I saw the big man watching Bournemouth v Everton. Who was he watching? For me I hope it was David Brooks. The lad is class.

Hopefully he isn't thinking of becoming Everton's manager.

Happy with the two Inter names bandied about. Both come highly recommended but both are young enough to not demand a starting berth every week. If we are to start playing three at the back then Struijk and Nolan should complement White and Cooper perfectly. If Nolan has the same ice cool attributes as White he will be a capture indeed.

leodis

1.) 04 Aug 2019 22:44:15
Yep, totally agree Leodis. White looks so confident with the ball at his feet, reminded me of Norman Hunter! Too soon tho, but just my first impression.

2.) 05 Aug 2019 16:20:06
More like a little Paul Madeley Bright.

3.) 05 Aug 2019 21:41:25
That’s the highest accolade there is Bige!

01 Aug 2019 18:31:29
Please, please, please, let this Nolan* rumour be true.
*PS or pretty much any other decent CB.

We, supposedly, are interested in Striker Caicedo in Italy. 15goals in 2 seasons kind off says it all. What we have is way better than that. End of.

leodis

1.) 23 Jul 2019 23:11:23
Leo This is why it's not easy to improve on what you have unless you spend big which we simply can't do. It's always about value, at least at this level. I believe Edmondson will contribute this season but the spine of the defence is a concern.

2.) 24 Jul 2019 00:33:50
Not many decent strikers available to be fair, maybe Hugill. I have faith that Edmo will do the job if he gets the chance.

3.) 24 Jul 2019 10:31:57
What’s going on here!? This is the 3rd time I’ve agreed with you George!

4.) 24 Jul 2019 16:03:00
Yes George the only panic point I am creeping up on is Centre Back.

18 Jul 2019 14:54:39
Samu gone to Girona. Do we not play them 29 July?

leodis

1.) 18 Jul 2019 15:33:02
Indeed. Well, actually 27th isn't it. And Girona also play Derby two days previously, so it will be interesting which of those matches features the greater proportion of Girona's first team - of course there could be a mixture for both, and I guess Said could play in either.

Likewise, it will be very interesting to see which of our players are there and which in Sardinia. Presumably Bielsa will want his likely starters for Brizzle playing together, but we can only guess whether he will choose to take them to Sardinia or Tad.

Has the big man signed yet?

I wish they would hurry up and resolve the Ben White crisis. It is, most likely, stopping our moving on the Plan B. Also affecting our other chases as we do not know how much is left in the kitty.

leodis

1.) 09 Aug 2020 10:03:25
But if we need 2CD, which I think we do, are they still lookin, price might be a factor.

2.) 09 Aug 2020 10:21:06
I hope Leeds, Orta and Bielsa have contingency plans alternative players to Ben White.

Ben White needs to put in a transfer request immediately to force this move indicating strongly that he would not be happy at all remaining at Brighton.

If he doesn't put in a transfer request and Brighton do not accept a 3rd bid Leeds need to move on to. alternatives.

All these "names" which attract bigger (more finances) clubs are going to be difficult for us to land so, as I have said many times we have to look where others do not go. I am sure in Bolivia, Guatamala, Albania or Benin their is an unfound nugget waiting for us, and a damn sight cheaper than the current UK crop. As anyone who watches Aussie Gold Hunters - you've got to get out there and dig.
I know it's far more of a gamble but until a Billionare or QSI throw money at us that is the market we are in.

leodis

1.) 06 Aug 2020 17:05:54
I agree. Also, do any of you guys know of any players anywhere that we are not linked with buying? Squad will be bigger than ground capacity if we buy em all.

2.) 06 Aug 2020 18:41:27
If bielsa is staying, I would have thought he has already sat down with Radz and Orta and given them the names of transfer targets. It is frustrating that we have seen no signs of major transfers for actual players expected to join the first team squad, but there is still plenty of time left in the transfer window and it's obvious the press will link us with ever name .
We not going to splash big money so our targets will have to be maybe more unknown than well known players.

