I cannot see the downside and only hope that moves are taking place behind the scenes but please go get Riqui Puig 21 years, twinkling feet, only on 25k (Rodrigo on 125k) and the clincher - on a free this summer! He is exactly what we need to unlock bus parkers. Has a good engine and a consistently high pass completion rate. The only down sides I can see is that he does not win many aerial duels (should fit in well I hear you say) and is not known greatly for tracking back. Maybe MB can work on that.
No fee, acceptable salary, it's a no brainer.

Only on a free if they release him?
Dont they have the right to extend by another year?
Not sure if they had to do that already though.

I see we are interested in a left back from MK Dons. This is one of the top priority problems for January, Alioski is a waste of time at left back and Dallas for all his effort is just not a left back.
If we do not bring in a new face then we should be doing all we can to integrate Huggins into the first team.

1.) 16 Dec 2020 03:19:54
Agree we desperately need a natural LWB, Alioski and Dallas are good cover but that's all. Is the Dons LB really the answer though? Hope we chase someone at a bit of a higher level if we try to bring someone in.
Linked a few times already, Rose as a short term would be a good shout if he took a hefty pay cut.

2.) 17 Dec 2020 13:56:12
Gum Rose is so an avoid. Poor character. Huggins will make it. Henry from ๐Ÿ better shout.

3.) 18 Dec 2020 03:23:11
Gotta disagree George. Brentford wanted a big fee for Henry in the summer and that will be more in a jan window. He has no prem exp and might not transition up. Rose will be cheap if not free as Jose wants rid. Prem level, will be fit training at spurs, covers a lot of ground in a game. Long term he wouldn't be the answer but as someone to come in and give us a season or two while we find someone long term or get a youngster up to scratch is just what we need. Not saying he is the answer but certainly someone in that mould would be good.

4.) 21 Dec 2020 14:41:06
Gumbo Your right to disagree but from what I hear Rose is trouble and would likely upset the happy go lucky camaraderie of the dressing room. Also, why consider taking back a player who was disloyal to us by leaving? He's a problem we don't need. As for ๐Ÿ wanting lots of money, surprised? Good players attract big price tags. There won't be many bargains for a quality left back. Personally, I think Huggins can make it but in reality see him being loaned out for a season first.

23 Nov 2020 16:19:25
I do love "paper talk" but here goes. The latest name to be mentioned, Rique Puig looks the real deal (don't they all? ) with Barcelona looking to loan him out. In fact I would go as far as saying; he looks like the next (insert name here) I let you all decide.

Is QSI now dead in the water?

leodis

1.) 05 Nov 2020 06:28:52
Not sure there was ever anything there but after promotion Radz certainly not up for selling.

2.) 09 Nov 2020 22:32:50
Alf There clearly was something there but not many PL football clubs will be bought at market value with or without premium with the current stench of both the c juice and Big Picture doing the rounds.

3.) 14 Nov 2020 06:50:21
QSI didn't even go as far as visiting the ground or doing any kind of due diligence so miles away from a take over. Maybe an interest in investment or maybe as Radz said all along just a friendship after all.

I saw the big man watching Bournemouth v Everton. Who was he watching? For me I hope it was David Brooks. The lad is class.

Hopefully he isn't thinking of becoming Everton's manager.

Based on current progressions I certainly look forward to next season with, before any additions, we have exciting cover in all outfield positions.
RB Ayling-Drameh-Hosannah
CB Koch-Llorente-Cooper-Struijk-
Cresswell-Casey
LB Dallas-Davis-Forshaw-?
DM Philips-Bogusz-McCalmont
RW Poveda-Costa-Summerville
AM Klich-McKinstry-Shacks-?
AM Rodri-Kenneh-Pablo-Kamwa
LW Harrison-Raphina-?
ST Bamford-Kun-Greenwood-Gelhart
The? denotes where we need to recruit
The abundance of talent (and potential talent) means that we can filter in the young guns slowly also given MBs methods many players can multi task with ease.

1.) 21 Jan 2021 16:07:55
Gotta get you some sun Leo!

Think Llorente or Koch will be favoured over our youngsters for DM spots and think Robbie Gotts is most likely to be given a chance next season by Bielsa, somebody else said on here previously loans is what these youngsters need great though it is to win u23 leagues they need tough fixtures every week in lower leagues to show they can make the step.

2.) 21 Jan 2021 16:33:13
Leo good post and these options look pretty good potentially : hopefully these young guys fulfil their potential

I think Raphina most definitely plays better RW than LW

Kamwa is playing ST these days
Kenneh CDM even CB occasionally as cover,
Bogusz AM.

3.) 21 Jan 2021 17:35:08
Had a nap this lunchtime so must have missed the sun Class.
I knew I would get some things wrong Baz. Totally missed Robbie Gotts and mis placed Three of the others. Sorry guys.

4.) 21 Jan 2021 17:56:40
Itโ€™s ok mate put it down to the weather.

21 Jan 2021 13:08:49
Been doing too much thinking this afty. Rain, lockdown, rubbish telly it all adds up, anyway. I was thinking of some U23s which we have let go but I quite fancied as breakthroughs. Sam Dalby, Tom Pearce, O'Connor, Shaugnessy and one I liked and we could have done with recently, Hugo Diaz. Before I go can I give an honourable mention to one who was treated poorly and we never saw what he could do - Yosuke Ideguchi.

