May be the blooming awful weather but cannot get excited about Sunday, which is a pretty sad state of affairs.
Obviously spoilt last season with attacking, and entertaining free scoring football, and it begs the question as the number of seasons left diminish is it best being the biggest fish in the smaller pond or being the smallest fish in the Atlantic Ocean.
Obviously, itās all understandable but itās bit depressing to be hoping for draws and hanging on for dear life as our new normal.
Maybe I need a drink or nine!

Well Class, little fish have room to grow, big fish have nowhere to go. The aim of course is to go from a big fish little to a small fish big to a big fish big, pardon what?
07 Nov 2025 17:20:46
I going to miss it
Agreed to go to Irish Cup final in Aviva
Cork City v Shamrock Rovers, supposed to be 50k tickets sold
So at least there's going to be a good atmosphere, in spite of poor football
Lots of yummy Guinness though š.
07 Nov 2025 18:43:06
Leeds will win, comfortably.
07 Nov 2025 18:53:32
Have a brilliant time my brother will be there, canāt miss him probably only one wearing his spuds baseball cap, Guinness always helps.
07 Nov 2025 20:00:36
Itās the age old problem with football where success breeds contempt
If we didnāt get promotion weād be moaning now we got promotion we are moaning
Heās my idea most teams would love to be in prem but aināt so letās just enjoy it win lose or draw for the love of god.
{Ed025's Note - im with you Bermo, my take (for what its worth), this is not the 1970,s and you dont have a team full of great players like you did then, fact is most of your players are Championship quality and if anyone thought this season was going to see you out of a relegation scrap are kidding themselves, this season is all about survival and probably the next few seasons as well until you can strengthen the side by buying some quality players but that cant be done in 1 or 2 windows..it will take time.
my advice would be to try and enjoy the ride and dont be too high when you win or too low when you lose...this will happen a lot, you have decent ground and a great fan base and by the looks of it decent owners as well, this will be a case of slowly slowly catchee monkey and i firmly believe you can establish yourselves as a fair premiership side over the next few years with good investment and a bit of luck, all the best guys..
07 Nov 2025 21:34:48
Excuse me for having an opinion different to your own berm, but you must be familiar with that given your perpetual and irrational dislike of KP and Bielsa.
I remember you posting very recently of when we were a joke under Bielsa in the premier league, and you were right all along and glad we went down?
Why not apply the same logic then weāre in the epl under MB enjoy the ride?
Why because your opinion is the only one that matters, under Bielsa we got ninth we played attacking exciting football was everyones favourite second team, he turned championship players into full internationals including KP when getting England player of the year.
I will support my team if theyāre in Pukka pies division 8 but Iām entitled in the seasons I have left supporting my team to prefer attacking football over death by a thousand cuts football, and your statement after people were critical of DF that for you relegation is ok because DF will bring us back up, to me thatās also ludicrous!
But just like youāre entitled to your opinions, Iām entitled to my own. Itās not contemptible or moaning itās simply an aspirational wish to be entertained now and again.
DF has a rubbish epl record to date, as Chris previously said, fighters, football managers are judged on their records over their entire career irrespective of how many excuses you post or what leagues you wish to cherry pick the data from.
Glasner, Iraola, Silva are all far better coaches than DF fact, and none of those clubs had amazing squads when they joined or loads of money at their disposal, all sell their best players but still they continue to succeed and play good football.
Iāll keep supporting, hoping the team improves in time, hoping to god that we get a better coach in time, but I would like a little tactical nous, a little bravery, a little passion a willingness to change more than Iām currently seeing and if thatās a problem for you, so be it.
You continue to deride Baz still, but you dismissive comments repetitive hatred of MB and KP are not so different.
07 Nov 2025 22:42:44
Enjoy Chris!
07 Nov 2025 23:41:19
And that post above is how to bring an argument to a close and any response will only make the responder look silly.
08 Nov 2025 01:12:54
What post are you referring to love?
08 Nov 2025 07:20:16
Fabulous piece Class, everything written here should be welcomed
And free from ridicule
, obviously it's agree or disagree and give reasons for whichever, . But then continually beating a supposed " irritating annoying" drum is laughable when you used that very logic to disagree with another poster .
08 Nov 2025 07:21:10
Cheers Feath and Class,
08 Nov 2025 07:11:12
I am agreeing to your post Ed that this particular season will be a very difficult one to stay up and I understand the fans disappointment over the style of play etc. Itās my belief that this season, especially this season we have to show more pragmatism to our games.
I also want to be entertained when I watch my club play but I am willing to bite my lip a bit to play a style which does appear to be overly cautious and dare I say it, boring to watch especially our away games.
I imagine that Farke himself finds it goes against his traditional way of playing also but he and his staff have witnessed the last two previous seasons promoted teams trying to go go toe to toe playing similar style of Pep football against staple Premiership teams and not getting any results at all. As we know all have been subsequently relegated.
