Now chasing Nkoulo, a CB. Do we need another CB or is he replacing Kalvin?

1.) 01 Mar 2021 23:10:56
Hopefully so Struik can go out on loan (though I know peeps disagree) . That or to replace Cooper hopefully.

23 Feb 2021 17:39:43
29 year old right sided Lucas Vazquez. His pedigree is solid but I have to ask where does he play? RB Ayling/ Drameh. RW Raph/ Poveda/ Sumerville. Someone would have to be greatly disappointed. Oh hang on he's on a free!

1.) 24 Feb 2021 02:26:29
Good player and tracks back really well but let's be honest he only comes in if Raphinha leaves. Rather have Rapha.
Also he is on £115k a week, we could get 2 prem level players for that a week.

2.) 27 Feb 2021 13:46:15
i read somewhere he is on 50K a week, not sure how much i trust the source admittedly. His age for me isn't such a problem. He strikes me as someone who maybe his pace has or will go a little but will bust a gut and has experience playing for big teams in a high-pressure environment. Not like the last guy we signed from Madrid who basically sat on their bench for ages, this guy actually plays and if he gets a solid 3-4 yr deal to take him to 33 yrs good stuff. Free agent too means i'm not so annoyed about signing him with decreasing sell-on value based on age.

3.) 27 Feb 2021 13:48:40
would also say, Poveda looks promising yet still needs to take a big step to be truly useful. Drameh and Summerville have earned the chance to have a go in the first team I hope before the end of the season but have proved nothing yet i sincerely hope they do in some (hopefully) dead rubbers.

4.) 28 Feb 2021 03:41:35
That could be after tax maybe Ealing. Doubt any Madrid first team player (none youngster at least) is on less than 100k a week though, would have to have a terrible agent.

5.) 01 Mar 2021 23:05:44
Reports out of Spain that he wants £160k a week, surely ends any interest.

17 Feb 2021 13:02:55
With two doing a good job. With two "first choices" awaited and two young guns waitng in the wings why am I reading that we are still chasing Ben White. Surely that ship has sailed?

1.) 18 Feb 2021 06:39:46
Lazy journalism is my guess.

2.) 18 Feb 2021 17:28:11
Bielsa supposedly doesn't like to give up on a player that fits what he wants and has had a lot of effort put into so I do think we will keep an eye on him and maybe bid again. That said even if they do decide to sell I don't feel like we will match what the bigger boys will offer, fee or wage.
As to whether we need him, Cooper will be the wrong side of 30 next season and has struggled to keep up with prem attackers in terms of pace and aerial ability in many games. White, Koch, Llorente and Struik (+youngsters) could give us a stable CB rotation for the next 6 or 7 years.

3.) 18 Feb 2021 17:59:55
Leo Because he's class and can play DM plus last time I checked we can sell defenders or loan them out. Can't see Cooper playing many games for us next season.

4.) 19 Feb 2021 17:11:11
White and Draxler are the only two I would break the bank for.

17 Jan 2021 22:16:19
I cannot see the downside and only hope that moves are taking place behind the scenes but please go get Riqui Puig 21 years, twinkling feet, only on 25k (Rodrigo on 125k) and the clincher - on a free this summer! He is exactly what we need to unlock bus parkers. Has a good engine and a consistently high pass completion rate. The only down sides I can see is that he does not win many aerial duels (should fit in well I hear you say) and is not known greatly for tracking back. Maybe MB can work on that.
No fee, acceptable salary, it's a no brainer.

1.) 18 Jan 2021 15:12:16
Only on a free if they release him?
Dont they have the right to extend by another year?
Not sure if they had to do that already though.

13 Dec 2020 17:14:15
I see we are interested in a left back from MK Dons. This is one of the top priority problems for January, Alioski is a waste of time at left back and Dallas for all his effort is just not a left back.
If we do not bring in a new face then we should be doing all we can to integrate Huggins into the first team.

1.) 16 Dec 2020 03:19:54
Agree we desperately need a natural LWB, Alioski and Dallas are good cover but that's all. Is the Dons LB really the answer though? Hope we chase someone at a bit of a higher level if we try to bring someone in.
Linked a few times already, Rose as a short term would be a good shout if he took a hefty pay cut.

2.) 17 Dec 2020 13:56:12
Gum Rose is so an avoid. Poor character. Huggins will make it. Henry from 🐝 better shout.

