Is Erickson a viable option? Just asking.

leodis

{Ed002's Note - I am not aware of Leeds showing any interest. I would think it unlikely, but he is being offered around.}

Leo Can you seriously see Rob Price approving his medical? Can you seriously see Ericsson committing to murderball?

2.) 19 Jan 2022 15:59:36
He’s a great player, that’s for sure, but George has hit the nail on the head. No chance would we take a risk on his long term health just for murderball. Under any other training regime, I would have him at Leeds at the drop of a hat!

Journos are resurrecting the Lewis O'Brien deal? If this has legs then it looks like we are building for life without Kalvin. The lad looks a decent DM with his forte being his tackling skills. What he does not seem to posess is an abundace of creativity still if he is a straight replacement then, maybe, okay but I feel we have that already in Adam forshaw. I was a little dubious of him but since his return the lad has been a revelation . Putting out fires where ha can and setting up moves where he can. He has been doing two roles in one and at times been overwhelmed however with help in there and a settled team I beleive he will come good.
As for midfield my want is the old creative Pablo role. Come on Santa!

Corshaw has been magnificent, however, already 30 so not the future of Leeds U.

2.) 21 Dec 2021 09:21:57
It troubles me when we are linked with championship players!
We had a squad of the best championship players from 2 seasons ago and it’s clear they are struggling.

Call it 2nd season syndrome or what ever.
But if we have ambitions to push on up the table to establish ourselves as a premier league club and move away from these relegation fights becoming a season in season out thing then surely we need to be looking at a better level of player.
Don’t get me wrong there’s always a hidden gem out there all Rapha but not many.
I’ve spoken to town fans who say he’s no where near the level we need in the prem and to be fair I’ve watched them a few times on sky and not been impressed.
I know we’ve been linked with better in the passed all over the pitch and never managed to sign any of them but the likes of Torrera, Guendouzi, Nandez or Alex Kral, yes a suspect character in there but those are surely better than a bang average championship player for basically the same cash.
Why not try loan Felix from athletico? Can’t get a game but has undoubted quality.

3.) 21 Dec 2021 19:13:19
I wouldn't mind a few pick of the Champ. O Brien, the Reading lad, Blackburn forward. All in good form and can grow with the club. Wet Sham did that with a few players over the last few years and it worked alright for them. What do we reckon? 60 70mil for the 3 of them. I'd take that.

4.) 22 Dec 2021 08:50:54
I don’t think the club was totally committed in bringing O’Brien in, I believe the amount was agreed on but not the payment structure. Had Leeds really wanted him they would have met their demands. They took a gamble that Forshaw would come good in his return and he did. O’Brien is a decent player but should we be looking at better quality? Most certainly.

5.) 23 Dec 2021 10:10:24
I would like us to but that definitely isn't the board's plan. They want want buy cheap, develop the players and sell expensive.

I see we are now after a lad from Espanyol (paper talk? ) . I keep reading we are after this or that phenomenon just wish he was an AM phenomenon. Or are we just waiting for Lewis Bate?

IF ronaldo Viera has been playing DM at Sampdoria and IF he has been gaining good reviews what are the chances of bringing him home in January?

leodis

{Ed002's Note - Zip - he has only just joined them.}

1.) 31 Oct 2021 16:26:48
Ed002 Hardly think 39 months equates to "just".

{Ed002's Note - He spent a year at Hellas Verona.}

2.) 31 Oct 2021 19:50:33
Ed002 Nevertheless he's been on Sampdoria books for that length of time plus the loan out shows they probably don't want him anymore.

What about these rumours coming out of Metz? Farid Boulaya. First I have heard of it/ him. Having to scrabble round Google to find him. Nobody has mentioned the name ever before.
So, must be true, what do you think?

leodis

1.) 20 Jul 2021 07:45:12
Career blighted by injury but q bit of a baller by all accounts. Would be good if stays fit but I worry about his injury record. However we do need a creative mid and at around £5m may be worth a punt depending on wages.

Given the present injury position, is it better to request a postponement of Newcastle, or play it? Surely we qualify twice over for a no play but then we would have to play an increased strength Newcastle. Mind you as Sean Derry said a change does not guarantee success it only guarantees a change.

Leo Futile. Once someone at the powers that be realize it comes from Leeds and they smell all the money from our opponents, it's just well use your imagination. They'd still make us play even if our only player fit was the U-11 captain from Heckmondwike.