I know some will bring up the argument of Sunderland and how they seem to have done so well. Itās also my belief that they have been in the the short caught in a positively perfect storm with PSR favoring them from their previous seasons and the funds theyāve made from sales.
They have been allowed to spend over the odds to get their deals over the line so they were able to recruit very well.
Granit Xhaka was a inspirational purchase and he alone has been a large part to their success so far.
Will they continue their success is another question especially with the many players they will lose to Afcon.
I have read though that they still have quite an amount of money left to spend which they will if needed, dip into in the January window.
Regis LeBris is a decent coach but he is also a very fortunate one and his position is a envious one.
Leeds and Farke will have to do it the harder way, (not saying it will be plain sailing for Sunderland) , but it is my belief that by doing it the harder way will make us a stronger and better team.
Donāt worry, our future is not to play boring turgid football every week, it will get better that I am certain and that would be with or without Daniel Farke as our coach.
{Ed025's Note - i think there will not be that much between Leeds and Sunderland at the end of the season OP, they are enjoying a false position at the moment dare i suggest and injuries and suspensions will come back to bite them because their squad lacks depth...as does Leeds, i really want Farke to succeed but think he will be replaced sooner rather than later because because survival is paramount to the owners and im not sure his pulling power and profile is high enough for a team of your potential which is sad but true.
The history of Leeds means they should be in the top flight but it does not always work out like that as we know and you will have to scrap for every point, your home form will be crucial to your survival mate but a lot will depend on recruitment and if you can bring in better quality especially in the forward positions, best of luck though my friend..
08 Nov 2025 08:43:06
Many thanks Ed, we will need it.
I still think Farke is the best man to keep us up, if he manages that and depending on how, if he does it, then I think there can be a grown up discussion by all those concerned on whether Farke is the man capable of taking us any further.
Personally if he can keep us up it probably is where it would be the time to cut him loose, but who knows?
Everybody has an opportunity to improve themselves, not everyone is stuck in a time warp and should not be tarred with the same brush all the time.
{Ed025's Note - i see DF as an honest hard working guy OP and he deserved his shot this season after getting you promoted...im just not sure if he can take you to the next level, who replaces him is the hard bit because its a bit of a lottery and some guys just fit and some dont, its not an easy job because a lot of the players you have on the books have reached their celing and that probably includes the manager, over recent seasons the teams who have been promoted have gone right back down but hopefully this season the trend can be bucked but its still going to be very difficult..but you never know mate..
08 Nov 2025 09:13:49
Remember city away opti. Dallas master class. 10 men.
Not getting any results at all? That result and goals alone left me with lifetime memories.
08 Nov 2025 09:18:49
And very good post ed25.
{Ed025's Note - cheers Aus..
08 Nov 2025 09:59:34
Yes we all enjoyed that Aus and Marcelo was a rare breed that was the only man who was capable of polishing a turd, but that was only for a certain time without adding real quality to our squad. Farke is not Bielsa but has the same set of tools to work with, so to speak and is applying his own methods to keep us up this season. Heās working within his own limits to achieve that goal and is so far producing the results that show if we continue in the same way we will achieve survival, just, which will be our clubās objective.
The exciting football can come we achieve sustainability in the premiership, with quality players.
08 Nov 2025 12:12:50
Farke won't be here in February imo
So hopefully the " talent " dept are analysing all the " data " so we should end up with Ronaldo McDonaldo to try keep us up š.
08 Nov 2025 12:52:15
Farke wonāt be here in Dec Chris unless owners are still struggling to replace him.
Owners inability yet again like window.
Opti. Point being is.
If we went and go down. Which is fact and probability. Isnāt it best just to go at it? at home especially. Not woeful spam second half. Or at the very least not Parker the bus aka the Alamo.
08 Nov 2025 13:09:32
Thereās absolutely zero fact in your post Aus, sorry mate itās again only your speculation and your opinion.
08 Nov 2025 13:35:24
Berm says he not interested in entertainment just winning football. Having watched one of his movies I understand that entertaining the audience isnāt at the top of his agenda.
08 Nov 2025 14:15:09
So we didnāt beat city and we didnāt park the bus against spam opti?
08 Nov 2025 14:57:30
Corky no need to be personal is there. Thatās just out of line. I just sold a film to the bbc ⦠what you done with your life?
08 Nov 2025 14:58:11
The part that we are going down is not fact but us beating Man City is fact. What is also fact that we got a spanking of 0-4 at Elland rd as revenge in the same season.
08 Nov 2025 15:05:17
Edās Iām fuming with Corks lost his on earth did you let such a personal dig get through on the site
I work too hard and sacrificed too much to be belittled and ridiculed on a site by a fellow fan. Once someone said similar to my face and it ended in violence. Iām not proud of that nor and I trying to be the hard man just saying comments like that have no place on this forum.
