Was very worried when Pontus went down looking at the bench, we had no proven Centre back cover. Maybe shows MB that more than forward line, it's at the back that any recruitment should be focussed, or at least have Shaghnessy on the bench for the next game.

Looking at the replays Leo, I was worried it was serious, because he really went over that ankle with his studs stuck. thought the same as you. That said, they did batter us after that anyway!

2.) 13 Nov 2018 16:59:07
PJ's been pulled out of the internationals so hopefully he'll be raring to go on Saturday week.

Hate the result but I am not panicking. I am praying it's a blip. Hope we don't have a knee jerk reaction now, the next game is our biggest so far.

Starting to agree with the "Saiz needs a rest" camp. He has looked a little off it these past few games. He is on of these that you complain about for a large part of the game then he conjures up some brilliance that not many could master and you are left with egg on the face, but, with Forshaw showing fine form in cameos now is a good a time as any to let the maestro rest.

1.) 26 Oct 2018 09:31:22
I’m beginning to agree too. Saiz is brilliant on his day, amazing, but Forshaw looks good too, particularly when he came on the other day. Give him a crack.

2.) 26 Oct 2018 12:07:34
I think the answer might be for him to share a shift with Forshaw as Bielsa is starting to do now. A shame for him not to have a bit more time playing with Hernandez after shouldering the burden without him.

Don’t think we have anyone like him in the team with as much trickery .

3.) 26 Oct 2018 15:19:49
How many games has Saiz actually missed so far this season?

4.) 26 Oct 2018 18:26:20
Hasn’t missed any league games has he?

With all the injuries, lack of form, change of formation and then all the young up and comings, I am starting to feel a little sorry for (the forgotten man) Lewis Baker. Not seeing a glimpse of daylight and not even a mention. In MB we trust so if he thinks we we do not need him then so be it but like Ideguchi before him he goes down in the, what if and if only, columns.

leodis

1.) 26 Oct 2018 09:10:11
I think Baker still adds to the squad, seen him on under 23 duty and around the first team squad and he is always very professional, hard working and keen to help the younger kids. He is useful to have around, but as Forshaw has got his fitness back his role has diminished a bit. Klich beats him as sammy sub and Forshaw as KP sub.

2.) 26 Oct 2018 15:21:16
Some here weren’t that impressed with some of his early form - maybe still a bit green but it’s up to him to force hos way into the squad if he is good enough. If not do we really want him in there anyway? Football should not be about sentiment.

Well done Tyler Roberts. Most people were saying "all the lad needs is a goal" Well he's now got two so the big test of the player is now the weekend. Hope he can pop up with another one (at least) then MB has one hell of a decision when Roofe is fit. It's a good problem to have.

leodis

1.) 20 Sep 2018 07:29:06
genuinely rather keep the boy tyler in than bring back roofe, saying that seeing Roberts score will push him, and Roberts could even replace alioski on the wing. Harrison will be very hard to dislodge from this team now.

At the risk of starting a crusade. Did Shaugnessy not do well enough to look at a start against Bolton. Surely he has proved previously and yesterday that he will not let us down if called upon. I can only think MB has seen something in practice that he does not like.

leodis

1.) 12 Dec 2018 13:34:12
Leodis, I’ve seen him a few times, once when he was tried in the Holding midfielder, which was ugly and he was taken off and a few times as CB. Get the impression he isn’t one of the faves. Aapo now seems to have gone ahead of him. I think he doesn’t seem to really grab hold of chances. Assuming he is fit.

2.) 12 Dec 2018 21:58:07
Thanks Spanish.

Just reading who owes what to the banks and thought we were doing well down in 14th with only 25mill but thenI kept going and saw :- Norwich 6.5, Derby 3, Sheff Utd 1.9, WBA 0. We all know parachute payments help but it must be a good feeling when the phone rings and it's the bank Manager. By the same token some of the teams at the other end must hide when their Bank Manager rings and pray every night that their sugar daddy doesn't suddenly get bored with his new toy.

Leodis, it’s a good warning for those who think we should go down the Viv Nicholson route, ( showing my age) , spend, spend, spend! And also why getting into the premiership is important to the club!

2.) 10 Dec 2018 19:23:01
Viv Nick eh? sadly I was too young to catch her eye when she had money :)

09 Dec 2018 15:40:46
I think we are safe from the bottom 5 (maybe even 7) if they come poaching in January. None of those look safe at the bottom of the Prem just yet and unless you are offered a 5 year contract on silly money what's the point in going. Too much of a gamble. The only ones to worry about are the likes of Man City but then would you go from virtual guaranteed chances to shine to just shining your pants. Sat on the bench (if your lucky) . No, to any of the stars, ignore the short term gain and ride the up escalator with Leeds.

leodis

1.) 09 Dec 2018 19:50:08
For a second I thought you were saying Leeds were safe from bottom five. Had me thinking!

2.) 09 Dec 2018 23:16:12
I thought the same Cork! But a bang on post Leo. I think we may find the days of our top potential leaving to warm benches are gone. Why would they, given that we will be at the top level soon!

3.) 10 Dec 2018 11:21:54
Are we safe from the bottom 5 though? Could we still go down?

4.) 10 Dec 2018 15:41:38
I think we're safe from relegation with another 10 points alf ;)

5.) 10 Dec 2018 21:08:00
The sooner we get that the better.

08 Dec 2018 20:26:18
Surely we must see Bamford at some point next week. Come what may.

leodis

1.) 08 Dec 2018 20:48:45
Saw him in the under 23s last time out and thought he still looked a bit unfit. It’s Bielsas style not to rush players back in if he can avoid it. Roofe was fired up today, should have got a hat trick and almost fought Hernadez to take the penalty.

2.) 08 Dec 2018 21:43:18
I think he'll get some minutes, but please, don't call me Shirley :)

08 Dec 2018 20:22:36
It will be good to get Ayling back but now we know we should have no worries if his form dips. We have a ready replacement.

leodis

1.) 08 Dec 2018 20:57:35
Leodis Can't see his form dipping from the sub bench.

Agree Spanish. We look unstoppable in the first two thirds but as soon as we get near goal it starts to unravel. It's not that we play badly. It's just that we do not seem to have a killer touch. Our decision making seems to fail us. Pass when we should shoot etc. I feel maybe a little greedy. We are second and playing with a patched up team (maybe were getting spoiled) but I look at some of the draws and think "if only".

Buy or Don't buy I don't really care. So long as it's his decision. Then as you say let's rally around for the run in.

The situation is not always the same but but surely any loan move should come with a requirement that he plays a certain percentage of games. If not send him back. We would rather have him warming our bench than theirs.

our bench should comprise of minimum 3 defenders plus at least 2 goalkeepers. Just in case.

Centre Circle on a matchday (a friendly against Leyton Orient) with the crowd baying for blood and all eyes on the directors box where KP stands with his thumb poised.

Agree with most of what has already been said. GK Can't decide which way to go here BPF has not done much wrong. The odd goof up but talk to Mr Pickford about those. I would be comfortable with BPF/ / Huffer but also with Heaton etc/ / BPF. Even be ok with a long in the tooth GOOD goalkeeper (Green? ) as cover and teacher for BPF, Just on a one or two year contract.