3.) 06 Aug 2020 22:52:46
Fair assessment Mezzanine, irrespective of what we get from joining premier league and any investors (you cannot spend more than your revenue) and Leeds like most clubs will not be shielded from the financial hole that is the virus.

Think most of names mentioned just lazy press, none of us knew about JKA until it happened Bielsa will be in full matrix mode and be identifying players to fit his chess board. Don’t have a problem with that in terms you don’t have any animosity over huge gaps in pay.

That being said you normally have to pay premium money for goalscorers however, I think we will be very circumspect in this transfer window.

Bielsa is still to sign and he’s our most important signing bar none.

4.) 07 Aug 2020 06:33:34
I agree there class. Noises about Bielsa seem positive though I'm quietly confident.

5.) 07 Aug 2020 10:37:46
The Leeds way.
Linked with A, B, C.
Sign X, Y, Z.

Hope Kun tears it up in Spain next season.

leodis

1.) 05 Aug 2020 18:57:06
Would question the player if he doesnt, looking at the standard of the league there in, surely a loan to a div 1 would of been better.

2.) 05 Aug 2020 21:59:30
Probably not good enough like most of Orta's flops for the future.

3.) 05 Aug 2020 22:27:15
Alf - any chance you could stop moaning for a while. Try a bit of positivity about our great club - including Victor Orta.

Most of the rest of my life has been falling apart around my ears for the last two and a half years, yet for the most part I've managed to remain positive about Leeds, and surely even you would agree that we now have a great deal to be happy about. Much of that would not have been achieved without Marcelo Bielsa, and who's idea was it to try bringing him to Leeds.

4.) 05 Aug 2020 22:35:23
Alf you’re some geezer. All that positivity will kill ya mate!

5.) 05 Aug 2020 23:42:34
Hope yer doing ok clueless, stay strong pal. I know the feeling. ✊🏻.

05 Aug 2020 12:28:21
Just read an interesting thought? With Carlos moving on it was mooted that the U23s coaching role could be filled by Pablo. Maybe not full time at first but as the years catch up with him he would be ideal to pass his knowledge and skill on to the new blood coming in. Surely there are are few better versed than Pablo on the ways of Bielsaball and it would be a crying shame to lose any of that.

leodis

1.) 05 Aug 2020 13:04:58
Defo would give him a go if he has done his coaching badges. The only barrier to this initially would be his stated desire to finish his playing career at the club he part owns, in Spain?

2.) 05 Aug 2020 14:04:19
I’m sure he will want to coach. His Spanish team has been promoted to la liga 2, so getting close to the point he could return and play.

3.) 05 Aug 2020 15:28:35
As Bright says, he has said he wishes to end his career at CD Castellon, something he repeated as recently as this May - so probably not an option for the moment. Maybe the Club has something lined up on the coaching side as an option for Berardi. Not as great a player as Pablo, but Corberan himself never really had a senior playing career, starting his coaching journey aged 23.

The first big signing is the man himself. The rest will follow.

He would love to come back. It would make sense financially. He could live back at home and nip home for lunch and let the dog out. What's not to like.

Long term (or even short term) I think Bowen would have greater impact, knocking in a few but better still setting up far more.

At this impasse, the only acceptable compromise for both parties is another loan. That is if we do not instigate a Plan B. We get Ben, Brighton keep their preferred CBs and get one years more experience for their own "one for the future".
Of course they may well be in the Championship next year so may be desperate to sell in 12 months.

I agree. Love the man but, as we found Ben so can we find Ben Mk2. There are plenty of ball playing CBs waiting out there.

I often think a winger is a perfect choice for conversion to a No 10.
If we have Poveda or a possibility of Benrahma then how about Harrison or Costa as a new No 10?

WE are overstocked in the chances dept. but extremely light in goals. A point touched on by Bielsa recently (and by posters on here for many a month so I feel the strongest push will be for a natural goalscorer/ poacher to convert all these chances.