21 Jan 2021 12:39:26
Just thinking about how many of our U23s are realistically pushing for a first team appearance then I got to thinking; add on to that the ones out on loan. Which got me thinking if anyone knows of the progress of our loanees Bogusz, Hosannah and McCalmont. Which then got me thinking, whatever happened to our wonderkid of a couple of years ago. He seems to have been loaned out and promptly forgotten. I didn't really watch much U23s at that time but do remember receiving reports of his talent. Again does anyone know how he is doing and do we have a contender upon return?

leodis

1.) 21 Jan 2021 13:12:28
Christ leo, you sure done a lot of thinking ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚.

2.) 21 Jan 2021 13:31:29
Bogus is out on loan.

3.) 21 Jan 2021 13:33:17
Yeah Chris, blame the weather.

4.) 21 Jan 2021 13:51:39
Hope you are ok Leo despite weather, c.v. etc. If you want a chat happy to oblige :)

Same goes for the rest of you as well. We need to look after each other in our Leeds family.

5.) 21 Jan 2021 14:57:07
We (that's me and the wife, not the royal We) are 24/ 7 babysitting a 16mth bundle of pure energy (grandson) so having a different mental stress. Thanks anyway Alf. I truly appreciate the offer.

6.) 21 Jan 2021 15:01:25
Just reading first post again. Total miss out. The wonderkind bit should have referred to Kun Temenuzkov. Loaned out and forgotten - even I forgot his name. Sorry Kun.

7.) 21 Jan 2021 15:12:45
Alf hour with Alf โ€˜

Itโ€™s actually a very good point Alf we never know whatโ€™s going on in the lives of all posters, so important to have connections especially at this time.

Think Mrs Class would like me to address my addiction to Leeds United. Gawd hope she doesnโ€™t make me choose. iโ€™d miss her.

8.) 21 Jan 2021 15:38:23
Maybe we could all meet up in the summer. Something like "my name is Class and I am an addict. " After that we could all repair to the bar and discuss our (differing) team selections.

9.) 21 Jan 2021 16:17:57
I would love that. Having previously having the pleasure of meeting up with Bermo, Mrs Bermo, DJ, Mrs DJ and Spanish (who are all thoroughly lovely people) it is always great to meet up in person and share a few pints and opinions. Always up for a get together:)

10.) 21 Jan 2021 16:36:44
Brilliant idea Leo.

11.) 21 Jan 2021 19:21:09
Great shout Alf, about chatting. Difficult times for everyone at the moment! Thank God we have our football to keep us sane/ amused/ depressed. Delete the irrelevant! I consider this site to be part of my football family and a visit here is one of the first things every morning! Friendly chat and banter helps us all to cope atm and long may it continue!

I keep reading in the various media that, forget so and so Bielsa should unleash this supremely talented xxx, from the U23s. Whilst I have no truck with the sentiment I feel as though it is lazy journalism. True some of these lads shine in their U23s environment, but that is what it is DIVISION 2 U23s. These lads have not been tested in the big boys arena so let's not overhype them.

I like them when I watch the U23 games but please, please do not drag them along too quickly. The next step for some of the more promising young guns should be quality loans out. A very, very important step and one not to be taken without great thought. For instance Firstly they must only go to attacking teams who mirror our style.

Yes I know it will be difficult to find an exact match so a certain amount of compromise must be found. Secondly they must only go if they are guaranteed X per cent of game time. To go out and warm a bench would be soul destroying. It cannot be stressed enough the importance of these young guns are to the future of our club and as such wheels at the highest level must be put in motion. On that tack I hope that our current crop of loanees? are faring well at their respective clubs.

Good post Leo.

I have a feeling that our right back Cody Drameh may be the player who will be more successful in having a top flight career ( hopefully with Leeds) than any other in the current Leeds U23 squad.

Cody is technically very good on the ball, very fit, strong, athletic, tall and quick, very good going forward with good dribbling skills, good in the air, very good tackling.

He looks the real deal for me.

16 Jan 2021 19:25:03
If today has shown anything to the powers that be then it is that we need two players. Firstly I would dearly love to see a solid left back to raid down the wing (with pace) sorry, the name Rico Henry keeps cropping up but more importantly we need locksmith AM to unpick the ever growing banks of 4 and 5 that face us. Right now we are screwed if they park the bus, bereft of ideas, no Plan B. Today we huffed and Puffed at times but would still be seeking the goal even if still playing at this time.

leodis

1.) 17 Jan 2021 00:55:39
Rodrigo de Paul.

2.) 17 Jan 2021 09:12:57
Totally agree Martyn, sadly do not believe we have the funds to make it happen. Although I think someone of his quality and leadership could transform our season and all the other areas could wait until Summer. With Klich of form there is no link between defence and attack and Rodrigo de Paul could do for us what Fernandez has done for Man U.

3.) 17 Jan 2021 17:22:31
Another 3 word, in a nutshell, on the nose post Martyn! ๐Ÿบ๐Ÿบ๐Ÿบ.

Draxler, Really? let's just park him on the list between Messi and Bale. Just above Ronaldo (Christiano that is) .
Maybe he does prefer Paris to Leeds but he could live in Batley and get the train in.

He would love to come back. It would make sense financially. He could live back at home and nip home for lunch and let the dog out. What's not to like.