2.) 17 Jan 2022 21:39:00
True. Probably futile and TBH I am quite enjoying having the moral high ground, with even some pundits speaking favourably about the way Leeds has just got on with the job.

Also I am personally glad of the opportunity to give our youth squad a go to see where they are at in terms of being "first team" effective (and have not been disappointed so far) .

Please note, this is not a comment about our past, present or future history of signings. This is a separate issue.

3.) 17 Jan 2022 21:57:51
The Heckmondwike U-11 captain has just turned down a move to Gomersal and Cleckheaton FC because they wouldn't pay the transfer fee of a Panini 2006 World Cup Panini Card of Andrea Pirlo.

14 Jan 2022 14:15:06
Just taken a look at Ola Aina's showreel and he looks a decent player. It says on his CV that he is a left back but from the looks of it he can play anywhere and on either side however I am thinking with the latest news and the signs at Norwich etc, is it worth keeping our powder dry and picking up some bargains in the summer.

leodis

1.) 14 Jan 2022 19:24:12
If there is any truth to this particular rumour, it would make sense, as he started out as a right back, an has good experience on both sides, as well as on right and left midfield. If he or another player will similar experience and quality was signed it would enable Dallas, and Shack, to concentrate on midfield.

14 Jan 2022 12:24:46
I am slowly getting news weary of everything and everyone that Leeds are chasing. I am desperate for news, real news, but am fed up with all the names conjured up by lazy journos just trying to fill col inches.
I will still trawl through the items but the only ones that catch my attention will be those in the past tense.

leodis

1.) 14 Jan 2022 12:36:53
Think we are all entering that phase as well Leodis, so we are all in the same boat, almost! Still another couple of weeks to go, but not going to hold my breath!

14 Jan 2022 12:19:32
To put it politely it seems again that Bielsa is a man of principle (some would say cut off his nose . ) but to let Drameh go, certainly before the West Ham game, seems ludicrous. For this weekend there is only one loser at a time when we are stretched at the back. I can understand fully Dramehs need for game time but for goodness sake can his move not have been made next week.

1.) 14 Jan 2022 13:08:40
Might be a bit more to this Leo, Seemingly bubs wanted him to stay.

14 Jan 2022 12:09:18
Just read Bielsa may be losing out to WBA on his chase of Verdat Muqiri. Has he seen his Muqiri skills and goals reel? It consists of side netting and tame shots at the keeper. If that's the best they can find then good luck West Brom.

1.) 14 Jan 2022 13:12:33
For any Leeds fan to try and justify the signing of this player is embarrassing .

Wake up call, we are in the greatest league in the world but seemingly we are interested in players who are far below the required standard .

We are all supposed to follow the science behind the stats . Can someone tell Victor of this lads stats for Lazio.

2.) 14 Jan 2022 13:35:40
Totally agree Chris, either it’s all just media and agent nonsense or someone has lost the plot and thrown in the towel, this lump is of absolutely no use to us to create goal or score goals or even put pressure on Patrick up top.
If we’re to sign Cabral, Fofana and Arenson then that would have been a very successful winter window in my eyes. Instead we apparently wanna sign another set of uselessness.
Victor get your thumb out ya bum and get some serious business done.
The squad the way it is is hardly gunna tempt a decent Bielsa replacement for the summer.

3.) 14 Jan 2022 13:36:40
Hopefully it now seems true, he travelling to the Baggies for a transfer .

I was starting to believe this was going to happen, right up Victors street this fella.

4.) 14 Jan 2022 14:22:02
Me Who Victor signs is seemingly determined by the budget set for him by Radz. Looks like we've reverted to shopping at Aldi but in fact right now that's an insult to Aldi.

5.) 14 Jan 2022 15:11:31
George lad it’s more like old netto at the moment. I mean surely anything spent now will be offset in the summer with the likely sales of Kalvin and or Rapha anyway.

It so annoys me to read we are after a new striker when we have a 30 goal a season striker in the U23s that doesn't get played?

Draxler, Really? let's just park him on the list between Messi and Bale. Just above Ronaldo (Christiano that is) .
Maybe he does prefer Paris to Leeds but he could live in Batley and get the train in.

Yes Baz its this current squad, less injuries, that have got us to this and there is no God given right that when players come back we will inexorably rise up the league. I wonder abour Burnley, on paper they have enough fire power to scrape safe. They just for some unknown reason need to organise.

Koch has been tried previously in the DM role and found wanting. I would not have been worried to see a Forshaw/ Kenneh combination.