{Ed001's Note - then you are a spoilt child with no sense of humour. He was clearly just making a joke, but you think you are too important to be made fun of now. If you don't want to have people make fun of you, stay off a banter site. You constantly whine about this, while happy to give stick out, get personal and threaten violence. It is pathetic.}
08 Nov 2025 15:14:57
Oh dear, scathing post there Cork.
Iām just about to pour myself a fine bourbon and watch how this thread pans out.
08 Nov 2025 16:53:34
šæ š„ šŗ.
08 Nov 2025 17:24:21
Jaysus Berm I was obviously only joking.
Iāve done plenty of good things in my life which Iām extremely proud of. Thank you. Itās a banter site buy the way.
08 Nov 2025 18:54:23
Meanwhile, Sunderland 1 Arsenal 0
I love football ā¤ļø.
08 Nov 2025 21:09:24
Fair enough cork and thank you, I hope you can understand how I maybe saw it as a personal attack and took it personal but I do appreciate the apologie. In my job I am under a lot of stress and get a lot of hate and personal attacks thrown my way so didnāt expect it on this site
As for you Ed, when have I ever given a personal attack on this site? You will not find one example. I do not think I am too important, you are the only who gives it then when you donāt like the reply you block the post ( hence you wonāt post this) you are like the kid with the ball and when you lose you go home with it. Great site but I donāt have much time for you.
As for the violence no not at all those who know me on this site (and there are a few) know I not like that. But I hate bullies and have no stomached them and no one has even been rude to my face as I donāt think bullies should be torlerated⦠do you think bullying is ok?
{Ed001's Note - no which is why I have no time for you, as you are a bully. You shove your views down everyone's throat. Oh and if you read what you wrote to corkey and now to myself, you will see that you constantly make personal attacks. You are a hypocrite.}
08 Nov 2025 22:57:10
Ed what I wrote to Corky was retaliation, I do have my views and yes I will air them but I never get personal (as said corks was retaliation and making a point) .
As for having no time for me thatās your call, I remeber you saying about how you left social media a while back due to being bullied (something like that) and seeing how you behave on here Iād say itās clear in my opinion you have issues probably of the mental health variety. That is not an attack on you mental health is something very personal and close to my heart so I say with all seriousness maybe consider speaking to someone and get help. Itās not a weakness to have issues and or need help and to me you have some clear indicators that that might be relevant to you
So while you have no time for me, I hope you get the help i think you may need, as itās a struggle as I found out with my mother god rest her soul.
{Ed001's Note - you really are a cretin! Embarrassing.}
08 Nov 2025 23:22:52
To talk openly and honestly about my mother who died aged 54 due to mental health issues? If you think that makes me a cretin then o guess thatās up to you.
Personally itās not something I speak about lightly or without the upmost respect. Iāll leave it at that out of respect not only for my mum but all the many hundreds of thousands who suffer. Mental health shouldnāt be seen as a stigma or insult think it says something that you took it that way and went with insults
We will never see eye to eye or meet in person so Iāll leave it there.
08 Nov 2025 23:35:41
Berm I never actually apologised but in saying that I donāt wish to upset anyone. It was just a joke which you obviously took the wrong way.
I actually said a few weeks back I watched your movie Roman Empires one I believe and it was a good way to pass away time on the train.
So seriously mate chill out a bit and stop being so touchy as life is too short.
09 Nov 2025 01:25:15
And there was me thinking this was a forum for football banter, and we get a side order of people lobbing insults at each other. Like everyone I've got opinions about footie and am fully prepared for others to disagree and tell me I'm talking bulls#it, but I can well do without all this other aggro, so can those responsible please put a sock in it!
09 Nov 2025 03:14:21
For context Iāve just found out about I've been swindled out of around 100-150k by someone I trusted on one of these films due to a contract loophole.
So forgive me if I donāt have much humour at the moment and why I might take things the wrong way.
Thatās the problem with banter. Itās only banter if the other persons laughing otherwise itās just personal, spitful and hurtful
Itās all about context and no itās one on this site knows what anyone else is going through. A militia millionaire has just cost me the chance to move of of my two bedroom flat where my kids share a room when they are the age that they should have there own space. On top of that christmas has no just become very hard.
So I didnāt f in d the joke funny and to get the barrage of abuse from ed1 I find beyound the pale.
So letās be nice because lifeās hard enough, views are views but it should never get personal and ones manās banter is another persons hate speech
All about context.
09 Nov 2025 06:11:18
Well that all come out of the blue. Had a chuckle š.
09 Nov 2025 07:21:45
Knew I was going to finish my drinks and popcorn before this latest episode had finished.