3.) 18 Dec 2020 03:23:11
Gotta disagree George. Brentford wanted a big fee for Henry in the summer and that will be more in a jan window. He has no prem exp and might not transition up. Rose will be cheap if not free as Jose wants rid. Prem level, will be fit training at spurs, covers a lot of ground in a game. Long term he wouldn't be the answer but as someone to come in and give us a season or two while we find someone long term or get a youngster up to scratch is just what we need. Not saying he is the answer but certainly someone in that mould would be good.

4.) 21 Dec 2020 14:41:06
Gumbo Your right to disagree but from what I hear Rose is trouble and would likely upset the happy go lucky camaraderie of the dressing room. Also, why consider taking back a player who was disloyal to us by leaving? He's a problem we don't need. As for 🐝 wanting lots of money, surprised? Good players attract big price tags. There won't be many bargains for a quality left back. Personally, I think Huggins can make it but in reality see him being loaned out for a season first.

Short term, good business. Out 50mill for Meslier, In 10 mill for Johnson. Long term, not too sure?

1.) 08 Apr 2021 18:47:35
It’s not bad business because I don’t think Johnstone is a bad keeper, I definitely don’t think it will happen and his distribution is poor and bielsa seems to pick keepers who can play from the back.

2.) 08 Apr 2021 22:00:49
He could be tough.

3.) 08 Apr 2021 22:09:04
A keeper I like and would be fairly cheap and only 27 is hulls George long, come on shoot me down. AGAIN lol.

4.) 09 Apr 2021 06:08:34
Realistically with where we are as a club now, if we get an irresistible offer for Meslier or Raphinia I can't see the club turning it down. I which case we would indeed be looking at selling high and getting a cost effective replacement hopefully without weakening the team too much. If we could get a 40mil profit from such a switch and invest the profit in other players I seriously doubt we would be in a position to turn it down.

5.) 09 Apr 2021 11:31:34
I think raph would be let go for 60 and prob mez for about 35-40 to be honest. Realistically.

6.) 09 Apr 2021 14:38:47
I wouldn't like to be the one to make a decision. Whilst the sums are tempting the word continuity springs to mind and the base of the team should be the same bodies going thro to the future and the only changes being additions.
Quality Additions only that we want, and they want to come.

7.) 09 Apr 2021 16:12:19
I agree Leo but we also have to be realistic and we aren't swimming in cash compared to the big shots in the league. We need money to build a decent squad sustainably so hard to resist 2 or even 3 players for the price of one even if their replacement isn't quite as good.

07 Apr 2021 16:56:27
Just reading that we are inching closer to Adama Traore. Now, I was an advocate ofthis move based on his past performances but having watched him recently, not so sure. Hopefully it's a case of the hands of a better teacher he can recapture last years form (or maybe another Barry Douglas) . Let's see. Also reading on the "not wanted" list Neto and Neves. Don't know too much about them?

1.) 07 Apr 2021 17:10:40
Leo Neto is class but Traore must be avoided. He won't fit in at Leeds.

2.) 07 Apr 2021 17:11:15
Reuben Neves would be a great no.8.

3.) 07 Apr 2021 17:32:14
Certainly hope not! Your source Leo?

Traore performances and career stats are mediocre to awful ( goals and assists) .

So no surprise at all Wolves are desperate to offload Traore.

Would not mind Jiminez though.

4.) 07 Apr 2021 17:39:57
Cant believe Wolves will. let either neto or nevez leave.

5.) 07 Apr 2021 18:17:33
Yea please to Neto even though we have quite a few wide midfielders. Excellent player who would fit in perfectly at Leeds.

6.) 07 Apr 2021 21:45:24
Traore is nowhere near the top of my list of players I'd want in from Wolves.
No clue if Bielsa likes him but especially with the prices mentioned i would be disappointed if we went for him.

7.) 07 Apr 2021 23:08:05
Wolvea just want to offload another disappointing player and after they fleeced us for the last player they sold us they are probably hoping they can do the same. They will be laughing all the way to the bank.

8.) 07 Apr 2021 23:27:16
Traore, it's a no from me.

9.) 07 Apr 2021 23:49:23
George recommends going back in for Mr R Kent.

10.) 08 Apr 2021 04:47:21
No to traore.

11.) 08 Apr 2021 07:21:21
I agree with Alf and I’d like to think that Bielsa is no where near to be considering Traore as a Leeds player. We should be a little cautious when it comes to Wolves offloading it’s misfiring players like Douglas and Costa.
Neves and Neto you will find that they will not be for sale.

12.) 08 Apr 2021 08:57:11
Traore is fast, that is all.

13.) 08 Apr 2021 12:36:08
Actually think Trarore could be turned into a very effective central striker by the right Manager, however, these transfer valuations in a c.v. hit economy barmy! he’s a £10million player maximum.

