play he looks very, very good. Summat really satisfying about us sticking with him and he starts to come good the way he has.

Three clean sheets in a row as well. Is it too early to be getting excited? ⬆️.

TheRealJuniorFirpo

1.) 23 Sep 2023 22:35:04
It's 4 clean sheets.

2.) 23 Sep 2023 22:39:44
I must admit not too long ago I thought he was a total flop and couldn’t believe we turned down substantial bids in the summer. What a turnaround! Looking like a young Thierry Henry but with a little Bergkamp thrown in.
Ok he missed a one on one midweek but that happens to the best forwards.
Nice to be wrong. For a change?

3.) 24 Sep 2023 02:00:21
For a change Corkster? ??☺️.

I’m glad to see this Piroe link re-emerging. I thought it was dead weeks ago, but I’d be very happy to see us get him, specially at around 8m like you say Brighty. Buonanotte? Has that been killed now, got me excited yesterday for half a second but then I remembered we’re Leeds and we don’t just quietly get a deal done like that.

I knew it wouldn’t be long till someone linked us to Mason Greenwood, forget it it was never going to happen, as if.

But Rodin would be a really good signing though, if we got any two from Rodon, that Greek one whose name I’m not trying, Philips and Harewood-Bellis what a massive upgrade that’d be at CB. With Cresswell as well, not bad.

Completely agree Mighty. I’m impressed (for now at least) at how resilient we’re being about keeping those handful of players we do want to retain. I thought Harrison, Gnonto and Tyler Adams at least would all have been snapped up by now. If we keep all those you mentioned we’ll be in with a right chance.

And absolutely Brighty, telling the Toffees where to stick it, over Gnonto, is a great start.

Just as well though because any new signings are still not looking likely for now. Frustrating as….

Sounds like Fiorentina and both Milans are interested in Gnonto. Him going back to Italy seems most likely to me, especially over Everton.