Reminds my of a scene in the movie Apocalypse Now where chef decides to get off the boat to take a piss in the jungle, a tiger attacks him, after running back terrified and gets back on the boat in one piece, trembling he cries out, never get off the boat, never get off the boat.
I think thereās more than enough to annoy and upset each other just talking about football.
I never want to get off the boat.
09 Nov 2025 08:18:20
"Never get out of the boat. absolutely goddam right! "
Great film!
08 Nov 2025 11:53:17
Just call me and 4rse kisser, but those are the best posts on here I've read for a long time from Ed25! Is there a butt kissing emoji?
{Ed025's Note - i will try and find one Brighty...cheers mate..
08 Nov 2025 14:56:32
Cheers Ed Iām with you mate as an outsider and educated man in football I think you probably are close to being Nan in the money
Class no need for the attack mate, I certainly wasnāt attacking you and apologise if you felt that way as I have a lot of time and respect for you and your opinions and posts. For what itās worth I think you are one of the top posters on this site and a reason I come back to it.
Two things though⦠one donāt put words in my mouth never was I glad we got relegated under Belisa⦠when he took us up I posted on this site well done and glad he proved me wrong. I then was gutted he proved me right
Also with my āhate of Belisa and kp⦠itās not hate just I thought they were rubbish and I was right.
See the difference between farke and Belisa is this⦠hands dealt. I donāt mind losing if I expect it if it is resonable however under achieving is something I hate.
Belisa had four years of stability and spending lots and lots of money
Farkes had three years of instatbilty and instead of spending money he has had to make it.
While Belisa threw money aboyt darke is making 120 in sales in one window
So Belisa should of done better under the circumstances he had. Farke has over achieved given the circumstances
And that is the one big difference.
07 Nov 2025 01:16:09
Makes sense to bring back large in Jan. not having much luck over there so good to be impact sub for us.
Agree2
Disagree0
07 Nov 2025 09:44:12
Corberan is hardly using him at Valencia although he hard a injury for a while. But it does look like Corberan does not favour him.
In respect of a recall in January he might be loaned out to another club.
The whole point of loan was to gain more experience and improve himself because clearly heās not good enough, especially for top flight football.
He no doubts has mercurial talents but thereās a lot more to football than doing a bunch of back flips.
07 Nov 2025 11:08:25
He was loaned out because Farke didn't like him.
07 Nov 2025 12:05:13
Must have a great source there Mo to be able to claim he simply and personally does not like the lad? I'm more inclined to agree with OP on this one, as its already been publicly stated that the club see his future at Leeds, and getting more game time elsewhere is of more benefit to club and player at this point.
Clearly tho, as Aus rightly points out, if he ain't getting it, there's no benefit to anyone, so get him back ASAP! If a further loan is then seen to be right, so be it, but CC not using him in a difficult season says we should recall him.
07 Nov 2025 13:14:01
My point bright. Better us use or not than others. Plus. Oks tires and large on is a headache for lower level teams.
Just need James and gnonto to earn their crust and will need just a striker in window.
07 Nov 2025 14:50:23
Bright, he never played him, when he did and large scored he always looked fuming. There were plenty of tid bits floating around which pointed to neither liking one another.
Then we look at farkeball across Norwich and Leeds, his reliance on good boys who stick to the plan and not mavericks, of which Summerville Rutter, Gnonto and largie were/ are.
If it was a matter of largie not being good enough, surely we would have sold him and Joseph to give us more PSR headroom - the main reason, according to the 49ers, that we couldn't buy more players.
Then the strange insistence on a call back clause for Largie and Paraag saying Joseph has a place in the squad.
Fun fact. Guillovogi sacked himself the moment he sprayed Farke with champagne.
07 Nov 2025 17:37:57
Hard to sack yourself with 1 month left on a contract that was never going to be renewed!?
Also not one to read much into a coach's face, especially when the one you're referring to is renowned for looking deadpan always, and even criticised for it among fan groups!?
But, hey ho, if interpretation of facial expressions and fan heresay are now facts, who am I to argue?
07 Nov 2025 18:44:42
Farke is expressive in facial expressions.
Guillovogi had a non footballing future at Leeds. I won't blame Farke for that, but not having him and Bamford as ambassadors is beyond silly.
08 Nov 2025 12:02:13
Bamford was on too much, tho I don't agree in the manner or principle of his departure. I agree re a non footballing role for Guilavogui, but I'm not aware of any coaching qualifications, and clubs don't pay people to be dressing room mascots, plus imo those strong, leadership personalities need to be on the pitch.
Cooper was cited by his fellow players as a massive dressing room influence, but he wasn't kept on in any capacity either.
Anyway, just differing opinions here again. š»š».
09 Nov 2025 01:58:53
Largie ain't as good as Okafor, but as a second strong left winger I'd prefer him to Harrison.