Same with Toney at Brentford, yes he’s scored lots of goals in League 1 and Championship and MAY be the next Watkins or Bamford, but again no more than 10 million.

Behrhamia cannot get a game at West Ham and his add on fees bring total transfer to £30million

I’d spend big on one or two (De Paul a must and transforms our team to next level for me) the rest can be found from U23s and a couple of bargain basement gems.

14.) 08 Apr 2021 14:54:36
I don’t personally believe we are genuinely in for Adama, think it’s lazy journalism as usual because Orta took him to Middlesbrough so there’s a tenuous link there. Think we might be looking at Spain and France and South America for a few this summer though. Traore is a beast but no final product.

06 Apr 2021 13:25:43
With Harrison ruled out who do we feel should replace him? Costa? Alioski? an U23?
I personally don't want it but I can see Dallas at LB and Alioski LW.
Any thoughts?

1.) 06 Apr 2021 13:37:08
99% going to be Costa.

2.) 06 Apr 2021 13:46:35
And therefore presumably Klich recalled into CM . I am ok with that.

But much more likely is El Magico will simply replace the unavailable Harrison with Costa.

Another chance for Costa to find the good form he had at the beginning of tbe season.

He has the techinical ability, a fair degree of pace and end product but he needs to re find his self confidence and toughen up a fair bit mentally and physically (strength work in the gym) .

If he can do that Costa can still become a good player at this level.

3.) 06 Apr 2021 15:19:13
Costa nailed on.

06 Apr 2021 12:11:05
When Europe comes around all domestic hostilities cease. I cheer and kick every ball for whichever team is playing Johnny Foreigner. It is our inalienable right to conquer all comers and every year it should be Brit vs Brit in the Final.

1.) 06 Apr 2021 12:32:09
Fair enough Leo fully respect your point.

For me if they are playing Bayern Munich or Galatasary then probably so, but otherwise not really Leo.

I do not feel the urge to cheer on Man U or Chelski in particular in European matches.

2.) 06 Apr 2021 13:07:39
The day I start cheering on Man U and Chelsea is the day I stop being a Leeds fan.

3.) 06 Apr 2021 13:43:17
I remember being in Holland when Man Utd played Barcelona in a European final. The Dutch in the bar couldn't understand why I was cheering for barca.

4.) 06 Apr 2021 15:21:50
I would only cheer on another English team if it ment Leeds benefitted,
Example in 99 if Mancs winning euro cup ment we would of got champions league footy, then I would be routing for them.

5.) 06 Apr 2021 16:13:55
And oh yes I forgot to add (to my list of Bayern Munich and Galatasary )
the corrupt AC Milan with their bent paid off ref cheating Leeds United in the 1973 European Cup Winners Cup Final

Agree with OP's sentiments above too re Man U and Chelski.

6.) 07 Apr 2021 02:31:10
So if villa were playing 1 of those teams would u shout for us baz/ Leo?

7.) 07 Apr 2021 23:29:10
Totally agree OP.

03 Apr 2021 14:22:40
Rodrigo well worth the money.
Rodrigo to start showing us his skill.
Rodrigo on the bench?
Is that fuel to the fire of the rumours coming out of Elland Road?

1.) 03 Apr 2021 14:55:17
Don’t believe so, but there’s a career for you at talk radio should you need it Leo. Bielsa was at pains to say that both Rodrigo and Hernandez fitness levels were below the rest.

Poor Struick must be gutted possibly gone with experience of Cooper as McGoldrick is a nasty piece of work. Bum has em set up 3-5-2 with totem pole Mcburnie up front probably hold on as long as possible then hit us with a sucker set piece.

We’re ok with set piece defending aren’t we?

2.) 03 Apr 2021 15:01:40
Rodrigo should be starting.

Draxler, Really? let's just park him on the list between Messi and Bale. Just above Ronaldo (Christiano that is) .
Maybe he does prefer Paris to Leeds but he could live in Batley and get the train in.

He would love to come back. It would make sense financially. He could live back at home and nip home for lunch and let the dog out. What's not to like.

Our differences Baz, are exactly why it is important the big man tries some U23s asap. I do know what you are saying about the lack of back up to BamBam but we may have the answer already with Gelhart/ Greenwood, why even Roberts has looked a bit better in recent games. Not quite a gamechanger but not the waste of space he has been in past games.
As for LB I know, as usual, Dallas will not let us down but it would be a mistake to play a right footer at Left Back, if we can avoid it. Back to my first point; we need to have a dood look at Davis/ Huggins in a few meaningfull games. U23s are an indicator but nothing more. Can they hack it in the Prem that is the question. Only one way to find out.
